Florence Viola “Nanny” Kemp, 88, of Silsbee, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004 at Silsbee Oaks Health Care.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 29 at Resthaven Cemetery in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home also in Silsbee. Visitation will begin at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 28 at the funeral home.
Survivors include her daughter, Jo Ann Brinkley of Lumberton; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Marvin Bonnette Sr.
Marvin J. Bonnette Sr., 80, of Silsbee, died Saturday, April 17, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, April 20 at St. Marks Catholic Church in Silsbee under the direction of Farmer Funeral Home with burial at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery also in Silsbee.
A native of Marksville, LA, he was a longtime resident of Silsbee and was a retired power plant supervisor at Kirby Lumber Corp. He also a United States Navy World War II veteran.
Survivors include sons, Marvin Jay Bonnette Jr., Douglas Bonnette and Daniel Bonnette, all of Silsbee, and Gary Bonnette and Alan Bonnette, both of Austin; daughters, Robin Breaux and Gina Bonnette, both of Silsbee and Lisa McDanel and Theresa King, both of Corpus Christi; brother, David Bonnette of Houston; sister, Genevieve Parker of Houston; 22 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Shirley Brown
Shirley Ann Brown, 67, of Silsbee, died Friday, April 16, 2004.
Funeral service was held Sunday, April 18 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Knupple Cemetery also in Silsbee.
A native of Moody, she was a church secretary for Woodrow Baptist Church and Trinity Baptist Church before retiring in 1999.
Survivors include son, Henry Brown of Silsbee; daughters, Vivica David and Dena Whitmire, both of Silsbee; sister, Doris Harding of Robert, LA; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Patricia Robinson
Patricia Ann Tyler Robinson, 50, of Silsbee, died Thursday, April 15, 2004 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Sunday, April 18 at New Hope Church of God in Christ in Silsbee under the direction of Robinson Community Funeral Home in Jasper with burial at Kirby Cemetery also in Silsbee.
Survivors include her husband, Prator Robinson of Silsbee; daughter, Lashunda Scott of Silsbee; stepdaughters, Vanessa Robinson, Cynthia Roberts and Rhonda Collins, all of Beaumont; father, Carl J.D. Tyler Sr. of Silsbee; sisters, Mary J. Elam, Linda K. Perkins and Wanda Menefee, all of Silsbee; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Billie Reynolds
Billie Marie Reynolds, 53, of Beaumont, died Monday, April 19, 2004 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, April 21 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Beaumont.
A native of Orange, she had lived in Beaumont 15 years and was a housewife.
Survivors include her husband, Juan Reynolds of Beaumont; sons, Eldon Nuckols and Richard Nuckols, both of Katy; sisters, Johnnie Davis of League City and Martha Broussard of Vidor; and one grandchild.
Larry Stricklan Sr.
Larry Wayne Stricklan Sr., 58, of Silsbee, died Saturday, April 17, 2004 at his home.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, April 20 at Farmer Funeral Home in Silsbee with burial at R.S. Farmer Memorial Cemetery also in Silsbee.
A native of Paris, Texas and a former resident of Arlington, he had lived in Silsbee the past 30 years and was a longtime employee of the United States Postal Service in Beaumont, Bridge City and retired as supervisor in Silsbee. He was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church in Silsbee and a United States Army veteran.
He loved riding and working with horses, farming and enjoyed wood and leather work. He was a dedicated coach to many through Little League baseball and basketball in Silsbee for many years. One of his favorite past times was spending time with his children and spoiling his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Kelley; and nephew, David Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Liz Kennedy Stricklan of Silsbee; sons, Larry Wayne Stricklan Jr. and wife, Angela of Silsbee and Don Paul Stricklan of Lumberton; daughters, Brenda Vandenberg of Beaumont, Kelly Stricklan of Austin, Sabrina Stricklan Partain and husband, Chuck of Silsbee, Shandy Stricklan of Lumberton, and Dyanna Stricklan of Silsbee; grandsons, Chase Partain and Chance Partain, both of Silsbee; mother, Lilah Kelley of Arlington; brothers, Lee Kelley Sr. and Jerry Kelley and wife, Allison, of Arlington; sister, Gale Johnson and husband, Jimmy of Arlington; nephews, Steven Johnson and Lee Kelley Jr. of Arlington and special family members, Jody and Terrie Carter and children.
Justin Harris
Justin Keith Harris, 29, of Elkhart, Texas died Sunday, April 18, 2004 at his residence. After 14 years of physical trials and struggles, Justin can now say, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, and now the prize awaits me”.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, April 21 at Bailey and Foster Funeral Home in Palestine, Texas.
Preceding him in death was his father, James Keith Harris of Evadale; and grandparents, Leon and Bertha Harris of Evadale.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Debra Fling Henderson and Jim Henderson of Elkhart; brother, Jacob Kyle Harris of Evadale; stepbrothers, Kent Henderson of Lewisville, Texas and Jonathan Henderson of Fort Worth, Texas; and grandparents, James and Mary Fling of Evadale.
Serving as pallbearers were Jacob Harris, Johnny Fling, Chris Fling, Kent Henderson, John Henderson, Chris Brown and Tony Harris.
