Mamie Marie Hammond, 86, of Silsbee, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2004 at her residence.
Funeral service was held Friday, Jan. 30 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Oak Bluff Cemetery in Port Neches.
A native of Leesville, LA, she had lived in Silsbee the past 20 years and was a a homemaker.
Survivors include daughters, Karen Lynn Pettit of Fred and Mary Margaret Castor of Panama City, FL; brothers, William “Bill” Young of Grand Prairie and James Allen Young of Orange; sisters, Hazel Heard of Santa Rosa CA, Gladys Hall of Orange, Mary Wilson of Crystal Beach and Nelda Lamont of Athens; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchildren.
Darlene Harvill
Darlene Harvill, 47, of Silsbee, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004 at Minden Medical Center in Minden, LA.
Funeral service was held Saturday, Jan. 31 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Cunningham Cemetery also in Silsbee.
A native of Kountze, she was a lifelong resident of Silsbee and a housewife.
Survivors include her daughter, Billie Hooks of Silsbee; mother, Opalene Crain of Silsbee; sisters, Carolyn Gore of Silsbee and Brenda Burrell of Evadale; and two grandchildren.
Evelyn Schmitz
Evelyn Kathryn Pruitt Schmitz, 93, of Lumberton, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004 at the Lumberton Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 2 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Beaumont with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park also in Beaumont.
She was a native of Alto.
Survivors include her daughters, Sandra Bramer and Jane Wright, both of Lumberton and Lucille Bess of Colmesneil; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Hazel Brady
Hazel Jeanette Brady, 79, of Kountze, died Friday, Jan. 30, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Sunday, Feb. 1 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze.
A native of Bronson, she was a longtime resident of Kountze and was retired from Kountze Pharmacy with 32 years service as a retail clerk.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Holmes of Kountze, LaJean Warren of Austin and Laura Alford of Houston; brother, Curtis Ford Jr. of Corpus Christi; and three grandchildren.
Beatrice Hatch
Beatrice Hatch, 84, of Silsbee, died Thursday, Jan. 29, 2004 at the Lumberton Rehab Center.
Funeral service was held Monday, Feb. 2 at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Buna with burial at Antioch Cemetery also in Buna.
A native of Sugartown, LA, she had lived in Silsbee 52 years and was a retired ward clerk for Silsbee Doctors Hospital.
Survivors include son, Ivory Hatch Jr. of Lumberton; daughters, Gayle Ann McGowen of Jasper and Rena Lois Thompson of Angleton; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Stephen Mann
Stephen G. Mann, 47, of Lumberton, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004 at the Lumberton Rehabilitation Center.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Jan. 31 at the North Church in Beaumont.
Survivors include his sister, Jeannie Duke of Colmesneil.

June Rose “Rosie Goats, 75, of Evadale, died Sunday, Feb. 1 at her residence.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, Feb. 4 at Claybar Funeral Home with burial at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
A native of Orange, she had lived in Evadale 43 years and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Lawrence S. Goats Sr. of Evadale; daughters, Karen Brewer of Raleigh, NC, S. Correna Lawrence of Sour Lake, Glenda K. Dobie, Rebecca T. Hooks and Pennie M. Hillin, all of Buna, Ronda S. Whitsitt of Evadale, and Emily C. Blakeney of Silsbee; sons, Gary W. Goats of Orange, Lawrence S. Goats Jr. of Washington Township, NJ and Stephen V. Goats of Evadale; sister, Janis C. Jackson of Orangefield; brothers, Jimmy L. Linscomb of Orange and Robert V. Linscomb of Houston; 25 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
