Jimmy Julian "J.J.' Hawn
Jimmy Julian "J.J." Hawn of Dallas died Feb. 26, 2000, in Dallas. He was born March 16, 1931, in Athens to Edna Leopard Hawn and William Arthur Hawn. He was the youngest of six boys.
As a young man, Jimmy excelled in academics and sports and went on to play college football at Southern Methodist University. After graduating from SMU, he enlisted in the Air Force during the Korean War.
Mr. Hawn later became a successful businessman, dealing predominantly in real estate development and home building.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, C.F. Hawn, W.R. Hawn, Frank Hawn and J.V. Hawn.
Mr. Hawn is survived by brother, W.A. Hawn Jr., of Dallas; daughters and sons-in-law, Stacy and Keith Houser of McKinney, Jennifer Hawn of Dallas and Christi and Daryl Livingston of McKinney; and grandsons, Ryan Houser, Russell Houser, Reid Houser, Keaton Livingston and Landon Livingston, all of McKinney.
He'll best be remembered for his kind and gentle spirit and for his commitment to honesty and integrity in both his professional and personal dealings. Most importantly, he loved the Lord and his family has the blessed assurance that he is now whole and restored in the presence of Jesus Christ.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Highway Chapel with Bruce Miller officiating.
Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Athens City Cemetery in Athens.

Billy Louise Pierce Heidelberg
Graveside services for Billy Louise Pierce Heidelberg, 68, of Humble are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Humble. Arrangements are under the direction of Family Funeral Care at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Humble.
She died Feb. 26, 2000.
On Aug. 10, 1931, she was born in Athens to Ed Roy and Beatrice Pierce. For over 25 years, she worked at Tuxedo School Pictures to support her family.
Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Florence and Howard Jumper of Malakoff; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Tommy Brown of Kingwood and Tammye and David Sandvig of Humble; sons and daughters-in-law, Ric and Dawn Heidelberg of Lake Conroe and Dean and Tawanna Heidelberg of Onalaska; grandchildren, Jessica Heidelberg, Heidi Taylor, Angel Heidelberg, Brandon Brown and Wayland Brown; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Theo Jenkins
Services for Theo Jenkins, 51, of Springfield Community were held 3 p.m. Monday at Bailey & Foster Chapel in Palestine with the Revs. Lynn Stroud, Charles Grasty and Mike Drinkard officiating.
Burial followed at Stafford-Tucker Cemetery under the direction of Foster & Bailey Funeral Home of Palestine.
Mr. Jenkins died Feb. 25, 2000, in Palestine.
He was born Dec. 11, 1948, in Palestine to Charles Ashley and Ottis Rae Fitzgerald Jenkins. He was a member of Springfield United Methodist Church. He graduated from Palestine High School in 1967 as president of his senior class. He began his railroad career in 1969 as a fireman and was promoted to a locomotive engineer for Union Pacific Railroad. He was also a cattle rancher most of his life.
Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his mother in 1994.
He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sherry Ann Jenkins of Springfield Community; father, Charles A. Jenkins of Springfield Community; daughters, Julie Jenkins Shaw of Elkhart and Jennifer Jenkins Turner of Humble; son, Jason Jenkins of Houston; sister, Mary Meador of Cayuga; brothers, Bob Jenkins of Athens, Bill Jenkins of Stephenville, Harry Jenkins of Houston, Wyley Jenkins of Blackfoot Community, Charles Jenkins Jr. of Springfield Community and Ottis Ray "Honey" Jenkins of Athens; and five grandchildren, Brooke Rae Shaw, Parker Bryant Turner, Bryson Dean Shaw, Brandon Abel Shaw and Payton Abel Turner.
Pallbearers will be Randy, Terry, Chad, Jeff, Brian, John and Richard Jenkins and Richard Jenkins III.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rickey, Greg, Jeremy, Wyley and Michael Jenkins and Roland Shull.
Tyberius "Tye' Jensen
Services for Tyberius "Tye" Jensen, 85, of Bethel Community were held 10 a.m. Monday at Bethel Christian Church with the Revs. Chuck Long and Ann Sweetin officiating.
Burial followed at Athens City Cemetery under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.
Mrs. Jensen died Feb. 26, 2000.
She was born Sept. 26, 1914, in Henderson County to Robert Henry and Mary Lone Dalton Pate.
Mrs. Jensen was a lifelong resident of Henderson County. She was a member of Bethel Christian Church. She and her husband co-owned and operated the Bethel Texaco and Grocery.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Jensen, on Oct. 19, 1997; son, Bobby Jensen on Nov. 11, 1991; brothers, J. Earl Pate, Hulen Pate and Himan Pate; and sister, Edna Pate Jensen.
Mrs. Jensen is survived by her brother, J.B. Pate of Fort Worth; nephews, Nolan Jensen of Tampa, Fla., and Tom Jensen and Dan Rasco, both of Athens; and niece, Jo Alice Tarrant of Fort Worth.
Pallbearers were Kyle Melton, Stacy Hixon, Dan Rasco, Billy Don Buford, Johnny Tarter and J.E. Pate.
Honorary pallbearers were Ernest Morgan and Bennie Crabtree.

Thomas Forest Summerhill
Services for Thomas Forest Summerhill, 66, of Tool are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel in Seven Points with the Rev. Rocky Weatherford officiating under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points.
Mr. Summerhill died Nov. 23, 1999, in Tyler.
He was born April 22, 1933, in Cherry Valley, Ark. Previously of Dallas, he lived in Tool for 18 years. He was a salesman in a furniture and appliances retail store and a Baptist.
Mr. Summerhill was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; two sisters; and infant daughter, June Ellen Summerhill.
He is survived by his wife, Joann Summerhill of Tool; son, Forrest Kyle Summerhill of Tool; daughters, Kay Ann Boles of Dallas, Kandra Sue Parks of Irving and Sandra Kay Siler of Burlingame, Calif; brother, Herman Summerhill of Sardis, Miss.; sister, Lula Lois Wood of Parkin, Ark.; and four grandchidlren, Karen, Nathan and Alexander Parks and Forrest Kyle Summerhill Jr.
Visitation is scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Edward W. Webb Jr.
Graveside services for Edward W. Webb Jr., 69, of Tool are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at King Cemetery in Aley under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points.
Mr. Webb died Feb. 24, 2000, in Tyler.
He was born Aug. 22, 1930, in Noel, Mo., to Edward and Naomi Roark Webb.
Mr. Webb was a metal lather in the construction business. He was a member of the Baptist church in Garden, Okla. Previously of Euless, he had lived in the lake area since 1973.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Vickrey Webb of Tool; sons, Charles and Justin Webb, both of the Cedar Creek Lake area; daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Bill Blackerby of Keller and Teresa and Tony Glenn of the Cedar Creek Lake area; sisters, Ruby Bandura of Bandon, Ore., Becky Lee of Hermiston, Ore., and Sammie Smith of Salinas, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Jerome L. Brewster
Graveside services for Jerome L. Brewster, 87, of Athens were held Saturday at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas under the direction of Restland Funeral Home of Dallas.
Mr. Brewster died Feb. 16, 2000, in Athens.
He was born Aug. 20, 1912, in Cain Hill, Ark., to Bodinot and Henrietta McClure Brewster.
Mr. Brewster moved to Dallas after attending the University of Arkansas. After more than 20 years in the film business, he retired from United Artists Motion Pictures as district manager in Oklahoma City. He served in the Army Air Corp. from 1942-1946 and he was present at the Japanese surrender at Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He was awarded with the Pacific Theater Ribbon.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mary A. Brewster.
Mr. Brewster is survived by his stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Richard and Ann M. Marshall; brother, Gene Brewster of Little Rock, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.
