J.W. 'Dub' Shelton
Funeral services for J.W. "Dub" Shelton, 85, of Mount Vernon, a native of Sulphur Bluff, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2006 at First Baptist Church in Mount Vernon, with the Rev. Pepper Puryear officiating.
Interment will follow in Mt. Vernon City Cemetery with David Day, Gene Ratterman, Chris Shelton, Will Dresh, Matt Rosamond and Marvin Bradford serving as pallbearers.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jack Henry Sunday School Class, Chuck Nelson, Bobby Bradford, Jerry Tinsley, Cody Bradford and Corey Bradford.
Visitation will be conducted from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 8, at Harvey Funeral Home.
Mr. Shelton died Thursday, July 6, 2006 at Mission Manor Nursing Home.
J.W. "Dub" Shelton was born on Feb. 20, 1921, in Sulphur Bluff, the son of Jesse Shelton and Tommie Stanley Shelton.
He married Jean Rigdon. She survives.
Mr. Shelton was a member of First Baptist Church of Mount Vernon.
Other survivors include four children, James Shelton of Sulphur Springs, Gloria Nelson of Katy, Sharon Dresh of Coppell and Michelle Shelton-Ratterman; six grandchildren, James Chris Shelton, Angela Bradford, Nicole Rosamond, Donna Taylor, Kent Rich and Will Dresh; six great-grandchildren; and three stepchildren, Renee Nance and David Day, both of Bossier City, La., and Danny Day of Burleson.
Bert 'B.W.' Edgington, Jr.
Funeral services for Bert "B.W." Edgington, Jr., 57, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jimmy Henry officiating.
Interment will follow in Restlawn Memorial Park with Jacky Mills, Carlos Barela, Allen Seymore, Carroll Maricle, Larry Laygon and Jerrold Gooding serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, July 10, at the funeral home.
Mr. Edgington died at 5 a.m. Saturday, July 8, 2006 at Hopkins County Memorial Hospital.
He was born on July 31, 1948, in Sulphur Springs, to Bert W. Edgington, Sr. and Ruth Hoskinson Edgington.
He married Amy Stieber in Hugo, Okla., on June 9, 1997. She survives.
Mr. Edgington was a retired truck driver.
Other survivors include his mother, Ruth Edgington of Sulphur Springs; three sons, Christopher Scott Holmes of Mississippi, Damon Edgington of Utah and Dustin Heath Edgington of Arkansas; one daughter, Lisa Marie Cannon of Frisco; two brothers, Coyce Edgington of Grapevine and Lewis Edgington of Granbury; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Becky Shockey of Connecticut, and Donna and Roger Thompson of Sulphur Springs; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father; one daughter, Tammy Holmes; and one son, Bert W. Edgington, III.
Mary "Leona" Garner
Funeral arrangements for Mary "Leona" Garner, 88, of Sulphur Springs, are pending with Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Garner died at 10:25 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2006 at Sunny Springs Nursing Home.
Patsy Clark Everts
Graveside services for Patsy Clark Everts, 66, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2006 at Shooks Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Charles Rawlinson officiating.
Ms. Everts' grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, July 10, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Ms. Everts died at 9:25 a.m. Sunday, July 9, 2006 at her residence.
She was born in Sulphur Springs on Nov. 26, 1939, the daughter of Jesse and Hazel Gillispie Clark.
Ms. Everts was a retired salesclerk for Super Handy.
She was a member of Shooks Chapel Methodist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Kathryn Wulf and Cindy Lyon, both of Sulphur Springs, Tammy McClain Steele of Rowlette and Laura Goebel of Lewisville; one sister, Linabeth Edwards of Sulphur Springs; one brother, David Hoover of Bedford; nine grandchildren, Micheal Hudson, Machell Hudson, Tamie Donald, Brandon McClain, Aubrey McClain, Clint McClain, Cory Lyon, Paige Lyon, Jonathan Goebel; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Mary Clark and Judy Wyman.
Memorials may be made to Shooks Chapel Methodist Church.
Jessie Lee Littlejohn
Funeral services for Jessie Lee Littlejohn, 85, of Dublin, formerly of Hopkins County, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2006 at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Carl Sledge officiating.
Burial will follow in Dunbar Cemetery with Randy Page, Mike McDonald, Randy Goforth and Ronnie Manning serving as pallbearers.
In honor of Mr. Littlejohn’s service to his country in World War II, the Native American Veterans Warrior Society will conduct military graveside honors.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday prior to services at the funeral home.
Mr. Littlejohn died Monday, July 10, 2006 at Harris Methodist Hospital in Stephenville.
He was born Oct. 5, 1920, in Crockett, the son of John Franklin and Harriett Elizabeth Giles Littlejohn.
He married Jamie Faye Hallum. She preceded him in death.
He then married Katy McLeod. She preceded him in death.
He then married Jamie Faye.
She preceded him in death on Aug. 7, 2002.
Mr. Littlejohn was employed in the Civilian Conservation Corps camps during The Great Depression, and later roughnecked in the oil fields. He was a machinist for L.T.V. Corp. in Greenville for more than 17 years.
He was also a mechanic in the family garage business in Dallas and did missionary work.
He was a longtime member of the First Pentecostal Church of God in Irving.
Survivors include one son, James Littlejohn; three daughters, Linda Parsons, Sandra Tahmahkera and Mary Clark; 10 grandchildren, Sharolyn Spain, David McGee, Michael McGee, Rusty Yager, Leona Yager, Jim Littlejohn, Ronnie Manning, Gregg Miller, Randy Goforth and Terrisa Downing; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Jessie Lee Littlejohn, Jr.; two daughters, Shirley McGee and Nancy Littlejohn; four brothers, Martin, Willard, Mig and William Littlejohn; and three sisters, Abby Yancy, Nanny Mays and Lizzie Norton Butler.
Charles W. ‘Chuck’ Irvin
Funeral services for Charles W. "Chuck" Irvin, 63, of Antlers, Okla., will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at Victory Assembly of God in Rattan, Okla.
Burial will follow in Fort Towson Cemetery.
There will be no formal visitation.
Mr. Irvin died at 6:40 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2006 in Antlers, Okla.
He was born to Charlie E. and Maudie Lee Hester Irvin in Hugo, Okla., on Oct. 6, 1942.
He married Brenda Cole. She survives.
Mr. Irvin was a retired owner of a boot and saddle shop.
He was affiliated with the Assembly of God church.
Other survivors include, three daughters, Christy Irvin and Michelle Irvin Womac, both of Sulphur Springs, and Holly Lee of California and one stepson, David Reed of Durant, Okla.

James ‘Jim’ Harvey Dobson
Funeral services for James “Jim” Harvey Dobson, 71, of Sulphur Springs, were held at 1 p.m. Monday, July 17, 2006 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Charles Wade and Dr. Bob McCartney officiating.
Burial followed at City Cemetery with Ryan Grimes, Adam Grimes, Dylan Dobson, Asa Dobson, Scott Pettit, Stephen Hidlebaugh, Mark Wade and John Dobson serving as pallbearers.
Mr. Dobson died at 7:20 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2006 at his residence.
He was born Nov. 19, 1934 in Altus, Okla., the son of Shelly and Rosa Stephens Dobson.
He married Doris Hidlebaugh on Aug. 20, 1954, in Frederick, Okla. She survives.
Mr. Dobson retired as a coach and teacher after many years.
He received a Bachelor of Science in education from Southeastern State University, and his Master's from East Texas State University.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs, where he served as deacon.
Mr. Dobson was also a member of the Men's Golf Association and Retired Coaches Association of Wichita Falls.
Other survivors include two daughters, Dana Dobson Hudson of Karnack, and Shelley Dobson Grimes and husband, Wendell, of Sulphur Springs; one son and daughter-in-law, David and Michelle Dobson, of Sulphur Springs; one sister, Rosemary Dobson Wade of Arlington; twin brother and sister-in-law, Johnny and Martha Dobson, of Sulphur Springs; 10 grandchildren, Ryan Grimes, Adam Grimes, Hope Grimes, Kalie Hill, Dylan Dobson, Dashea Dobson, Asa Dobson, Toby Hudson, Chad Hudson and Britten Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, William J. 'Buddy' Dobson.
Sylvia Silva
Memorial services for Sylvia Silva, 42, of Houston, are pending with West Oaks Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs.
There will be no formal visitation, but friends may sign the register book at the funeral home.
Miss Silva died at 3:15 a.m. Sunday, July 16, 2006 at the home of her sister in Sulphur Springs.
She was born on Dec. 10, 1963, in Brownsville, the daughter of Elias Silva, II and Maria Moncevaiz Silva.
She was a member of the Pentecostal faith.
Survivors include her parents; two sisters, Abygail Massy of Sulphur Springs, and Elizabeth Sullians of Winnsboro; two brothers, Elias Silva, III and Daniel Silva, both of Houston; one grandparent, Margarita Tamez Hernandez.
She was preceded in death by three grandparents, Pantaleon Moncevaiz, Miguel Herrandez and Josephine Moncevaiz.
Eugene Dyce
Funeral services for Samuel Eugene Dyce, 71, of Alvarado, formerly of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 8, 2006 at Tapp Funeral Home Chapel with Cletis Speed officiating.
Burial will follow in Arbala Cemetery with G.W. Bain, Alton Attaway, Rufus Ray, Dale Barker, Tim Barker and Ronald Barker serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, July 7, at the funeral home.
Mr. Dyce died on Thursday, July 6, 2006 at Huguley Hospital in Fort Worth.
Samuel Eugene Dyce was born June 18, 1935, in Malvern, Ark., the son of William Lee and Mary Enola Smith Dyce.
He married Ella Lee Wesson on Nov. 3, 1962, in Dallas. She survives.
Mr. Dyce was a union carpenter for more than 40 years.
He was a member of Hillside Baptist Church in Alvarado.
Other survivors include one son, Frank Dyce of Vancouver, Wash.; one brother, Walter Dyce of Mountain Home, Ark.; three sisters, Stella Sharp of Jacksonville, Ark., Lois Kelly of Benton, Ark., and Gwen Ray of West Helena, Ark.; two grandsons; one granddaughter; three step-grandsons; one step-granddaughter; and five step-great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Edgar Dyce, John Dyce, Bennett Dyce and Cecil Dyce; one sister, Katherine Pryer; two infant brothers; and one granddaughter.
Shirley Grimm
Graveside services for Shirley Grimm, 71, of Sulphur Springs, formerly of Quinlan, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 7, 2006 at Lakeside Memorial Park in Quinlan with Bro. Larry Maynard officiating.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2006 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Mrs. Grimm died Tuesday, July 4, 2006 at her residence.
She was born in Forney on Sept. 9, 1934, the daughter of Benjamin and Emma Jean Jackson.
She married Edwin Grimm on June 21, 1983, in Fort Worth.
He preceded her in death in 1999.
Mrs. Grimm was a homemaker. She was a member of Glenview Baptist Church.
Survivors include four daughters, Kay Folmar of Sherman, Brenda Gibson of Sealy, Shirley Knight of Emory, and Rhonda Kimmel of Sulphur Springs; one son, Bill Creed of Tawakoni; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; five sisters; and one brother.
She was also preceded in death by one son, Jerry Don Amos; six brothers; and one sister.
Memorials may be made to Hopkins County Hospice.
