Rachel Jordan, 76, of Kountze, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003 at her residence.
Funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 29 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Kountze with burial at McKinney Cemetery also in Kountze.
A native of Louisiana, she had lived in Kountze 50 years and was a medical nurse.
Survivors include her grandson, Edward Bailey of Kountze; and sister, Edna Ganus.
Alzetta Kelly
Alzetta Kelly, 78, of Silsbee, died Sunday, Dec. 21, 2003.
Funeral service was held Friday, Dec. 26 under the direction of Proctor’s Mortuary in Silsbee.
She was a native and longtime resident of Silsbee.
Survivors include sons, Walter James Stubblefield and Marvin Kelly Sr.; daughters, Laura Katherine Kelly Warren and Carolyn Kelly Primrose; sister, Ruthie Hastley; and 15 grandchildren.
Guy Smith
Guy Raymond Smith, 89, of Nederland, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Resthaven Cemetery also in Silsbee.
A native of Sims, he was a painter with the International Painters Union.
Survivors include brother, Leroy Smith of Nederland; and sisters, Opal McWilliams of Port Arthur, Betty Turpin of Houston and Louise Smith of Beaumont.
Bunion Hutto
Bunion Idus Hutto, 90, of Silsbee, died Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2003 at the Lumberton Rehabilitation Center in Lumberton.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Silsbee with burial at Turner Branch Cemetery in Spurger under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee.
He had lived in Silsbee 35 years and was a barber.
Survivors include son, Kenneth Hutto of Oklahoma City, OK; daughters, Dorothy Murdock of Paris, Patricia Slay of Lake Charles, LA and Elaine Ratcliff of Lumberton; brothers, Percy Ray Hutto of Lumberton and Bronson Hutto of Silsbee; sister, Daisy Waldrep of Silsbee; 11 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
Lila Small
Lila Small, 102, of Silsbee, died Thursday, Dec. 25, 2003.
A graveside service was held Monday, Dec. 29 at Rosedale Cemetery in Sour Lake under the direction of Claybar Kelley-Watkins Funeral Home in Beaumont.
A native of Port Arthur and a longtime resident of Silsbee, she was a retired clerk with the White House Department Store with 42 years of service.
Survivors include her brother, Jack Bennett of Sour Lake; and nieces and nephews.
Ollie Goodman
Ollie Jeffers Goodman, 75, of Silsbee, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003 at Pine Arbor Nursing Home in Silsbee.
A graveside service was held Tuesday, Dec. 30 at Del Rose Cemetery in Vidor under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home also in Vidor.
A native of Browndale, she had lived in Vidor 10 years before moving to Silsbee three months ago.
Survivors inlcude her sons, Gary Bounds of Silsbee, John Christopher Bounds of Nederland, and Wayne Rawls, Kyle Goodman and Kelly Goodman, all of Texas; daughters, Judy Cormier of Houston, Jackie Elmore of Winnie and Kimberly Goodman of Texas; brother, Frank Jeffers of Vidor and Betty Halbert of Evadale; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Brenida Johnson
Brenida “Burna” Brenette Johnson, 35, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003 at the Green Acres Nursing Center in Beaumont.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3 at the St. John Baptist Church in Silsbee with burial at Mt. Zion B.C. Cemetery in San Augustine under the direction of Proctor’s Mortuary in Silsbee. A wake service will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 2 at the mortuary.
A native of San Augustine, she had lived in Silsbee many years.
Survivors include her husband, Theodore Johnson of San Augustine; daughters, LaKisha Henry, Myeshia Henry, and Brittany Henry, all of Silsbee; mother, Daisy Henry of Silsbee; brothers, Benny F. Henry Jr. of Nacogdoches, Bobby Henry of Beaumont, and Billy J. Henry and Brad Henry, both of Silsbee; sisters, Bonnie Henry and Betty Henry, both of Silsbee, Lizzie Smith of Bastrop, La., and Barbara Davis of Houston.
