Bobby Ray Green
Services for Bobby Ray Green, 67, of St. Elmo are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Monday at New Hope Baptist Church in St. Elmo with Dr. Elton McCann officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Elmo Cemetery under the direction of Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home of Corsicana.
Mr. Green died Oct. 10, 2002, in St. Elmo.
He was born Oct. 16, 1934, in Ralls.
Mr. Green attended New Hope Baptist Church. He was a member of the U.S. Navy Hurricane Hunters Association during his 20 years in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the St. Elmo Masonic Lodge. He was also a charter member of the Southern Oaks Volunteer Fire Department. He worked with the Tarrant County Water District for over 10 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Derrell L. Green; brother, Derrell Lee Green Jr.; and sister, Billie Vance.
Survivors include his wife, Beth Green of St. Elmo; mother, Louise Green of Denver City; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Dawn Marie Green of Milton, Fla., Bryan and Jennifer Green of Palestine, Daenan and Mary Green of Indiana and Bruce Green of Virginia Beach, Va.; stepson, Cory Moore of Pascagoula, Miss.; daughter, Bobette Walker of Odessa; stepdaughters, Kimberly Knight of Streetman and Renee Arias of Amarillo; sisters, Ruth Morris of Denver City, Frances Moore of Yukon, Okla., Nelda Rickells of Denver City and Berti Couch of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John Allen, Earl Dieterich, Bob Bodiford, Carl Ward, Lonnie Byers and Wade Schnell.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Joyce Ann Vaden
Graveside services for Joyce Ann Vaden, 63, of Mabank are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Cedar Creek Memorial Park with Mark Cobern officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Eubank Cedar Creek Funeral Home of Mabank.
Mrs. Vaden died Oct. 10, 2002, in Tyler.
She was born May 19, 1939, in Wellington.
Mrs. Vaden was a beautician.
Survivors include her husband, William Vaden of Mabank; sons, Branden Vaden of Grand Saline, Robert Vaden of Mabank and Shannon Vaden of Canton; grandchildren, Brandi Lee Ann of Athens and Blake Reid Vaden of Grand Saline; and one great-granddaughter.

Robert L. Brooks
Memorial services for Robert L. Brooks, 75, of Athens were held at 11 a.m. Monday at Mr. Brooks' Home. Arrangements were under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.
Mr. Brooks died Dec. 12, 2002, in Athens.
He was born May 7, 1927, in Olton to Evan and Cloey Franks Brooks.
Mr. Brooks was a resident of Athens for 15 years. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He was a retired truck driver. For a number of years he was responsible for setting up the wrestling rings for the Von Eric family with the National Wrestling Alliance.
Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James Brooks and Johnny Brooks; sisters, Mildred Rickman and Ruth Perkins; and daughter, Betty Jean Brooks.
Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Brooks of Athens; son and daughter-in-law, Roy Lee and Brenda Brooks of Athens; sisters, Mary McGraw of Amarillo, Elsie Scott of Lubbock, Faye Wilson of Athens and Janie Seeders of Fort Worth; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Etherene Thomas Crow
Services for Etherene Thomas Crow, 82, of the Baxter community are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lynn Parker officiating.
Burial will follow at Alligator Cemetery under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.
Mrs. Crow died Dec. 15, 2002, in Athens.
She was born Nov. 18, 1920, in Henderson County to John B. and Frances Breedlove Thomas.
Mrs. Crow grew up in the Baxter community and later lived in Dallas for 10 years, where she worked at a licensed beautician. She owned and operated Cameo Coiffeurs. She returned to Baxter in 1970 and worked as a waitress at Ole West Steakhouse for 13 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackson L. Crow; brothers, Reagan Thomas, Felton Thomas, James Wayne Thomas and Weldon Thomas; and sister, Frankie Fazande.
Survivors include sons and daughter-in-law, Jackson L. and Kathy Crow of Duncanville and John R. Crow of Belton; daughter, Suzanne McAlpin of LaRue; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Irvin Hall, Harold Holyfield, John David Fazande, David Fazande, Chris Taylor and Roy Childs.

Raymond Ewell Garland

Mr. Garland died Dec. 13, 2002, in Tyler.
Previously of Dallas, he was a resident of this area for 14 years. He was a member of the Mormon church and also the Masonic Lodge No. 726 in Scurry.
He was preceded in death by parents, Harold Raymond and Bessie Lee Nottingham Garland; and mother of his children, Roxie Norwood Garland.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Beryl Elizabeth Thompson Garland of Seven Points; children, Raymond Garland Jr. of Kemp, Donald Garland of Kemp, Carolyn E. Webb of Southlake, Diana S. Long of Dallas, L. Jean Jolly of Grand Prairie, D. Gail Sturdevant of Seven Points, Twilla A. Burrow of Kemp and Deborah K. Duncan of Quinlan; stepdaughter, Tammy Smith of Plano; brother, Claude Garland of Lancaster; sister, Dorothy Ullom of Arkansas; 22 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.

Janet Stamps Guess
Services for Janet Stamps Guess, 85, of Athens were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Fellowship Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Dean officiating.
Burial followed at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.
Mrs. Guess died Dec. 13, 2002, in Athens.
She was born Jan. 11, 1917, in Neuville to Albert and Nancy Elizabeth Wilson Buckner.
Mrs. Guess graduated high school in Silsbee and earned a licensed vocational nursing degree at Tyler Junior College. While a resident of Tyler from 1934 to 1981, she worked as a realtor and as an LVN at Tyler hospitals. She was also a licensed beautician and owned her own salon. She was a former member of First Christian Church in Tyler and was presently a member of Fellowship Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Paris Stamps, in 1989; parents; two brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include her husband, Louie Guess of Athens; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Sam Fowler and Sue and Dr. Jim Syler, all of Athens; sisters-in-law, LaNelle Stamps Hart of Tyler; grandchildren, Randy Fowler, Kevin Fowler, Todd Fowler, Dr. Sellen Syler van der Colff, Mary Syler and Summer Syler Johnson; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers included Randy Fowler, Kevin Fowler, Todd Fowler, Mark Syler, Chris van der Colff, Ryan Fowler, Patrick Jester and Colby Jester.
Honorary pallbearers were the men's Sunday school class at Fellowship Baptist Church.
