Mack Dwayne Phillips
Funeral services for Mack Dwayne Phillips, age 81, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, January 26th, 2019 at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Steve Cook and Johnny Darrow officiating.
Visitation will be held at West Oaks Funeral Home from 6-8 on Friday, January 25th 2019.
Interment will follow Saturday services at Miller Grove cemetery with nephews, Brad Phillips, Chuck Phillips, Brandon Crowson, Heath Darrow, Justin Darrow, and Brandon Darrow as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are The Wesleyan Sunday school class at Wesley United Methodist Church.
Mack Dwayne Phillips was born October 6th, 1947 to Boyd Phillips and Nina Coker.
He graduated from North Hopkins High School.
On July 18th, 1959, he married Betty Darrow in Miller Grove, Texas.
Mack and Betty lived in the same house at 111 Goodman for 52 years where they raised their three children.
They then moved to the South Liberty community.
Mack worked for Texas Power and Light, Carnation Milk Company, TXU mining, and Phillips Electric.
He served on the North Hopkins Scholarship Foundation Board.
He was a past member of Shirley Water Board and long-time member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs, Texas.
He loved his church and served in many capacities over the years.
In his spare time, he loved to work, spend time with family and friends, as well as go on camping trips.
He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years; a son, Mark Phillips, and wife, Allison of Sulphur Bluff, Texas; daughter, Lisa Phillips of Sulphur Springs, Texas; and son, Michael Phillips of Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico; grandchildren, Erin Neill and husband, Josh of Alba, Texas; Jack Phillips of Sulphur Bluff, and scheduled to arrive in May 2019 great-grandson, Graham Neill; brother, David Phillips and wife, Dannie of Cooper, Texas; sister, Wanda Trusty and husband, Mickey of Sulphur Springs, Texas; step-sister, Mary Chaney from Alba, Texas; as well as many nephews, nieces, loved ones and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother, his father and infant sister, Patricia Elizabeth; as well as his step-father, A.G. Oxford and step-siblings, Nancy Bowles, Virginia Kesel and Joe Oxford.
Mack spent a total of 63 days at Texas Health Presbyterian of Dallas who’s staff worked diligently to diagnose and treat vasculitis and other resulting conditions.
Thank you to the team of Doctors, Nurses, Counselors and Staff.

Gwynn B. Johnston
Funeral services for Gwynn B. Johnson, 86, of Sulphur Springs, are pending with Tapp Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnston passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
Mitzie White
Funeral service for Mitzie White, age 85, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2020, with Rev. C.J. Duffey officiating.
Interment will follow at Bright Star Cemetery, Wills Point, Texas.
Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. White passed away September 25, 2020, at Sunny Springs Nursing & Rehab.
Mitzie was born July 25, 1935, in Greenville, Texas, to A.T. and Cleo (Yeattes) Landreth.
She married Raymond White in 1955 in Rockwall, Texas.
He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker and a member of Colorblind Ministries.
She is survived by her son, Johnny White, daughters; Deborah Scott and Penny Aydelott, grandchildren, Johnny White, Jenny White, Collie Huskins, Tommy White, Eric Osburn, Derek Gholson, Amanda Yarbrough, Kendall Woodall, Josh Fite and Adam Fite; twenty-five great-children; one great-great-grandchild; and a brother, Scotty Landreth.
Mitzie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Butch and Mark White; daughter, Robin Fite; sister, Billie Vanwey; and brothers, Lucky and Tommy Landreth.
Lonnie Lewis
Lonnie Lewis, of Sulphur Springs, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at his residence.
Arrangements are pending with Murray Orwosky Funeral Home.
Freddie Lee McIntosh
Funeral services for Freddie Lee McIntosh, 88, of Sulphur Bluff, will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at Mason & Mason Mortuary. Interment will be at Mel Haven Cemetery in Sulphur Springs.
Mr. McIntosh was retired after working many years as a landscape gardener for Hopkins County.
Sally Ann Krantz
Funeral services for Sally Ann Krantz, 66, of Winnsboro, will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 16, 2008, at the Beaty Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery in Franklin County.
Mrs. Krantz worked for AMCO Oil Company.
She was a member of Grace Fellowship Ministries of Winnsboro.
Virginia Sue Mason
Funeral services for Sue Mason, 64, of Sulphur Springs, will be 2:00 pm Thursday, May 15, 2008, at Murray Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeway Cemetery.
Mrs. Mason was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Wanda R. Malone
Funeral services for Wanda R. Malone, 67, of Brashear, will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs.
A private burial will be conducted by Jones-Walker & Son Funeral Home of Commerce.
Mrs. Malone worked as an optical assistant for many years, and as a funeral assistant at Jones-Walker and Sons Funeral Home in Commerce.
Luther J. Goggans
Masonic and military graveside services for Luther J. Goggans, 83, of Dallas, formerly of Hopkins County, will be 11:00 am Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Tira Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Murray Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mr. Goggans retired from the U.S. Air Force, after serving 23 years.
During WWII, he made 18 trips over Japan as a bombardier and tail gunner in B29s.
He also retired from Texas Instruments after 18 years.
Sibyl C. Gafford
Graveside services for Sibyl C. Gafford, 91, of Dallas, formerly of Hopkins County, will be 3:00 pm Sunday, May 11, 2008, at Shooks Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Gafford was a homemaker and a member of Shooks Chapel United Methodist Church.
Anna Lou Hill
Graveside services for Anna Lou Hill, 96, of Yantis, will be 2:00 pm Sunday, May 11, 2008, at the Yantis City Cemetery.

Mrs. Hill was a farmer, housewife, and a member of County Line Baptist Church.
R.L. Rawson
Funeral services for R.L. ‘Roy Lee’ Rawson, 87, of Sulphur Springs, will be 3:00 pm Sunday, May 11, 2008, at Murray Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow at Shooks Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Rawson owned and operated a dairy farm for 40 years in Martin Springs and Winnsboro.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII.
He was a deacon in Martin Springs Baptist Church and later served at Pine Tree Baptist Church in Winnsboro.
Lollis Lee Allen
Graveside services for Lollis Lee Allen, 81, of Joshua, will be 2:00 pm Friday, May 9, 2008, at Willard Cemetery.
Beaty Funeral Home of Winnsboro is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Allen was a veteran of the U.S. Army, a retired truck driver, and a member of South Garland Baptist Church.
Phillip M. ‘Pete’ McDonald
Funeral services for Phillip M. ‘Pete’ McDonald, 82, of Sulphur Springs, will be 2:00 pm Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Murray Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will be at Reilly Springs Cemetery.
Mr. McDonald was a farmer, cattleman, and owned McDonald Grocery and Feed for 42 years.
He served in the United States Army and was a member of Southside Church of Christ.
Lonzra Arnold Alsobrooks
Memorial services for Lonzra Arnold Alsobrooks, 52, of Sulphur Springs, will be 1:00 pm Monday, May 12, 2008, in West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Alsobrooks was a member of the Morning Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.
He served his country in the U.S. Army.
Harriet Casey
Harriet Casey, 89, of Sulphur Springs, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008, at Hopkins House.
