Albert Leon “Star” Stutts, 66, of Saratoga, died Sunday, Feb. 1, 2004 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, Feb. 3 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze with burial at Village Mills Cemetery in Village Mills.
A native of Saratoga and a lifelong resident of Honey Island, he was a retired oilfield worker.
Survivors include daughter, Rhonda Hendrix of Saratoga; sons, Ricky Leon Stutts, Randy Lane Stutts, and Russell Lee Stutts, all of Saratoga and Robert Lynn Stutts of Rye; sisters, Lounell Courts of Kountze, Bobbie Massingill and Carolyn Williams, both of Honey Island and Elsie Mae Spell of Silsbee; brother, Kenneth Stutts of Silsbee; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Patricia Landrum
Patricia Maxine Landrum, 60, of Silsbee, died Monday, Feb. 2, 2004 at Pine Arbor Health Care Center in Silsbee.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, Feb. 4 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Trout Creek Cemetery in Kirbyville.
A former 30 year resident of Vidor, she had lived in Silsbee one year and was a retired convenience store clerk.
Survivors include daughter, Wendy Tanton of Silsbee; sons, Jeffery Landrum of Vidor and Jerry Doga of Buna; mother, Opal Sanford of Buna; sister, Judy Day of Buna; brother, Paul Sanford of Vidor; and four grandchildren.
Linda Carolyn Crawford
Funeral services for Linda Carolyn Crawford, 58, of Evadale were held at 4 p.m. Monday, January 26, 2004 at Farmer Funeral Home Chapel in Silsbee with interment at Morse Cemetery in Buna.
Mrs. Crawford was born in Silsbee and was a lifelong resident of Evadale and was a cafeteria worker for the Evadale I.S.D.
Preceding her in death was her father, Clyde Hoke Sr.; mother, Willie Mae Hoke; and sister, Dixie Marie Moore.
Survivors include daughters, Clyda Johnson and Jeannie Durr, both of Silsbee and Candy Burnett of Evadale; sisters, Jean Burnett of Evadale and Alice Travis of Silsbee; brothters, Clyde Hoke Jr. and Eddie Hoke, both of Evadale; four grandsons, one granddaughter; and one great-granddaughter.
Jimmie Spell
Jimmie Carl Spell, 68, of Fred, died Saturday, Jan. 24, 2004 at Woodville Hospital.
Funeral service was held Monday, Jan. 26 at Oak Grove Assembly of God Church in Spurger under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Franks Branch Cemetery in Fred.
A native and lifelong resident of Fred, he was a retired pipe welder.
Survivors include sons, Michael Spell and Terry Spell, both of Fred and Shawn Kimbrell of Nederland; daughter, Debra McInnis of Fred; and eight grandchildren.
John Linscomb Jr.
John Lee “Buttons” Linscomb Jr., 91, of Warren, died at his home January 23, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 25, 2004 at First Baptist Church in Silsbee with Reverend Kevin McClusky and Reverend David Coudrain officiating, interment followed at Resthaven Cemetery also in Silsbee. Services were under the direction of R.S. Farmer Funeral Home.
Buttons or “Mr. B” as he was known by many dear friends, was a native of China, Texas and had lived most of his life in Hardin County.
He had retired from Kirby Lumber Company as a supervisor and had supervised the Bear Mans Bluff Lodge for 15 years.
Preceded in death by son, Val D’Wayne Fox, he is survived by his wife of 30 years, Alice Linscomb of Warren; children, Peggy Sue Butzke and husband Lonnie of Montgomery, Tx, Frances Linscomb of Coleman, Tx, Joyce Abernathy and husband Frank of Vidor, John Linscomb III and wife Rose of Sour Lake, Cecelia Linscomb of Sour Lake, Kenneth Ray “Rusty” Linscomb and wife Mara of Warren, Glenda Darlene Nicholson and husband Jim of Mineola, Tx and Randy Darwin Fox and wife Mary Fran of Lumberton; 20 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Mike Davenport, James Young, Charles Young, Bruce Young, Danny Greenwood and Robert Harrison.
The family would like to thank the following, Fourth Floor Oncology at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital, Dr. Sumalatha Patibandla, Nurse Nicole Baltenfield, Dr. Robert Hood, Dr. M. Ong, Dr. Jose Lozano, Dr. George Hoffman, Dr. Maria Blahey, Dr. Henry Williams, Mamie McFadden Cancer Center, Texas Home Health out of Chester, Southern Care Hospice and all others who compassionately cared for our loved one during his illness.

Hazel Ebarb, 71, of Lumberton, died Friday, Jan. 23, 2004.
Funeral service was held Sunday, Jan. 25 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery also in Silsbee.
A native of Silsbee, she was a longtime resident of Lumberton.
Survivors include her husband, Jessie Ebarb of Lumberton; sons, Tommy Hollyfield of Lumberton, and Benny Hollyfield and Clifford Hollyfield, both of Silsbee; daughters, Brenda Martin of Kirbyville, Mary Walker of Silsbee and Darlene Hollyfield of Kountze; sister, Nellie Watts of Silsbee; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Ernest Gunter
Ernest Eugene Gunter, 85, of Sun Lakes, Arizona, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004.
A family service was held Thursday, Jan. 22 at Wyman Cremation and Burial Funeral Chapel in Mesa, Arizona.
A native of Buna, he was retired from Sears, Roebuck and Company.
Survivors include his wife, Annie Mae Gunter of Sun Lakes; daughter, Diane Drake of Sun Lakes; sister, Marguerite Gunter Weathersby (formerly of Silsbee) of Chandler, Arizona; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
