Susan Blair “SuSu” Hollomon, 54, of Lumberton, died Dec. 31, 2003 in a auto accident in Lumberton.
Funeral service was held Sunday, Jan. 4, 2004 at the First United Methodist Church in Anahuac with burial at Anahuac Cemetery under the direction of Sterling Funeral Home also in Anahuac.
A native of Lake Charles, La. and a former resident of Anahuac, she was a teacher at Lumberton High School.
Survivors include her husband of 30 years, Gus Hollomon of Lumberton; mother, Jimmie Morehead of Anahuac; sons, Cameron Hollomon of Cameron and Logan Hollomon of Lumberton; daughter, Blair Hollomon of Houston; sisters, Lynn Dell Turner of Anahuac and Misty Key of Groesbeck; brother, Rex Tunze of Anahuac; and one grandchild.
Otha Nunn
Otha Faye Brown Nunn, 76, of Center, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004 at Green Acres Nursing Home in Center.
Funeral service was Saturday, Jan. 3 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze with burial at Old Hardin Cemetery also in Kountze.
A native of Zavalla and a former resident of Kountze, she was a homemaker.
Survivors include sons, Daniel Chiles of Kilgore and Joel Chiles of Gainesville, Ga.; daughters, Beth McCauley of Center, Darlene Walker of Tyler and Joyce Holton of Carrollton; sister, Eula Beth Wheat of Bakersfield, Calif.; brothers, Huey Brown of Bakersfield, Calif., Russell Brown of Pioneer, Calif., Ernest Brown of Kountze and David Brown of Jonesboro, La.; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Theresa Smith
Theresa Sullivan Smith, 78, of Silsbee, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2004 at Pine Arbor Health Care Center in Silsbee.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10 at St. Paul Baptist Church in Silsbee with burial at Kirby Cemetery under the direction of J.B. Coleman Funeral Home also in Silsbee. A wake will be held between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9 at the church.
She was a longtime resident of Silsbee.
Survivors include her son, Alan Ray Goodman of Silsbee; sisters, Willie Mae Hollis of Silsbee, and Helen Alexander and Mary Audrey Sullivan, both of Houston; and a brother, Rev. Roy L. Sullivan of Orange.
Yaril Flowers
Yaril Patricia “Pat” Flowers, 69, of Silsbee, died Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2004 at her residence.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 8 at the Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee. Visitation will be between 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7 at the funeral home.
She had lived in Hardin County 50 years and worked as a beautician in both Jefferson and Hardin County from 1952 to 1968.
Survivors include son, Gerald T. “Tom” Flowers of Kountze; daughter, Lollie Raetzsch of Columbus; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Hazel Fobbs
Hazel Lee Fobbs, 74, of Silsbee, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10 at St. John Missionary Baptist Church in Silsbee under the direction of Robinson Community Funeral Home in Jasper with burial at Kirby Cemetery also in Silsbee. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10 at the church.
Survivors include daughters, Juanita Watts Mitchell Loftin and Carolyn Fobbs Lee, both of Houston and Jacqueline Fobbs Posey of Silsbee; sons, Willie Fobbs of Dallas, Rev. Eddie Fobbs of Silsbee, Calvin Fobbs and William Fobbs, both of Beaumont, Dwight Fobbs of Port Arthur, and Anthony Foster of Houston; sisters, Glinda Taylor of Lufkin and Kathy Watts of Houston; brothers, Amos Watts of Buna, Richard Watts of Silsbee, Bobby Watts of Nacogdoches, Perry Watts of Houston, and Charles Watts and Glenn Watts, both of Lufkin; 34 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Robert Pender
Robert Levern Pender, 83, of Silsbee, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 2 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with graveside services conducted by Silsbee Masonic Lodge 927 and East Texas Veterans Group at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze.
A native of St. Maurice, Louisiana, he had lived in Silsbee since 1968 and worked as a mechanic for Caraway Motor Co. and Kirby Forest Industries. He served 26 years in the United States Army, retiring in 1968 as Chief Warrant Officer. He was a World War II, Korean Conflict and Vietnam War veteran.
Survivors include his wife Mary A. Pender; sons, Robert Michael Pender of Silsbee and Larry Sirianni of Princeville, Hawaii; brothers, Columbus Ray Pender and Arthur G. Pender, both of Silsbee; sister, Nell “Robbie” Jones of Silsbee; and five grandchildren.
Frances Satterwhite
Frances Wanda Satterwhite, 74, of Silsbee, died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2005.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, March 1 at Bates-Cooper Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant under the direction of Broussard’s Mortuary in Silsbee with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park also in Mount Pleasant.
A native of Titus County, she had lived in the Silsbee and Beaumont area the past 12 years.
Survivors include her daughters, Wanda Kay Tuminello of Silsbee and Nan Parker of Frisco; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
