Denna Riley
Funeral services for Denna Riley, age 57, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015 at League Street Church of Christ with Rev. Mike Eason officiating.
Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Mike Comer, Marlon Comer, Kenny Comer, Brandon Blevins, Reggie Blevins, Jr., Brad Horton and Brian Adams serving as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are Kyle Green, Alex Peek, Bradley Peek, Anthony Pennington and Tristen Pennington.
Visitation will be held from (Noon) 12:00 – 2:00 p.m., prior to the service at the church.
Denna passed away on Monday, May 19, 2015 at Sunny Springs Nursing Home.
She was born on November 11, 1957, the daughter of Virgil Lincoln and Lois Bernice (Sutton) Robinson in Commerce.
She was a homemaker and a member of the League Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include daughters, Joanna Bailey of Sulphur Springs, and Christina Pennington and husband, Jason of Sulphur Springs; sons, Tony Peek of Sulphur Springs, Jacob Riley of Sulphur Springs, and Justin Riley and wife, Jennifer of Sulphur Springs; sisters, Ermal Williams of Saltillo, Juanita Williams of Sulphur Springs, Mary Stonaker of Sulphur Springs, Suela Hearn of Pickton and Theresa Blevins of Sulphur Springs; brothers, Jimmy Robinson of Sulphur Springs, and Gary Robinson of Alba; grandchildren, Kyle Green, Alex Peek, Bradley Peek, Brook Peek, Shane Woodfin, Jaydon Peek, Harley Boles, Sidney Boles, Anthony Pennington, Tristen Pennington, Aiden Riley, Issac Riley and Eli Riley and great-grandchildren, Zakaylan Peek, Alex Peek, Jr., Jacelynn Simmons and Brynlie Swann.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Marvin Robinson.

Funeral services for Billy Jack Broyles, age 70, of Brashear, are pending with Tapp Funeral Home.
Mr. Broyles passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Brashear.
Brandon Bernard White
Brandon Bernard White, age 33, of Alba, passed away at his residence Sunday morning, Aug. 23, 2015.
He was born Dec. 1, 1981, in Ft. Worth, to Shawn Carl and Jonnie Mae Waters White.
He worked as a veterinary technician.
Survivors: Parents; and grandmother, Lydia Waters of Ft. Worth.
No service planned at this time.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Larry L. Riley
Larry L. Riley, age 66, passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 at Legend Healthcare and Rehab, in Paris, TX.
Arrangements are pending with West Oaks Funeral Home.
Stephen Longino Bonner
A service to celebrate the life of Stephen Longino Bonner, 63, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wed. at First Baptist Church, with the Reverend Dr. David Hardage officiating.
The family will receive visitors from 6 – 8 p.m. Tues. at West Oaks Funeral Home.
“Bubba” was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Lou Jane Longino Bonner and Daniel Edwin Bonner.
He was the grandson of D. R. and Naomi Addams Bonner and Dr. S. Byrd and Una Lou Carothers Longino.
He married Catherine Cobb Brandon on March 18, 1978.
He is survived by his wife, his mother, and his two children and their spouses: Catherine Carroll Bonner Crowson and her husband, Grady Jack Crowson, of Woodway, Texas; Edwin Benning Longino Bonner and his wife, Megan Leah Vogt Bonner, of Lincoln, Nebraska; three grandchildren: Mac Edwin Holt Bonner and Brooks Edwin Vogt Bonner, of Lincoln, Nebraska; and Grady Jack Crowson, Jr., of Woodway, Texas; two brothers: Dr. Daniel Edwin Bonner, Jr., and his wife, Sue Smith Bonner; Byrd Lowry Bonner and his wife, Patty Riggle Bonner; six nieces and nephews and their families; three cousins and their families.
Pallbearers are Perry Altenbaumer, Tim Glenn, Dr. James B. Longino, Joseph B. Longino, Stephen B. Longino, Travis H. Longino, Dr. William S. Longino, Garry McClung, Dr. Dan Roper, and Joel Sheffield.
Honorary pallbearers are Mac Bonner, Brooks Bonner, Jack Crowson, and members of the D. R. Bonner Sunday School Class.
Stephen graduated from Sulphur Springs High School in 1970.
He served as president of the National Honor Society and was a three-year letterman of the Wildcat football team.
He also attained the rank of Eagle Scout.
In 1974, he graduated from Vanderbilt University, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi national fraternity.
He began his business career as a wholesale hardware salesman, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather.
As he traveled the roads of East Texas, he developed lasting friendships with his customers.
Upon completion of his hardware career, he followed his first love of teaching as a special education teacher in the Cooper ISD.
Stephen enjoyed a lifelong love of sports and had a wealth of trivia readily available for discussion with his many friends.
He served on the selection committee for the Wildcat Hall of Honor.
He loved his community and served as a city council member beginning in 1981, including time as mayor.
Following his time in city government, he served on the board of directors of Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of the Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow.
Stephen was a member and ordained deacon of First Baptist Church, where he taught a men’s Sunday school class for thirty years.
His special ministry was to children, and he was a beloved fixture in the Preschool department of First Baptist Church, where he shared his love of Jesus Christ with many.

Linda Barnes, of Sulphur Springs, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Sunny Springs Nursing Home.

Eric Bernard Mack, age 57, passed away Monday, June 1, 2015 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.

Nicholas Edward Shanahan
Nicholas Edward Shanahan, age 32, of Cooper, TX, passed into eternal life during the morning hours of September 2, 2015 at his home in Cooper.
Nicholas was born on November 6, 1982 in Hinsdale, IL, to Mr. Jim Shanahan and Mrs. Cindee Portner Flanery.
Nicholas had a wonderful childhood as he was raised by his mother and step-father, Hubert Flanery.
On March 23, 2007, Nicholas received the honor and blessing of being a father to his daughter, Lily.
Nicholas lived his life to the fullest.
His precious daughter gave him meaning to his life and he enjoyed every moment that he could: spending precious time with her and his fiancé, Lindsey Kennedy.
Nicholas will be remembered for his “prankster” character and loving attitude toward his family and friends.
To Nicholas, his friends were his family; to him there was no difference.
He loved fishing, and during the evening hours he could be found cruising the back roads with his fiancé, enjoying the countryside.
Nicholas is survived by his daughter, Lily Shanahan of Cooper, TX; his parents, Mr. Hubert Flanery and Mrs. Cindee Portner Flanery of Cooper, TX; six brothers, James Shanahan and wife Alexis of Paris, TX, Joshua Shanahan and wife Samantha of Gainesville, TX, Michael Shanahan or Aurora, IL, Christopher Flanery of Klondike, TX, Kenneth Flanery and wife Shantel of Cooper, TX, and Timothy Flanery and fiancé Amie of Point, TX; three sisters, Joy Flanery Emerson of Cooper, TX, Melody Rogers and husband Aaron of Trinidad, TX, and Bree Shanahan of Aurora, IL; his fiancé, Lindsey Kennedy of Cooper, TX; his close friend, or as he would tell people, “his fourth sister,” Ms. Tiffany Luman of Cooper, TX; and numerous family members.
There will be a visitation on Friday, September 4, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Delta Funeral Home.
Services for Nicholas Shanahan will be on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at Delta Funeral Home with James Shanahan officiating.
Pallbearers will be James Goodson, Allen Foster, Michael Story, Terry Maples, III, Bennie Goodson, Joshua Shanahan, Rusty Woodson, and Timothy Flanery.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Cole Whooten, Gregory Pfister, Kevin Ward, Chris Flanery, James Shanahan, Kenneth Flanery, and Aaron Rogers.
Burial will follow at Ben Franklin Garden of Memories Cemetery in Ben Franklin, TX.
Adam Watson Jumper
Funeral services for Adam Watson Jumper, age 39 of Austin, formally of Pickton, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, May 23, 2015 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with Michael Coker officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 22, 2015 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Adam passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2015 in Austin, due to a motorcycle accident.
He was born on October 5, 1975, the son of Davis and Kathy (Watson) Jumper in Sulphur Springs.
He was a musician and a construction worker.
Survivors include girlfriend/companion, Caroline (Cari) Breton of Austin; parents; brothers, Davis Ray Jumper and wife, Joanna of Houston and Seth Patton Jumper of Como; nephews, Mikah Uriah Jumper and Noah Hendrix Jumper of Houston.
Bernice Dawes
Bernice Dawes, Ph. D., age 72, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015, at her residence in Cumby.
She was born in Lamar County, on June 26, 1943, the daughter of John Tom and Musa Tennie (Dunham) Dawes.
Ms. Dawes was an Occupational Therapist.
She actively attended Community Bible Studies and worked for the Civil Service Department of Defense.
She is survived by two daughters, Teresa Pritchett of Cleburne, and Gina Root of Houston; brother, Shelvy Dawes; sister, Tommie Jean Dickerson; grandchildren, Alexander Dickerson, George William Pritchett, Angela Pritchett, Valerie Moore, Laurie Pritchett, Michael Root and Stephanie Root; great-grandchildren, Skyler Moore, Tara Moore and Lily Dickerson.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Janet Hall.
Loys Levil Nash
Loys Levil Nash, age 51, of Sulphur Springs, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at his residence.

Lavyn Elaine Wright Sisco
Funeral arrangements for Lavyn Sisco, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015 at League Street Church of Christ with Jerry Savage and Buddy Wiggins officiating.
Interment will follow at Pine Forest Cemetery with Justin Sisco, Robert Joslin, James Floyd, Brian Tinsley, Joe Glenn Gibbs, David Gibbs, Dale Ferrier and Brad Bradford serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held one hour prior, at 1:00 p.m., at the church building.
Lavyn Elaine Wright Sisco was born in Pine Forest, on February 12, 1937, the daughter of Jessie Calvin and Robbie Elizabeth (Bradford) Wright.
After high school graduation, she attended East Texas State University and received a degree in Elementary Education.
She was a kindergarten teacher in the Sulphur Springs Independent School District for twenty-eight years.
Lavyn was an active member of the League Street Church of Christ, and the fifth generation of her family to be a member of the church.
She was very proud of her heritage.
Her family was not pioneers to Hopkins County, because they did not arrive until 1885.
For several years, Lavyn was an active member of the Hopkins County Genealogical Society.
She also enjoyed researching the lives of historical ladies and portraying them in first person narrative.
She has published family histories in a number of publications.
She also had an appreciation for vocal music and sang with several vocal groups.
Lavyn enjoyed collecting antiques and decorating her home with them.
On special occasions, she entertained friends and family.
She is survived by one son, Brad Sisco, and grandchildren: Justin Sisco, Tori Sisco and Kaytlynn Sisco.
