Nell Whiddon
Nell Whiddon, 80, of Baytown, died Monday, March 22, 2004 at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 25 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Resthaven Cemetery also in Silsbee.
A native of Hattiesburg, MS and a former resident of Silsbee, she was a longtime resident of Baytown. She served as Business Manager of San Jacinto Hospital for 20 years and retired as Clinic Manager of Gulf Coast Hospital with 18 years service. She received an Honorable Discharge from the United States Navy in July 1946.
Survivors include her sisters, Justine Weathersby and Vashti Norrid, both of Beaumont.
Rev. Lawrence Miles
Rev. Lawrence E. Miles, 51, of Minnesota, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, March 16 with burial at Crystal Lake Cemetery in Minneapolis, MN.
A native of Silsbee, he received his degree in engineering and worked for NASA in Lockheed, Texas, Control Data in St. Paul, MN and Excel Energy in Minnesota. He was an ordained minister and was serving as Associate Pastor at Tabernacle House of Prayer and Freedom in Minneapolis.
Survivors include his father, Abram Miles of Silsbee; wife, Melanie; daughter, faith; son, Lawerence; and sister, RoseMary Williams.
Billy Raglin
Billy D. Raglin, 76, of Silsbee, died Saturday, May 15, 2004 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
A memorial service was held Wednesday, May 19 at Good Shepherd Baptist Church under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home also in Silsbee.
A longtime resident of Silsbee, he was a retired truck driver and a United States Army World War II veteran.
Survivors include son, James Raglin of Silsbee; daughters, Mary Raglin of Silsbee and Betty Ann Raglin of Lake Charles; sister, Maxine Childress of Groesbeck; and two grandchildren.
Annie Wright
Annie Marie Wright, 85, of Fred, died Friday, May 14, 2004 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Sunday, May 16 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred.
A native and lifelong resident of Fred, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include numerous cousins.
Helen Dailey
Helen Swearingen Dailey, 92, of Silsbee, died Sunday, May 16, 2004 at Pine Arbor Healthcare Center in Silsbee.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, May 18 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery in Port Arthur.
A native of Jasper, she had lived in Silsbee many years, and was a former resident of Port Arthur where she was employed by the Texaco Company in the CC Department.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
Joseph McClellen
Joseph Dudley “Pop” McClellen, 79, of Warren, died Thursday, May 13, 2004 in Warren.
Funeral service was held Sunday, May 16 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Knupple Cemetery also in Silsbee with military honors performed by the Livingston VFW.
He was a retired painter for the Houston I.S.D. and a United States Navy World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Betty McClellen of Warren; son, Kenneth McClellen of Dayton; daughters, Elaine Self of Spring and Diann Austin of Brookhaven, MS; stepson, Wayne Patterson Jr. of Thicket; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
James Shaw
James Dawson Shaw, infant son of James David and Kristi Shaw of Fred, was born March 7, 2004 and died May 13, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Saturday, May 15 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred.
Survivors other than his parents include sister, Baylea McGallion of Fred; grandparents, Jerry and Tammy McGallion of Fred, Melvin and Tina McGallion of Silsbee and James and Sheila Shaw of Sam Rayburn; great-grandparents, Barbara Drake, Sugar Bowl Shaw, Betty Crawford, Evelyn Kelley and Nellie Watts, all of Silsbee, James Shaw of Spurger and Richard and Peggy Curry of Vidor; and great-great-grandmother, Betsy Kolb.
