Clara Borden Reeves
Graveside services for Clara Borden Reeves, 88, of Canton were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at LaRue Cemetery with the Rev. Jack Mills officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Canton.
Mrs. Reeves died July 4, 2003, in Athens.
She was born Nov. 9, 1914, in Brushy Creek in Anderson County to John W. and Susan Frye Gracey.
Mrs. Reeves grew up in the LaRue area and moved to Athens during World War II. In 1957, she moved to Malakoff and had lived in Canton the past 10 years.
He was preceded in death by two children, Charlie Gracey and Juanita Graham; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Arlot "A.G." Reeves of Canton; sons, Bobby Reeves of Dallas and Jack Reeves of Mabank; daughters and son-in-law, Wanda and Joyle McKinney of Canton and Raetta Giles of Chandler; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Vernon C. Skaggs
Services for Vernon C. Skaggs, 79, of Tyler were held at 10 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Jeff Wilson officiating.
Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lloyd James Funeral Home of Tyler.
Mr. Skaggs died Thursday, July 3, 2003, in Tyler after a lengthy illness.
He was born Sept. 21, 1923, in Blackjack.
Mr. Skaggs was a Tyler resident for 53 years. He was a member of First Christian Church, where he served as elder and Sunday school president and on numerous committees.
He was employed for 20 years at American National Insurance Company, had a 20-year employment with Young Motors as a salesman and eventually had his own business, Skaggs Motor Company on Palace in Tyler.
He was past president of Elks of Texas, a member and past president of the Shriners, was involved in the "Jeep Patrol," past worthy patron of the Eastern Star and a member of the Optimic Club. He gave generously of his time and talent in carpentry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Josephine Cantrell Skaggs; and daughter, Joyce Skaggs Helsley.
Mr. Skaggs was survived by his high school sweetheart and wife, Mildred Skaggs of Tyler; son, Ronnie L. Skaggs and wife, Gayland, of Austin; daughter, Jessie I. Tucker of Rochester Hills, Mich.; sister, Fay Douglas of Athens; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were J.B. Burch, John Bostick, Jason Tucker, Mike Helsley, Brian Helsley and James Helsley.
Honorary pallbearers were Doug Colbert and Travis Kent.
Family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Lloyd James Funeral Home in Tyler.

Joseph Daniel Campbell
Memorial services for Joseph Daniel Campbell, 57, of Athens are scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at Cayuga Drive Baptist Church with the Rev. Donnie Ricks officiating.
Mr. Campbell died Oct. 12, 2003, at his home in Athens.
Mr. Campbell was born October 2, 1946 in Griffin, Georgia to Joseph & Myrtis Hoard. He moved to Athens this year from Urbana, Mississippi and was a chef.
He is survived by his daughter, Sherry Dugger of Athens.
Julia D'Ann La Rue
Memorial services for Julia D'Ann La Rue are scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Denton State School in Denton.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Athens Cemetery.
She was the daughter of Beverly La Rue and Frank La Rue Jr.
She was preceded in death by her father; and grandfather, Frank La Rue Sr.
Survivors include her mother, Beverly La Rue of Denver, Colo.; brothers, Michael D. LaRue of Newtown, Pa., and Scott C. La Rue of Athens; grandmother, Dorothy Flagg La Rue of Athens; and aunt, Zuella Porter of Denver, Colo.
Don Kimball
Graveside services for Don Kimball, 84, of Arlington were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Moore Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Wilson officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Mr. Kimball died Oct. 10, 2003, in Arlington.
David Joe Yarbrough
David Joe Yarbrough, 49, of Trinidad died Oct. 11, 2003, in Athens. Services will be scheduled for a later date under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home of Malakoff.
Mr. Yarbrough was born Sept. 2, 1954, in Dallas.
He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his father, Olan Yarbrough, in 1990; and brother, Don Yarbrough, in 1982.
Survivors include his mother, Pat Yarbrough of Trinidad; sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Rickey Elledge of Cross Roads; and brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Judy Yarbrough of Pauls Valley, Okla.
William Valmore Rogers
Graveside services for William Valmore Rogers, 92, of Malakoff are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Malakoff Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Webb officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.
Mr. Rogers died Sept. 10, 2004, in an Athens nursing home.
He was born Oct. 19, 1911, in Stockard to William Ernest and Lura Settie Rogers.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ina Syble Rogers, in July 2000; and son, Settie Rogers.
Mr. Rogers was a member and charter deacon of First Baptist Church of Malakoff. Mr. Rogers was a former owner operator of Malakoff Truck Body Manufacturing Company and a local lumber yard. Mr. Rogers was a longtime member of Malakoff Masonic Lodge No. 759 AF & AM.
Survivors include his sons, William Troy Rogers, Michael S. Rogers and his wife, Mary, Dr. David Rogers and wife, Brenda and Lawrence T. Rogers and his wife, Laura; daughters, Ellen Rogers Williams and Norma Rogers Grogan and her husband, John; brothers, Lowell Rogers and Reagan Rogers and his wife, Betty; sisters, Norma Whitton, Audry Ferguson, and Jean Bost; grandchildren, Kevin Rogers, Renee McCarty, Todd Williams, Craig Williams, Melanie Palmer, Daniel Rogers, Samuel Rogers, Carla Rogers, Jennifer Rogers, Melinda Rogers, Lane Russell and Lark Rogers; and great-grandchildren, Megan and Drake McCarty, Christa and Emily Williams, Payton and Dalton Williams and Christopher Russell.
Members of Malakoff Masonic Lodge No. 759, AF&AM will act as honorary pallbearers.

Edward Lee 'Fast Eddie' Alexander Vest
Edward Lee "Fast Eddie" Alexander Vest, 56, a retired auto and motorcycle mechanic, died Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2004, at his residence in Weatherford.
Edward Lee Alexander Vest was a beloved father, grandfather and friend. He was gifted in working with his hands and a retired Hell's Angel from 1975.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his sons, Heath D. Dean and wife, Dawn, of Lubbock and Dakota Henyan of Weatherford; daughters, Kayla J. Henyan of Lubbock and Christy Vest of Lubbock; granddaughters, Christian and Trinity; aunt, Patsy Puryear of Lubbock. He is also survived by his "brothers" The Hell's Angels and The Booze Fighters; and a host of other friends.
