Grady Wright
Grady Wright, 70, of Sulphur Springs, passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2008, at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
Arrangements are pending with Mason & Mason Mortuary.
Anthony Ladane Moreland
Memorial services for Anthony Ladane Moreland, 23, of Plano, formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be Sunday, July 20, 2008, at West Oaks Funeral Home.
Burial will be at a later date in the Horton Cemetery.
Mr. Moreland was serving in the U.S. Air Force.
Annie Irene Alexander
Funeral services for Annie Irene Alexander, 83, of Arlington, will be 2:00 pm Sunday, July 20, 2008, at the Beaty Funeral Home Chapel in Winnsboro.
Interment will be at Bethel Cemetery in Franklin County.
Mrs. Alexander was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winnsboro.
Verna Barnes
Funeral services for Verna Barnes, 83, of Grandview, formerly of Hopkins County, will be 11:00 am Monday, July 21, 2008, at Murray Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow at Mahoney Cemetery.
Mrs. Barnes was a retired mail clerk with the U.S. Postal Service.
She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Arlis Marie Stinnett Rush
Funeral services for Arlis Marie Stinnett Rush, 95, of Grand Prairie, formerly of Yantis, will be 11:00 am Saturday, July 19, 2008, at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow in the Sharp Cemetery.
Mrs. Rush was an employee of Foley’s, where she was a tailor for more than 30 years.
She was a member of the Yantis Baptist Church.
Norman Stephens
Funeral services for Norman ‘Buddy’ Stephens, 68, of Sulphur Springs, will be 10:00 am Thursday, July 17, 2008, at Murray Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will be at Nelta Cemetery.
Mr. Stephens was an aeronomical engineer and was retired from E-Systems.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Wilburn L. Winnett
Graveside service with military honors for Wilburn L. Winnett, age 94, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. David Hamm officiating.
There will be no formal visitation.
Mr. Winnett passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019 at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab, Sulphur Springs, TX.
Wilburn was born on December 30, 1925 in Yantis, TX, to Sam and Eva Winnett.
He married Carla Hunter in Dallas, TX in 1979.
Wilburn served in the U.S. Army during WW II.
He worked as a Stocker and loader for Proctor and Gamble.
Wilburn was a member of Freedom Church of God.
He is survived by his wife, Carla; son, Richard Winnett and wife, Melinda of Mineola; granddaughter, Kristi Chance; two great-grandchildren.
Wilburn was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Houston Winnett, Rayburn Winnett, Buford Winnett; sisters, Pearl Fox, Lorene Winnett.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Gloria Ann Cousin
Private Memorial Service for Gloria Ann Cousin, age 53, of Brashear, will be held at a later date.
Gloria passed away on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at her home in Brashear.
Gloria was born on May 14, 1965 in Sulphur Springs, to James and Charlotte Cousin.
She married Ronda May on June 22, 2002 in Sulphur Springs.
Gloria was a proud member of the Republican Party and political activist.
She had a passion for horseback riding and motorcycles.
Gloria loved nature and animals and hobbies included treasure hunting with a metal detector.
Gloria believed that all you needed in life was peace and a simple conversation.
She will be so missed and remembered so dearly by her family and friends.
We will survive her passing by remembering to keep our eyes on Jesus and knowing a peace that passes all human understanding.
In God’s care we trust our beloved completely.
She is survived by her wife, Ronda; sister, Deanna Lynn Cousin; brother, Vance Alan Cousin; stepson, Daniel Vanevery; stepdaughter, Jennifer Bowman; beloved pets, Daisy and Lily.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials can be made to the Humane Society.

Funeral service for Sophia Granger, age 71, of Yantis, will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Bro. Craig Vance officiating.
Interment will be held at New Pickton.
Visitation will take place one hour before the service.
Mrs. Granger passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, Baylor Hospital – Dallas.

Lillie Mae Ross
Funeral service for Lillie Mae Ross, age 100, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Shane Carrington officiating.
Interment will be held at Old Tarrant.
Mrs. Ross passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Rock Creek Health and Rehab.
Lillie Mae was born on September 26, 1918 in Antlers, OK, to William and Julia Reed.
She married K.E. Ross in Martin Springs in 1935.
He preceded her in death in September of 1988.
Lillie worked as a LVN with Dr. Latham.
She is survived by her sons, Larry Ross and wife, Cathy; Casey and wife, Pat; Phillip and wife, Glenda.
Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Emma Pearl Woods
Funeral service for Emma Pearl Woods, age 102, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 11:00 AM on February 2, 2019 at Miller Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Howard Strickland officiating.
Interment will follow at Miller Grove Cemetery with Kent Renshaw, Darren Renshaw, Matthew Duckworth, Mike Nabors and Dan Brown serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday, February 1, 2019 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Woods passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Sunny Springs Health and Rehab, Sulphur Springs.

Claire Knight

Mrs. Knight passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Wesley Oaks, Sulphur Springs, TX.

Private Memorial Service for Michael Parris, age 66, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at a later date.
Mr. Parris passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2019 in Sulphur Springs, TX.
William Michael was born on May 24, 1952 in Sulphur Springs, to Jesse and Norma Jean Parris.
He served in the Army.
Michael served as a Patrol Officer for Arlington and North Richland Hills Police Departments, as well as worked as a carpenter.
He is survived by his son, Chris Parris and wife, Jo of Arlington; daughter, Connie Barksdale and husband, Danny, of Hurst, TX; grandchildren, Chelsie Parris, Brad Parris, Trey Parris, Jordan Parris, Zach Rydman, Kristin Rydman, Destani Barksdale; great-grandson, Alex Munoz, Jr.; brother, Steven Ray Parris; sisters, Norma Miller and Margie Ivey.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Dean Parris.

Mr. Crump passed away on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Whispering Pines Lodge, Longview, TX.
Newell “N.A” Crump was born on August 20, 1928 in Pine Forest, to Thomas Dewitt Crump and Ethel Matthews.
He married Esther Louise Gant in Dallas, Texas, on December 18, 1953
N.A. served in the U.S. Army and was a farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Louise; son, Wayne Crump and wife, Brenda of Karnack, TX; daughter, Janet Crump; grandchildren, Jason and Tiffany Crump, Steven Lay, Thomas Lay and wife, Daphne, Angie Shipwash and husband, Craig, Amanda Ferrell; great grandchildren, Chandler Crump, Caden Crump, Cooper McAllister-Crump, Kaylee McAllister-Crump, Colton Lay, Ethan Lay, Bradley Lay, Christy Lay, Alise Shipwash, Kyla Shipwash, Layla Shipwash, Dylan Odom.
N.A. was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Cassie Ferrell; six sisters; two brothers.

Mrs. Morris passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Rock Creek Health and Rehab, Sulphur Springs, TX.
Carolyn was born on December 11, 1942 in Sulphur Springs, to Benjaman and Cora Mae Morris.
She married Donald Morris Sr. on May 13, 1974 in Durant, OK, he preceded her death in 2013.
Carolyn worked as a CNA.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Medlin and husband, Wade; grandchildren, Gabriel Pierson, Makenzie Morris, Keenan Morris; cousins, Rosemary Wakefield and husband, James, Betty Ann Senn and husband, Tommy, Francile Hall and husband, Rick; beloved cat, Lucy.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Donald Morris, Jr.; grandson, Gavin Pierson.
