Michael Lee Richardson
Services for Michael Lee Richardson, 25, of the Baxter community were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lake Athens Baptist Church with the Rev. Brian Adair officiating.
Burial followed at Davis Cemetery under the direction of Foster & Brown Funeral Home of Athens.
Michael passed away Sept. 30, 2000, at his residence in the Baxter community from complications due to lifelong health problems.
He was born Aug. 22, 1975, in Athens. He was the son of Larry and Louise Richardson.
He was a 1994 graduate of Athens High School. Michael was the manager for Auto Zone in Palestine, having worked for the company for the past six and one-half years. He was a Baptist.
Michael is remembered by his family and friends as being a giving, loyal and faithful friend who went far above the necessary to express how much he cared. He could be counted upon to be available for any need and make it seem like no big deal. He always did it with a smile and a twinkle in his blue eyes.
He looked for the humor in life to enjoy each moment. His life may have been short on earth, but the time was magnified by his enjoyment of life. Michael was a devoted son and brother. His closeness to all his family was shown by the importance he placed on any family event. He missed very few and regretted those he missed.
Michael was loved by all his family and friends, and we will miss him very much.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lee Ann Richardson; grandparents, Claude and Artie Mae Richardson; and grandfathers, Cecil Ward and Robert Wayne Hedrick.
He is survived by his mother and father, Larry and Louise Richardson of the Baxter community; brother, Mark Richardson of the Baxter community; sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Jeff Dingler of LaRue; two nieces, Jessica and Layne Dingler of LaRue; nephew, Luke Dingler of LaRue; grandmother, Alice Ward of Athens; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Richardson, Brent Miller, Jason Miller, Kevin Ward, Dusty Ward and Terry Fowler.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jaime Fernandez, Josh Disotell, Snapper Pierce, Mike Swan, Russell Paige, Kyle Pastorius, Jerry Pugh, Brad Burton, Daniel Johnson, Roger Richardson, Russell Richardson, Tom Smith, Stewart Smith and Corbett Means.
Margie Peeler
Services for Margie Peeler, 75, of Malakoff are pending for Monday with Ed C. Smith Funeral Home in Dallas.
Mrs. Peeler died Feb. 18, 2000, in Palmer.
She was born Dec. 7, 1924, in Moberly, Mo., to Odis and Nellie Bates.
Mrs. Peeler was a member of First Baptist Church in Malakoff. She enjoyed gardening and working outdoors.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Jeanne Jordan; three sisters and two brothers-in-law; one brother and one sister-in-law, Donnie and Sue Bates; three grandchildren, Terry Jordan, Tony Jordan and Tammy Grimes; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Larry Wegner
Services for Larry Wegner of the Cedar Creek Lake area are pending with Tomlinson Funeral Home of Seven Points.
Mr. Wegner died Feb. 18, 2000, in Tyler.
Larkin P. Warren
Services for Larkin P. Warren, 90, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Foster & Brown Chapel with the Rev. Richard Palmer officiating.
Burial will follow at Oaklawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Foster & Brown Funeral Home of Athens.
Mr. Warren died Nov. 15, 1999, in Athens.
He was born June 8, 1909, in Catfish to William Gaines and Ella Featherston Warren. He was a retired pipe fitter for American Oil Inc., in Texas City. He was a lifelong resident of Henderson County and a member of Wesley Methodist Church.
Mr. Warren was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Birdie Nash Warren on May 28, 1989; and son, Larkin Power Warren Jr., on July 12, 1993.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Lura Nell and Rita J. Warren of Lufkin and Roland C. and Linda Warren of Bakersfield, Calif.; daughters and sons-in-law, Lura Nell and William Troy Pillow of Athens and Nancy Elizabeth and Gilbert Anthony Civaglia of Athens; sister, Phyllis Adams of LaPryor; brothers, Jim Bob Warren Sr. of Athens and Woodrow Warren of Athens; daughter-in-law Carolene Kay Warren of Hitchcock; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Michael D. Warren, Jim Bob "Trey" Warren, Jerry J. Warren, William Lawrence Warren, Gary Warren and Jefferson Clay Allen.
Visitation is scheduled for all day Wednesday at the funeral home.
Carey Dion Jackson
A memorial for Carey Dion Jackson, 34, of Fort Worth is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at Williams Funeral Chapel in Malakoff. Services for Mr. Jackson are scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Malakoff.
Burial will follow in Steen Cemetery in Malakoff under the direction of Williams Funeral Home in Malakoff.
Mr. Jackson died Nov. 12, 1999, in Fort Worth.
He was born April 18, 1965, in Malakoff. He was a warehouse coordinator for Quality Logistics Services.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his devoted companion, Norma Hubbard; brothers, George, Randall and Kervin Jackson and William and Freddie Smith; sisters, Glenda Coleman, Melba Hannah, Gayla Lyons, Yolanda Jackson, Lynn Jackson, Nettie Dawson, Essie Smith, Eddie Smith and Erma Chance; great-grandmother, Agnes Jackson; and many other relatives.
Mary Sue Phillips
Services for Mary Sue Phillips, 75, of Athens will be held a 2 p.m. Thursday in the Eubank Memorial Chapel in Mabank with the Rev. Carl Holt officiating.
Interment will following the Payne Springs Cemetery in Payne Springs under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home.
Mrs. Phillips died Monday, Nov. 15, 1999, in Athens
She was born March 2, 1924, in Payne Springs to James and Vidie Davis Sutherlin.
Mrs. Phillips was a lifelong resident of Henderson County and a member of the Rebekahs Lodge.
Survivors include her son, Truman Ray Phillips of Kent, Wash.; sister, Arline McCaray of Dallas; two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of friends.
Family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. at the Eubank Funeral Home of Mabank.
Kelly Lambright
Services for Kelly Lambright, 25, of LaRue scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel in Athens.
Burial will be in the Carroll Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Lambright died Feb. 19, 2000, at East Texas Medical Center Tyler.
He was born July 13, 1974, in Corsicana but resided in Henderson County most of his life. He was a graduate of Athens High School, attended Trinity Valley Community College and was employed at Target Stores Inc. in Tyler.
Survivors include his parents, Larry and Mary Sue Lambright of LaRue; paternal grandmother, Jewel Lambright of LaRue; maternal grandfather, Bud Graham of White Oak; uncles and aunts, Junior and Teresa Graham, Lonnie Graham, Robert Graham, Russ and Melody Griffith, Howard and Virginia Keys, Eva Hanks; and numerous cousins.
Pallbearers include Charlie Thompson, Frank McCallum, Randy Perkins, Jerry Willingham, Jerold Lambright and Chad Grace.
Honorary pallbearers are Robbie Joe Graham, Zabe Truesdale and Sean McGehee.
