Letha Wright Smith, 97, of Silsbee, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003 at her residence.
Funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 29 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Knupple Cemetery also in Silsbee.
She was a retired telephone operator and had worked as a clerk at Collier’s Store in Silsbee.
Survivors include her son, Harvey Smith of Silsbee; six grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Miles Chaney
Miles Taylor Chaney, 14, of Silsbee, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003 in Garland.
A graveside service was held Sunday, Dec. 28 at Resthaven Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home also in Silsbee.
Survivors include his mother, Charlean Shavers Hart of Silsbee; father, Ralph Chaney of Garland; sisters, Myra Katherlean Clark of Silsbee and Sharon Chaney of Garland; grandparents, Charles and Wanda Shavers of Silsbee, Dorothy Chaney of Garland and L.A. Chaney of Dallas; and great-grandmother, Victoria Evitts of Silsbee.
Jackie Bogard
Jackie Laverne Bogard, 53, of Guston, KY, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, KY.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, Dec. 30 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Morse Cemetery in Buna.
A native of Durmont, AR, she was a lifelong resident of Buna.
Survivors include her husband, Harry Bogard of Guston; sons, Tony Smith of Waco and Terry Smith of Pampa; mother, Murlene Pamplin of Silsbee; sisters, Kathy Griffis of Buna and Vickie Handley of Kirby, AR; stepsons, Jeremy Bogard and Jason Bogard; and stepdaughter, Jodi Bogard.
Tom Gilmore
Tom Selman Gilmore, 84, of Lumberton, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003.
Funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 27 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with a Masonic graveside service at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery also in Silsbee.
A former resident of Silsbee, he was a retired boiler maker and was a United States Navy World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Myrtis Bloodsworth Gilmore; son, Raymond Gilmore; daughters, Margaret Sojka, Linda Migura and Donna Skruggs; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Frankie Perkins
Frankie Lanita “Nita” Perkins, 70, of Buna, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
A graveside service was held Saturday, Dec. 27 at Kirbyville Cemetery in Kirbyville under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee.
A native of Roganville and a former resident of Silsbee, she was a retired daycare owner.
Survivors include her husband, W.O. “Buster” Perkins of Buna; sons, Ricky Willis of Evadale and Allen Willis of Lumberton; sisters, Bonnie Curl of Silsbee, and Sue Ozan and Kathleen Richardson, both of Buna; brothers, Macarthur “Mac” Gibson of Lafayette, LA and Walter Gibson of Bon Wier; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Vivian Goins
Vivian Raye Goins, 69, of Lumberton, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003 at Christus St. Mary’s Hospital in Port Arthur.
A memorial service was held Tuesday, Dec. 23 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home also in Vidor.
A native of Leesville, LA, she was a longtime resident of Vidor before moving to Lumberton 15 years ago and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Elton R. Goins of Lumberton; sons, Elton R. Goins Jr. of Lumberton and James Goins of Silsbee; daughters, Pamela L. Pope of Houston and Deborah K. Rogers of Lumberton; brothers, Lenland Wright of Conroe and James K. Wright of Houston; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Alton Dugas
Alton Lee Dugas, 51, of Lumberton, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003.
Funeral service was held Saturday, Dec. 27 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Beaumont with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Park also in Beaumont.
A lifetime resident of the Beaumont area, he was a heavy equipment operator for Seco Industries.
Survivors include his wife, Kelley Dugas of Lumberton; sons, Denver Parks Dugas and Devin Lee Dugas, both of Lumberton; and brothers, Michael “Mickey” Dugas of Nederland and Alcee “Rocky” Dugas Jr. of Beaumont.
