Services for Weldon Owen Hutson, 71, of Trinidad are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel in Seven Points.
Burial will follow at Mankin Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points.
Mr. Hutson died March 27, 2003.
He was born April 1, 1931.
Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Louise "Dee Dee" Baxter Aston
Services for Louise "Dee Dee" Baxter Aston, 98, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Eastern Hills Church of Christ, with David Mahan and Lavelle Layfield officiating.
Burial will be in Prairie Point Cemetery in Bazette, under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home.
Mrs. Aston died March 29, 2003, in Athens.
She was born March 6, 1905, in Corsicana and was raised in the Bazette community in Navarro County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Miles Aston in 1965. Known to family and friends as Aunt Dee Dee, she was the last survivor of eight children born to Charles Richard and Maggie Kirk Baxter. Brothers who preceded her in death were Noma Baxter, Clint Baxter, Russell Baxter, Charles Royce Baxter and Richard Warner Baxter. Sisters were Inez Baxter Loftis and Georgianne Baxter Watt.
Dee Dee was always proud to tell the story of how, in 1855, the early Baxter family had settled in and named the community of Baxter Springs, Kan. In the years following the Civil War, the family moved to Texas, eventually settling in Bazette in Navarro County.
Dee Dee Moved to Athens in the late 1940s, after having lived in Wichita Falls and Wink. For many years, she was employed at the Palace Drugstore on the Athens square, and often fondly reminisced about selling the drugstore's fine cosmetics. Dee Dee was quick to remind her family that she had never missed a Bazette picnic at the Prairie Point Cemetery for as long as she could remember. She was a charter member of Robbins Road Church of Christ, now Eastern Hills Church of Christ. She was a member of the Women's Business and Professional Association, Eastern Star, and was a charter member of the Social Order of the Beauceant Assemboly No. 172 in Athens.
She was dearly loved by her numerous nieces and nephews and other family members who survive her.
Pallbearers will be nephews and great-nephews.
Visitation will be 5:30-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
If desired, memorials may be made to Prairie Point Cemetery Permanent Fund.
Margie Frances Buttermore
Services for Margie Frances Buttermore, of Tanglewood, were held 3 p.m. today at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Burial was in the Hugh Wilson Cemetery, under the direction of Phillips & Lucky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Buttermore died March 29, 2003, in her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents and nine siblings -- three sisters and six brothers.
She and her husband, Jack Buttermore lived in Athens 30 years before moving to Tanglewood. They owned the Icehouse Restaurant for about 20 of those years. She spent a lifetime as a homemaker, insurance secretary, business owner and devoted wife and mother. She was an avid golfer and reigned as Lady Club Champion for several years at Athens Country Club. She was also an active member of the Athens Chapter of the order of the Eastern Star, where she was past worthy matron and past deputy grand matron.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Jack Buttermore; daughters and sons-in-law, Mickie Lynn and Jim Archer of Fort Worth, Deborah Sue and Clifton Akin of Tanglewood, Tina Maria and Clay Tompkins of Athens; grandchildren, Deanna Archer, Jacki Hentz and husband Danny, Stacy Akin, Johnnie Akin, Dylan Akin, Matt Tompkins and wife Jennifer, and Lacy Tompkins; great-grandchildren, Mallory Lynn Murphy, Audrye Hammonds and Dustye Hammonds.

Eldon L. Lyda Jr.
Graveside services for Eldon L. Lyda Jr., 62, of Eustace are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Richland/Lyda Cemetery near Marble Falls, with the Rev. George Gatwood officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.
Mr. Lyda was born Jan. 4, 1941, in Marble Falls to Eldon Leon Lyda Sr. and Thelma Lucille Anderson Lyda, and died March 28, 2003, in Athens.
In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Laura Jean Valdez and Dixie Elrod; a son, Lance Leonard Lyda; and a great-uncle, Raymond Anderson. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 until his honorable discharge in 1965. While in the Navy, he was a sonar man. During civilian life he was a pipe stabber in the oil field industry.
Survivors include his mother, Thelma Lucille Lyda of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; daughters, Tracie Lyda and her mother, Pam Kittles of Eustace, Carrie Thompson of Declo, Idaho, Denise Gholson of Mesa, Ariz., Holly Meadows, Kristina Sparks and Ramona Vaughn, all of Oklahoma, Doris Sonntag of Provo, Utah, Tricia Billingsley of Farmington, N.M.; sons, Stevan and Wendell Jessop of Albion, Idaho; 12 granddaughters; 10 grandsons; six great-granchildren; sisters, Janie Gatwood of Florida, LaNell Lyda of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; brother, Lenard Lyda of Farmington, N.M.; numerous nieces and nephews; and close friends, Jimmy Kittles and Don Crowley, both of Athens.

Burial was in the Field of Honor in Cedar Creek Memorial Park in Mabank.
Douglas Earl Thompson
Services for Douglas Earl Thompson, 65, of Trinidad were held 2 p.m. today in Trinity Baptist Church of Trinidad, with Bro. Pennington and Bro. Bailey officiating.
Burial was in Trinidad Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Malakoff.
Mr. Thompson died March 28, 2003, in Tyler.
He was born March 25, 1938, in Kerens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lena Maude Lassiter Thompson; a sister, Doris Elizabeth Bush; and grandson, Dylan William Thompson.
He had lived in the area all his life and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was retired from TU Electric and had worked for West Place Nursing Home for the past eight years.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Mathis Thompson of Trinidad; sons, Melvin Douglas Thompson and Mark Wesley Thompson, both of Trinidad; a sister, Ruby Estelle Crocker of Trinidad; four grandchildren, Chase, Ethan, Hannah and Haven Thompson.
