Lydia Mock
Lydia Ard Mock, 99, of Spurger, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, Feb. 11 at the First Baptist Church in Spurger under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Turner Branch Cemetery also in Spurger.
A native of Hardin County, she was a lifelong resident of Spurger.
Survivors include her daughters, Joyce Faydell Hicks of Kirbyville and Charlotte Laverne Burks of Spurger; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Virginia Gieseke
Virginia Lou “Ginny” Gieseke, 65, of Silsbee, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, Feb. 11 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home also in Silsbee with burial at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery.
A native of Fordyce, AR, she had lived in Silsbee 28 years, was an administrative assistant for William R. Gieseke CPA Firm and was a former substitute teacher for Silsbee Independent School District.
Survivors include her husband, William R. “Bill” Gieseke Sr. of Silsbee; sons, William R. Gieseke Jr. of Roxton and John Stephen Gieseke of Sour Lake; daughters, Deborah Anne Loughlin of New Jersey and Catherine Anne Williams of Honey Island; sister, Kaye Duffee of Beaumont; and nine grandchildren.
Ethel Young
Ethel Day Young, 79, of Evadale, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004.
Funeral service was held Saturday, Feb. 7 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Morse Cemetery in Buna.
A native of Call, she was a longtime resident of Evadale.
Survivors include sons, Charles Ray Young and Roy W. Young, both of Beaumont; daughters, Evelyn Hammers of Prentiss, MS, Carolyn Mayo of Panama City Beach, FL and Jeannie Walton of Florence, MS; brothers, W.K. Day of EvAdale and Archie Ray Day of Rogers; sisters, Dollie Mae Harris of Evadale; Merle Myers of Lumberton and Ruby Brannon of Silsbee; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Gloria Murphy
Gloria Jean Murphy, 62, of Evadale, died Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Saturday, Feb. 7 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Morse Cemetery in Buna.
A native of Buna, she was a lifelong resident of Evadale.
Survivors include sons, Benny Earl Murphy and Rocky Lynn Murphy, both of Evadale; daughters, Lesia Coleman, Sandy Coleman, Penny Murphy and Tammy Murphy, all of Evadale; sisters, Sharon Moree of Vidor, Brenda Rawls of Silsbee, Debbie Knight of Evadale and Susan Jenkins of Fred; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Jerry Rinando
Jerry “Chicken Man” Rinando, 41, of Lumberton, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Friday, Feb. 6 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont.
A native of Beaumont, he was a supervisor of grounds-keeping at several golf courses in the Beaumont area and a motorcycle and car repairman.
Survivors include his wife Cindy “Peach” Rinando; son, Josie Wayne Cole-Rinando; daughter, Shara Rinando; mother, Mary Sue McDougle Barranco of Beaumont; sisters, Sarah Tate of Monroe, LA, Connie Rinando of Beaumont, Happy Barranco of Germany and Miriam Barranco of Alexandria, VA; and brothers, Lucian Rinando of New York, NY, Nino Barranco of Alexandria, VA and Guiseppe Barranco of Beaumont.
A.D. Daniels
A.D. “Gus” Daniels, 75, of Kountze, died Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2004 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Friday, Feb. 6 at the First Baptist Church in Kountze under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary with burial at Guedry Cemetery in Batson.
A native of Batson, he had lived in Kountze over 40 years and retired from Daniels Building and Construction, Inc. with 37 years service. After retiring he founded and operated Quality Cabinet and Millwork in Kountze. He served two terms as mayor of Kountze and was a 20 year member of the Kountze Volunteer Fire Department, five of those years as fire chief.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Johann Daniels of Kountze; sons, Wayne Daniels of Kountze and Carlton Trimble of Lumberton; daughter, Robin Geese of Tyler; brother, Larry Daniels of Batson; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Rusty Davis
Rusty Guy Davis, 22, of Lumberton, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, Feb. 11 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park also in Beaumont.
A lifetime resident of the area, he worked for Allied Fence Company.
Survivors include his son, Gage Landon Guy Marshall of Lumberton; father, Roger Davis of Lumberton; mother, Joni Silcox of Lumberton; sisters, Amber LeAnn Richard and Hope Evelyn Silcox, both of Lumberton; grandparents, Raymond and Marjorie Joines and Bobbie Davis, all of Lumberton.
