Thomas Olen Abercrombie
Services for Thomas Olen Abercrombie, 79, of Eustace, were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home Chapel in Kemp with Lester Regan officiating.
Burial followed in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Scurry under the direction of Anderson Clayton Bros. Funeral Home of Kemp.
Mr. Abercrombie died May 19, 2000, in Tyler.
He was born April 3, 1921, in Rains County to Thomas Jefferson and Magnolia Jacobs Abercrombie.
Mr. Abercrombie was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie O. Abercrombie, in 1986; and brother, Doug Abercrombie.
Survivors include his wife, Frances M. Abercrombie of Eustace; sons and daughter-in-law, Thomas Olen Jr. and Brenda Abercrombie of Garland and James Andrews of Carrolton; daughter, Janice Hardy of Plano; brothers, Harold Abercrombie of Lewisville, Chester Ray Abercrombie of Grand Prairie and Waymon Abercrombie of Sulfur Springs; sister, Loreda Baucom of Richardson; sister-in-law, Betty Abercrombie of Dallas; grandchildren, Jeff Abercrombie of Garland, Jim Abercrombie of Garland, Chad Hardy of San Antonio, Jeremy Hardy of Jacksonville Fla., Stephen Hardy of Plano and Tonya Mitchell of Alba; and two great-grandchildren.

Herman W. Adkins
Services for Herman W. Adkins, 74, of Brownsboro are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday in Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim Lea officiating.
Graveside services and burial will be held at Smith's Chapel Cemetery in DeKalb County Ala.
Mr. Adkins died May, 19, 2000, in Athens.
He was born Feb. 12, 1926, in DeKalb County, Ala. to Enoch Smith and Ada Lou Boydston Atkins. He lived in Brownsboro for 20 years and attended Opelika Baptist Church. He was a driver for Greyhound for 37 years before he retired in 1985. Mr. Adkins was a World War II Veteran of the United States Army Air Corp.
Mr. Adkins was preceded in death by two brothers, Lee Conrad and J.C. Adkins.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Adkins of Brownsboro; sons and daughters-in-law, Don E. and Wilma Adkins, Sr. of Jasper, Tenn., Gary L. and Peggy Adkins of Harrison, Tenn.; daughter, Patricia Ann Williams of Nashville, Tenn.; brother, Richard Adkins of Ider, Ala.; sisters, Lona Mea Albertson, Marie Close and Edna Rae Burson, all of Ider, Ala., Merle Lavelle of Clarks, Neb.; six grandchildren two great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will include Ronnie Voyles, Billy Voyles, Raymond Kidd, Joe Cantrell, Kenneth Miller and Terry Wayne Miller.
Honorary pallbearers will be Winston Reagan, Buford Walker and Neville Soloman.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday at the Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

George R. "Bob' Cossey
Graveside services for George R. "Bob" Cossey, 81, of Kerens were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Kerens Cemetery with Jimmy Glenn officiating.
Burial followed at Paschal Cemetery in Kerens under the direction of Paschal Funeral Home Inc., of Kerens.
Mr. Cossey died May 19, 2000, in Waco.
He was born Jan. 5, 1919, in Sands Springs, Okla. Mr. Cossey was a veteran of World War II.
Mr. Cossey was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Vivian Cossey; grandparents, Bob and Eva Bruner; and brother, Hollis Cossey.
Survivors include his wife, Lelia Cossey of Kerens; daughters and sons-in-law, Darlyn Darrell Olsen of Corsicana, Gail Cossey of Valley Ranch, Bobbi Jo and Tony Hammac of Athens, Terri and Henry Tompkins of Athens and Kim and Scott Spencer of Kerens; grandchildren, Traci and Greg Olsen of College Station, Scotti and Alli Spencer of Kerens, and Chase Tompkins and Alex Hammac of Athens.
Pallbearers will include Darrell Olsen, Tony Hammac, Henry Thompkins, Scott Spencer, Greg Olsen, Chase Tompkins, and Steve Reamer.

Mattie Pearl Holloway
Services for Mattie Pearl Holloway, 86, of Athens were held at 2 p.m. Monday at Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel in Malakoff with the Rev. Howard Holloway officiating.
Burial followed at Malakoff Cemetery under the direction of Tomlinson Funeral Home.
Mrs. Holloway died May, 20, 2000, in Athens.
She was born May 29, 1913, to Mr. and Mrs. Beauchamp.
She was a member of the 7103 Lady's Auxiliary of Athens, a homemaker, and a Baptist.
Mrs. Holloway was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George I. Holloway; and son, Roy I. Holloway.
Survivors include her son; Danny Glen Holloway of Athens; daughters, Jessie Holloway of Garland, Loris Waters of Grand Prairie, Bonnie Holloway of Athens and Gail Holloway of Athens; brothers, Calvin Beauchamp of Seven Points and Cecil Beauchamp of Lancaster; seven grandchildren;, four great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren

Rupert C. Howard
Services for Rupert C. Howard, 89, of Kaufman are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Kaufman with the Revs. Irvan Anthony and Al Prier officiating.
Burial will follow in the Kaufman cemetery under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home of Mabank.
Mr. Howard died May 20, 2000, in Kaufman.
He was born Dec. 23, 1910, in Scurry to William Henry and Mary Jane Keys Howard.
He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church in Kaufman for 30 years. Mr. Howard was a veteran of the United States Navy from 1944-1947.
Mr. Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Howard, in 1996; grandson, Jimmie Howard; two brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include his sons, Charles Howard of Addison and Larry Howard of Mesquite; daughter, Marcia Lefler of Quinlan, grandchildren, Lisa Hoyt, Russ Howard, Kelly Howard, and Donny Howard; and seven great grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at Anderson-Clayton Funeral Home in Kaufman Monday from 6-8 p.m.

Eric "Butch' Kirby
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday for Eric "Butch" Kirby of Irving at St. Luke's Catholic Church with Father Doug Deshotel officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens under the direction of Brown's Memorial Funeral Home of Irving.
A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at Brown's Memorial Funeral Home.
Mr. Kirby died May 20, 2000.
He was a life-long resident of Irving and a member of Nimitz High School's class of "78.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Kirby of Irving; parents, Charles Kirby of Arp and Martha and James Grunenwald of Athens; children, Ryan Kirby of Irving and Jordan Kirby of Calif.; stepchildren, Andrew Mata, Enrique Mata, Jeanette Reyes and Christopher Reyes, all of Irving; brothers and sisters, Becky Waltman of Hickory Creek, Benita Littleton of Athens, Denise Weishuan of Fayettville, Kyle Kirby of Irving, Elizabeth Grunenwald of Grand Prairie and Tracy Kirby and Scott Kirby of Emory; grandparents, Elzia Kirby, Mary Kirby and Verna Kirby, all of Emory, and Patsene Kirby of Arp; grandchildren, Marissa Mata, Enrique Mata Jr., Angelica Mata, Alexis Mata, Andrew Mata Jr. and Jasmine Mata.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Chuck "Butch' Lawless
Services for Chuck "Butch" Lawless, 57, of Chula Vista, Calif., will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Jacksonville with the Rev. Harold Lansford officiating.
Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park in Jacksonville under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.
Mr. Lawless died May 16, 2000, in Chula Vista.
He was born Aug. 3, 1942, in Antlers, Okla.
He graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1966. Mr. Lawless was a former member and choir director at First Christian Church in Huntsville as well as a former member and choir director of First Christian Church in Jacksonville. He was also a former assistant director of education at the Texas Department of Corrections in Huntsville. He was employed at Thompson Funeral Home in Jacksonville. At the time of his death, Mr. Thompson was the owner of a delicatessen in San Diego, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Pearl Lawless; son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Kelly Lawless of Athens; daughters and son-in-law, Shannon and Blake Price of Jacksonville, and Nicole and Lauren Lawless of Chula Vista, Calif.; brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Susan Lawless of Dallas; grandchildren, Brooke Ashleigh Price of Jacksonville and Jordan Taylor Lawless of Athens; and one niece, Beth Lawless of San Diego, Calif.
Pallbearers include Blake Price, Chuck Thompson, Al Reynolds, Billy Luce, Brandon Luce, and Nathan Reynolds.
Honorary pallbearer will be Bob Kettrick.
Family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
