JoAnn Caldwell
Funeral services for JoAnn Caldwell, 72, of Sulphur Springs, were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with David Brewer officiating.
Interment followed in Restlawn Memorial Park with Kyle Caldwell, Brandon Caldwell, Blake Caldwell, Fred Clauder, Clay Davis, A.J. Vann, Lonnie Spraberry and Carl Vann serving as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were Leiland Walker, Quinton Suttle, Henry Harrison, Jerry Brewer and Adam State.
Mrs. Caldwell died at 4:05 p.m. Saturday, June 11, 2005 at Paris Regional Medical Center.
She was born in Houston on Oct. 5, 1932, the daughter of James C. 'Buddy' and Lois Spraberry Dotson.
She married Howard Franklin Caldwell in Houston, on Feb. 7, 1950.
He preceded her in death in 1992.
Mrs. Caldwell was a retired secretary for D.P.S.
She was a member of the Baptist faith, the Ladies Golf Association and bridge club.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Janie Caldwell, and Jeff and Lana Caldwell, all of Sulphur Springs; and five grandchildren, Kyle, Lyndsay, Brandon, Blake and Kayla Caldwell.
Mrs. Caldwell was also preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Dotson.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Glen W. Moore
Graveside services for Glen W. Moore, 88, of Sulphur Springs, were held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2005 at Klondike Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.
Mr. Moore died at 1:55 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
He was born March 19, 1917, in Klondike, the son of Clarence L. and Agnes Hendrix Moore.
He married Ila Glenn Wallace Moore in Klondike in 1937. She survives.
Mr. Moore was a civil engineer, employed by the Texas Highways Department for more than 37 years.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs.
Other survivors include one son, K.M. 'Mike' Moore of San Antonio; two brothers, Clarence Weldon Moore and Louie Ray Moore, both of Arlington; and one grandson, Robert Michael Moore.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Karen Mozell Moore.
James 'Big Jim' Reddicks
Funeral services for James 'Big Jim' Reddicks, 61, of Sulphur Springs, were held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 10, 2005 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Tommy Hall officiating.
Interment followed in Black Oak Cemetery with Richard Brown, A. L. Brown, Wayne Lawson, Jimmy Don Goldsmith, Bryant Goldsmith, Trozy Darling, Mike Ray and Elton Turner serving as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers were the C.D. Ballard drivers.
Mr. Reddicks died at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at his residence.
He was born in Texas City on Nov. 23, 1943, the son of James Duncan Reddicks Jr. and Mary Lou Follis Reddicks.
Mr. Reddicks was a truck driver for Wilburn Milk Company.
He was also a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one son, James Duncan Reddicks of Como; one daughter, Monica Burchett of Tioga; three granddaughters, Lauren Burchett, Sydney Burchett and Heather Burchett, all of Taoga; four stepsons, Tony Foust of Sulphur Springs, Robert Foust of Belton, Bart Vaughn of Tennessee Colony and Donald Vaughn of Georgia.
Mr. Reddicks was preceded in death by one stepson, Barry Vaughn.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Paige Vondall Kelly
Funeral services for Paige Vondall Kelly, 29, of Sulphur Springs, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 11, 2005 at West Oaks Funeral Chapel with Reuben Trussell officiating.
Burial followed at Elm Cemetery in Rains County with Darin Miller, Jimmy Fitzgerald, Jerry Chapman, Keith Stewart, Gilbert Caribou and Jake McNally serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Kelly died Tuesday, June 7, 2005 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
She was born in San Jose, Calif., on June 27, 1975, the daughter of Ronald J. and Kay Frances Fornenberger Vondall.
She married David Christopher Kelly in Sulphur Springs on March 24, 1995. He survives.
Mrs. Kelly was a medical assistant.
She also served in the United States Army.
She is survived by her parents, Ron and Kay Vondall of Sulphur Springs; one son, Rye Collin Kelly of Sulphur Springs; one daughter, Mia Frances of Sulphur Springs; and two sisters, Amy Vondall of Dallas and Nicole Wheeler of Colorado Springs, Colo.

Docia Jewel Gambs
Graveside services for Docia Jewel Gambs, 77, were held at 2:00 PM Saturday, June 18, 2005 in the New Klondike Cemetery under the direction of Delta Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gambs passed away Tuesday in Wills Point.
She was born January 8, 1928 in Robertson County, Texas, the daughter of Dewitt D. and Ury (Hooten) Sweat.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Gambs on May 15, 1992 along with five brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Gambs is survived by a son & daughter-in-law, Robert and Paula Gambs of Grapevine; a daughter, Linda Kelly of Corpus Christi; a brother, L.C. Sweat of Arlington; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Rickey Wayne Grubbs
Graveside burial rites for Rickey Wayne Grubbs, age 53, of Sulphur Springs, were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2005 at the Pleasant Grove North Cemetery, with Sister Ann Wagner officiating.
Brothers-in-law will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Rickey Wayne Grubbs was born June 13, 1952 in Sulphur Springs, Texas, the son of Kenneth Wayne and Billie Morris Grubbs.
He married Debi Renee Cross on December 21, 1982 in Dumas, Texas. She survives.
Mr. Grubbs passed away on June 13, 2005 in Santos, Texas.
He was owner/operator for Lone Star Transportation.
He was a Vietnam veteran having served with the United States Marine Corps.
He was a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #8560.
In remembrance of his service, the Hopkins County Military Coalition will perform military honors.
Mr. Grubbs is survived by wife, Debi; one son, Aaron Wayne Grubbs of Santee, CA; and two daughters, Jennifer Lynn Grubbs and Sarah Renee Grubbs, both of Sulphur Springs; one grandson, Zachary Wayne Grubbs of Santee, CA; his parents; six sisters, Vickie Mathews and husband Bobby, Martha Oppenheim and husband Jeff, Jane Hammons and husband Lonnie, Teresa Flanery and husband Paul, Phyllis Pinson and husband Terry, and Lisa House and husband David; brother-in-law, Lary Cross and wife Laura; mother and father-in-law, Bernetta and John Kingdon; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter.
Wanda Morris Owens (Meem)
Funeral services for Wanda Morris Owens (Meem), age 73, of Dike, were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2005, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel, with Noel Bailey and Shane Carrington officiating.
Burial followed at Connor Cemetery, with Mrs. Owens' nephews serving as pallbearers.
Mrs. Owens died Thursday morning , June 16, 2005, at Home Place Hospice in Tyler, TX.
She was born September 13, 1931, in Talco, TX, the daughter of Howard and Hattie Clark Morris.
She married R. C. Owens, Jr. on October 1, 1949, in Mt. Pleasant, TX.
He preceded her in death in 1999.
They were members of Dike, Church of Christ.
Survivors include: one son, Rick Owens and daughter-in-law, Michele, of Irving, TX; one daughter, Nancy Sandifeer and son-in-law, A.G., of Dike, TX.
She has two grandsons, Marine Cpl. Richard Clinton Owens of Washington, D.C. and T.G. Sandifeer of Dike, TX; one granddaughter, Brittany Michele Owens of Irving, TX.
She has two sisters, Winnie Bragg of Garland, TX, and Eloise Dooley of DeKalb; one sister-in-law, Teen Morris, also of Garland and one brother-in-law, Jack Owens and wife, Dollie, of Houston, TX, plus many nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by one brother, B. F. Morris and a sister, Dixie McMillin.
She was called 'Meem' by her grandchildren and the many kids from the Sulphur Bluff School District that became her extended grandkids.
Thomas Edmond Wright, Jr.
Funeral services for Thomas Edmond Wright, Jr., 95, of Sulphur Springs, formerly of Fort Worth, were held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 22, at Lucas Funeral Home Chapel in Hurst.
Interment followed at Blue Bonnett Hills Cemetery in Colleyville with Mr. Wright's grandchildren serving as pallbearers.
Thomas Edmond Wright, Jr. died at 10 a.m. Monday, June 20, at his residence.
He was born in Leonard on March 1, 1910, the son of Thomas Edmond Wright, Sr. and Effie Mae Jones Wright.
He married Mamie Mae Williams in Durant, Okla., in October of 1929.
She preceded him in death in 1989.
Mr. Wright was a retired truck driver for Red Ball Motor Freight.
He was a member of Harvest Baptist Church in Watauga.
Survivors include four daughters, Martha Jane Brantley of Sulphur Springs, Frieda Jo Barrett of Haltom City, Gwendolyn Rogers of North Richland Hills and Doris Elaine Watson of Richland Hills; two sons, James Edmond Wright of Haltom City and Larry Mack Wright of Richland Hills; 24 grandchildren, including Deanna and Gary Spraggins of Sulphur Springs; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one great-great grandchild.
Mrs. Gervis Hager
(born Gervaise Eufalla Easley)
Graveside services for Mrs. Gervis Hager, age 95, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 9, 2006 at Restlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Fred Lewis officiating.
Serving as pallbearers will be her great-grandsons: Justin Hager, Cory Taylor, Layne Ashmore, Calan Ashmore, Ty Redding, Chase Redding, and Cole Hager.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 3 P.M. on Sunday, July 9, 2006, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hager died at 6:35 A.M. on Friday, July 7, 2006 at Carriage House Manor.
She was born January 30, 1911 in Brashear, to the late John and Carrie Johnson Easley.
She later married S.S. “Slim” Hager in Hopkins County on December 30, 1928; he precedes her in death.
She was a homemaker and also a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs.
Mrs. Hager is survived by her son, Bill Hager and wife Lynda of Sulphur Springs, sisters, Monteen Stephens and husband Steve of Happy, TX, and Elwanda Jo Whisenant and husband Bill of Fallon, NV, grandchildren, Melissa Simons Daniels and husband Jack, Cindy Simons Wilkerson, Julie Hager Ashmore, Tony Hager and wife Angela, great-grandchildren, Stephanie and Cory Taylor, Chase, Ty, and Mollyanna Redding, Layne and Calan Ashmore, Cole Hager, Justin Hager, and Jennifer Hager Betts, and four step-great-grandchildren, Michael and Jeff Hernandez and Jack Daniels, II, and Robin Hunicutt.
She is also survived by her great-great-grandchildren, Joely Taylor, Jasmine Alexis Hager and Charlie Elizabeth Betts.
She is preceded in death by one daughter Anna Margaret Simons; one grandson, David Lee Simons; brothers, Valcar and Kyle Easley; and sisters, Daphene Thomas and Novis Thomas.

Haskell Leroy Clayton
Graveside services for Haskell Leroy Clayton, 77, of Alvin, a native of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 10, 2006 at Oak Park Cemetery in Alvin with Pastor Jim Palmer officiating.
Don Sapaugh, Tom Hockin, Pat Sapaugh, Robert Hockin, Kenneth Hockin and Ronny Doss will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at Scott Funeral Home in Alvin.
Mr. Clayton died Friday, July 7, 2006 in Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital in Houston.
Haskell Leroy Clayton was born on Feb. 14, 1929, in Sulphur Springs to Thural and Jessie Clayton.
He married Sarah Viola Watson. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Clayton had been an Alvin resident for 40 years.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Margie Ward of Pasadena; three stepsons, Ken Hockin and Robert Hockin of Alvin, and Tom Hockin of Pasadena; one aunt, Eunice Groves of Sulphur Springs; 11 step-grandchildren; 25 step-great-grandchildren; and cousins Joe Marie and Wickie Neal, Mary Sue and Eddie Clayton, Ronny and Paula Doss, and Grace Ann Weston, all of Sulphur Springs, Tommy and Marilyn Doss of Lake Fork, and Judy Ritchie of Austin.
Mr. Clayton was also preceded in death by his mother, Jessie Plamer Brock; his father, Thural Clayton; his stepfather, William "Ike" Brock; his grandparents, Joe and Dovie Palmer; two aunts, Gladys McIntosh and Grace Doss; and one uncle, Preston Palmer, all of Sulphur Springs.
