Eldie Blezinger
Funeral services for Eldie Blezinger, 87, of New Ulm, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007 at St. John Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Bill Mosley officiating.
Interment will follow in the Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery in Industry.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Zaskoda Chapel in Industry.
Mr. Blezinger died Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2007 at Columbus Community Hospital.
Local survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Boyd and Linda Blezinger, and three grandchildren, Andrew Boyd Blezinger, Shelby Jayne Blezinger, Kasey Loren Blezinger, all of Sulphur Springs.
Louise Parnell
Funeral services for Louise Parnell, 83, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 2007 with the Rev. John Nesbitt officiating.
Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the funeral home.
Louise Parnell died Thursday evening, Nov. 8, 2007 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
April Lee Rouse
Funeral arrangements for April Lee Rouse, 24, are pending with West Oaks Funeral Home.
Ms. Rouse died Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007 at Mother Frances Hospital of Tyler.
Charlotte Cousin
Graveside services for Charlotte Cousin, 64, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, at Shooks Chapel with the Rev. Israel Lewis officiating.
There will be no formal visitation.
Mrs. Cousin died at 4:20 p.m. Saturday, June 28, at her residence.
She was born on Aug. 15, 1938, in Roanoke, Va., to Munci and Ellen Kirk Journell. She married James J. Cousin on Dec. 28, 1960, in Hopkins County. He preceded her in death in 1991.
Mrs. Cousin was a homemaker.
Survivors include three daughters, Deanna Cousin and Gloria Cousin, both of Sulphur Springs and Janet Sammons of North Carolina; one son, Vance Cousin of Sulphur Springs; two brothers, Jerry Journell of Salem, Va., Leonard Journell of Roanoke, Va.; one sister, Diane Martin of Fredericksburg, Va.; three grandchildren, Michael, Desiree' and Brian Blackwell.
Mrs. Cousin was preceded in death by one daughter, Cynthia Blackwell, and one sister, Frances Flannagan.
Arrangements under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Ellery Johnson
Funeral services for R. E. Ellery Johnson, 86, of the Nelta community will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2007 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Malcolm King officiating.
Military graveside services will follow at Nelta Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
R.E. Ellery Johnson died at 6 p.m. Thursday, May 31, 2007, at his residence.
Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Clyde Eugene Shrode

Henry Hooker

Mr. Hooker died at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2007 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
Linda Carr Boggs
Funeral services for Linda Carr Boggs, 46, of Sulphur Springs will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, June 8, 2007 in West Oaks Funeral Home chapel.
Interment will take place in Windom Cemetery in Fannin County.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 7, at the funeral Home.
Mrs. Boggs died Monday, June 4, 2007 in Sulphur Springs.
Linda Carr Boggs was born to Bobby Ralph Ray and Margie Mathis Smith (Fields) on Dec. 22, 1960, in Bonham. They survive.
In 2003, she married Leonard “Lennie” Boggs. He survives.
Mrs. Boggs was a retired special education teacher for Rains Independent School District. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, The Red Hat Society, United Daughters of the Confederacy and the Texas Teachers Association
Other survivors include two sons, Travis Carr of Sulphur Springs and Isaac Carr of Corpus Christi; one stepson, Adam Boggs of Fort Worth; two stepdaughters, Maegan Boggs of Euless and Abby Boggs of Sulphur Springs; one stepbrother, David Mathis of Enid, Okla.; a half-brother, Bobby Chad Ray; her stepmother, Jo Ellen Ray; and one sister, Diane Carr of Quinlan.
James William Baxter
Graveside funeral services for James William Baxter, 78, of Wylie, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2007 in City Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Henry officiating.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at Tapp Funeral Home.
Mr. Baxter died Sunday, June 3, 2007 at his residence in Wylie.
James William Baxter was born on Dec. 14, 1928, the son of James Franklin Baxter and Vera Mae Morris Baxter. They preceded him in death.
He married Wanda Strasner on Feb. 13, 1951, in Reno, Nev. She survives.
Mr. Baxter was an elementary teacher in Carlsbad, N.M., for more than 30 years. He received his bachelor’s of education degree from East Texas State University, and later received a master’s of education degree from Eastern University of New Mexico.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, receiving the Korea Service Medal with three bronze stars. In recognition of his service, Hopkins County Military Coalition will conduct military rites at the graveside.
Mr. Baxter was noted to have worked for the National Parks Department during the summer months. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ faith.
Other survivors include one daughter, Judy Baxter; one son, Major William Keith Baxter, retired; two brothers, Elton Ray Baxter and Max Baxter; five sisters, Lola Hickman, Jewel Loafman, Mary Jo Beck, Pansy Yankey and Pauline Barns; and three grandchildren, Eric Keith Baxter, Rachael Diane Baxter and Martha Lynn Baxter.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, Woodrow Baxter, and one sister, Glenna Rose Baxter.
Lynn Cooper
Funeral services for Lynn Cooper, 58, of Saltillo, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 24, 2007 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tom Friday officiating.
Burial will follow in Weaver Cemetery with I.M. Mills, Carey Shoults, Jimmy Goldsmith, Gary Ross, Dutch Vallaster and Michael Overstreet serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, at West Oaks Funeral Home.
Mrs. Cooper died Monday, May 21, 2007 at her home in Saltillo.
She was born March 8, 1949, in Lamesa, the daughter of Dewey and Evelyn Overstreet. They preceded her in death.
She married Jerry Cooper on March 18, 1955, in Sulphur Springs, where they lived until moving to Saltillo, in 1998.
Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Saltillo School Band Boosters. She served as All-Committee Chairman for Boy Scout Troop #276 and was a Cub Scout pack assistant.
Survivors include her husband; four children, Donna Ewton and husband Troy, Henry Clover, Lisa Skelton and husband Mike, and Scott Cooper and wife Jennifer; 11 grandchildren, Jose Osornio, Miranda Alkire, Cody Skelton, Ally Skelton, Matthew Clover, Jill Sinclair, Alyssa Cooper, Courtney Cooper, Corey Cooper, Abby Cooper and Bethany Ewton; and six great-grandchildren, Jaci Ewton, Jala Robinson, Tristan Cruz, Jacob Alkire, Taylor Osornio and Sara Nalls; two sisters, Peggy Sue Deweese and Betty Bruring; and two brothers, Michael Overstreet and Tommy Overstreet.
