Lester Richard "Dick" Thomas, 64, of Lumberton, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24 at the Gospel Center Church in Beaumont with burial at Magnolia Cemetery also in Beaumont under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee.
A native of Andalusia, Ala., he had lived in Lumberton for 25 years and was a self-employed truck driver. He was also a United States Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Thomas of Lumberton; son, Melvin Pangan of Kenner, La.; daughter, Kim Wood of Lumberton; brothers, John Thomas of Red Level, Ala., Albert Cook of Biloxi, Miss. and Norman Thomas of Jacksonville, NC; and two grandchildren.
Claudia Mitchell
Claudia Elizabeth Mitchell, 58, of Kountze, died Monday, May 19, 2003 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 24 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze.
She had lived in Kountze 35 years and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Albert T. Mitchell Jr. of Kountze; sons, Larry Morris of Woodville, Albert Morris of Spring, Jayson Mitchell and William "Lude" Mitchell, both of Kountze and Michael Mitchell of Houston; daughters, Cindy Shafer of Lumberton and Sylvia Mitchell of Lafayette, La.; sister, Linda Richardson of Pensacola, Fla.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
John Linscomb
John Paul Linscomb, 63, of Silsbee, died Saturday, May 24, 2003.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 27 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Linscomb Cemetery in Mauriceville.
A native of Gist, he had lived in Silsbee the past eight years and was an inspector for American Bridge.
Survivors include his wife, Falvy Langton Linscomb of Silsbee; sons, John Kayle Linscomb of Deweyville and Steven Kalap Linscomb of Evadale; daughter, Liska Diane Sarver of Buna; step-daughters, Tonah Ferguson of Center and Kay Crane of Franklinton, La.; mother, Eva Mae Linscomb of Buna; sisters, Julie Baggett and Janies Gaspard, both of Buna; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Jerry Daniel
Jerry "J.D." Daniel, 65, of Warren, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24 at the First Baptist Church in Kountze with burial at Guedry Cemetery in Batson under the direction of Broussard's Mortuary in Kountze.
A native of Batson, he was a lineman.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Daniel of Warren; sons, Ronnie Daniel of Bastrop, Ray Blackwell of Warren, and Randy Blackwell of Clearlake; daughters, Debbie Bias of Dallas, Teresa McMahon of LaMarque, Dustin Hobbs of Albany, Ga., Jeri Moore of Athens, Bumper Suzann Brocato of Warren, and Jimmy Wright; brothers, A.D. "Gus" Daniel of Kountze and Larry Daniel of Batson; and ten grandchildren.
Nena McKinney
Nena Frances McKinney, 80, of Silsbee died Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at the Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 31 at the First Baptist Church in Silsbee with burial at Resthaven Cemetery under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee.
A native of Magnolia Springs, she had lived in Silsbee 60 years and was a retired Silsbee Independent School district elementary school teacher with 43 years service. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Silsbee Woman's Club, Azalea Garden Club and a member of the teachers soriety.
Survivors include her husband of 56 years, Martin McKinney of Silsbee; son, Jerry McKinney of Silsbee; daughter, Carolyn Hawkins of Silsbee; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Ima Williams
Ima Williams, 95, of Kountze, died June 11, 2003 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Resthaven Cemetery also in Silsbee.
A native of Big Sandy, she had lived in Kountze for 55 years and was a cook at the Top Half.
Survivors include sons, Leon Williams and Donald Williams, both of Silsbee; daughters, Vivian Read of Kountze and Virginia Spears of Silsbee; sisters, Zemma Reid of DeRidder and Ivor Wornick of Orange; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Hazel Hare
Hazel Hare, 79, of Silsbee, died Friday, June 13, 2003 at her residence.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 16 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Morse Cemetery in Buna.
A native of Bronson, she was a longtime resident of Silsbee and a homemaker.
Survivors include nephew, J.B. Hulett of Buna; and niece Lavon Harris.
