Services for Lorene Kirksey, 89, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with Charles Kenneth Butler officiating.
Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.
Mrs. Kirksey died Nov. 11, 2001, in Athens.
She was born Nov. 16, 1911, in Blooming Grove to Marlin and Mary Crouch Renfro.
Mrs. Kirksey was a resident of Henderson County since 1919. She was a member of Eastern Hills Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Hugh Kirksey, in 1991; parents; and sister, Allie Pearl Bass.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Hugh C. and Clarice Kirksey of Frankston; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Charles Butler of Midlothian; brother, Ervin H. Renfro of Realitos; sister, Huldah Pate of Livingston; grandchildren, Kristin Kirksey, Charles Kenneth Butler, Curtis Butler and Kevin Butler; and one great-grandson.
Family will receive friends from 5-6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
Texie Owen
Services for Texie Owen, 96, of Athens are scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Foster & Brown Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Miller officiating.
Burial will follow at New York Cemetery under the direction of Foster & Brown Funeral Home of Athens.
Mrs. Owen died Nov. 11, 2001, in Athens.
She was born Feb. 4, 1905, in Henderson County to William Parker and Melinda Keys Parker.
Mrs. Owen lived in Henderson County until 1946, when she moved to Dallas. She returned to Athens last year. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ezra Owen; and son, Gerry lain Owen.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Ezra D. and Carol Owen of Dallas; daughter and son-in-law, Jewell and David Till of Athens; grandchildren and spouses, David Lain and Charla Till of Athens, Denise and Billy McClung of Plano, Kyle Wayne Owen of Irving, Lisa Owen of Dallas, Gerry Lain Jr. and Laura Owen of Richardson, Mike and Sharon Owen of Garland and Darleen and Dennis Chestnut of Allen; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Billy McClung, Gerry Owen, Mike Owen and Kyle Owen.
Dorothy "Dot' Whitnah
Services for Dorothy "Dot' Whitnah, 89, of Athens are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Eastern Hills Church of Christ with David Mahan and Dan Rogers officiating
Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.
Mrs. Whitnah died Nov. 9, 2001, in Athens.
She was born May 1, 1912, in Holly Grove, Ark., to Whit Jarman and Paula Hall Miles.
Mrs. Whitnah was a graduate of University of Tennessee School of Nursing and did residency at Gartley Ramsey Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She worked for 15 years as an industrial registered nurse for Aluminum Company of American in Bauxite, Ark. After retiring to Athens in 1978, she became a member of Eastern Hills Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Erwin Whitnah, in 1980.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Arthur Miles and Vi Whitnah of Washington, D.C., and Paul Raymond Whitnah of Arlington; grandchildren, Sherri VanOver, Jeffrey Whitnah and Keith Whitnah; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will include James Currington, Gary Smith, Leon Wakefield, Dwain Purselley, Bill Park and Hugh Finley.

Larry D. Wright
Services for Larry D. Wright, 48, of Dallas were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Eubank Memorial Chapel in Mabank with the Rev. Don Teague officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Mr. Wright died Nov. 10, 2001, in Kaufman.
He was born Dec. 15, 1952, in Dallas to Alvin and Jackie Crisp Wright.
Mr. Wright was a lifetime resident of Dallas. He was a Methodist. He was employed by Associated Air-Love Field in Dallas. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served four years in Thailand.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Wright; and brother, Roger Wright.
Survivors include his mother, Jackie Swindle of Kaufman; stepfather, Tony Swindle of Kaufman; and other family members.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to a charity of choice.
Harold Bennett

Kenneth Curtis
Graveside services for Kenneth Curtis, 70, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at Rome Cemetery with the Rev. O.E. Davis officiating. Arrangements will be under the direction of Foster & Brown Funeral Home of Athens.
Mr. Curtis died Oct. 10, 2002, in Athens.
He was born April 20, 1922, in Athens to George and Addie Benson Curtis.
Mr. Curtis was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Curtis; and sister, Nelda Burden.
Survivors include his brothers, Bill Lowery of Athens and Cecil Edward Lowery of Greenville; sister, Wanda Sue Smith of Bernard; and several stepchildren, nieces, nephews and stepgrandchildren.
Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Vera Ivie

Mrs. Ivie died Oct. 11, 2002, in Mesquite.
She was born Sept. 20, 1911, in Emory to Billy and Lizzy Hendricks Dixon.
Mrs. Ivie was a homemaker and was a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Olin Ivie; daughter, Betty Brouch; and son, Olin Dewayne Ivie.
Survivors include her son, Danny Kersh of Dallas; son and daughter-in-law, Jesselee and Conrada Ivie of Dallas; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Jeff Smart of Fairfield and Ciccy and Bart Rogers of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Clayton Couch, Bart Roger Sr., Stacy Newsom, Robby Cote, Lynn Smalley and Lee Boy Mathis.
