Myrtle Ruth Crumpton Keller
Graveside services for Myrtle Ruth Crumpton Keller, 80, of Dallas, formerly of Cumby, were held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 26, 2006 in Sunny Point Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Crumpton officiating.
Mrs. Keller died at Medical City Hospital in Dallas, on Thursday, June 22, 2006 at 8:30 p.m.
She was born on February 2, 1926, in Cumby, to Offie and Vera Bennett Crumpton.
She married Bill Keller. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Keller was a secretary for a number of years at East Texas State University in Commerce.
She was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include one brother, the Rev. Ray Crumpton of Cumby.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Marie Crumpton Bibby; two brothers, J.T. and Murray A. Crumpton and two infant brothers.
Arrangements were directed by Cumby Funeral Home.

Interment was in Fairview Cemetery.

Russell Paul Cole, 51, passed away on Monday, May 29, 2006 in Corpus Christi Spohn Memorial Hospital. He was born September 6, 1954 in Chillicothe, Ohio.

Betty Harvill Perdue
Funeral services for Betty Harvill Perdue, 72, of Sulphur Springs, formerly of Lufkin, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with the Revs. Kenneth Rhoades and Walter Futch officiating.
Burial will follow at 4 p.m. in Carroll Cemetery in Huntington.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, June 26, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Perdue died at 5:10 a.m. Sunday, June 25, 2006 at Carriage House Manor Nursing Home.
She was born in Angelina County on Dec. 12, 1934, the daughter of Lemue H. and Ruth Etta Burkhalter Harvill.
She married Robert H. Perdue on Sept. 8, 1984, in Sulphur Springs. He survives.
Mrs. Perdue was an artist, and arts and craft supplier for many years.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Other survivors include one son, David Ray Cowart of Austin; two daughters, Sharon Kendrick of Grand Prairie and Linda Miracle of Ovilla; one stepson, Carroll Houston Perdue of Falcon, Colo.: three stepdaughters, Belinda Joyce Perdue, Velda Dianne Perdue and Mary Lynn Townsend, all of Sulphur Springs; one brother, Doyle Ray Harvill of Lufkin; four sisters, Bernice McGaughey of Huntington, Iva Nell Ahrens of Houston, Rennee Tawill of Pearland, and Doris Wedgeworth of Carthage; six grandchildren, Ronda Krontz of Tomball, Misty Ferris of Grand Prairie, Ashley Kendrick of Fort Worth, and Justin Townsend, Kayla Townsend and Colby Perdue, all of Sulphur Springs; and four great-grandsons, Nicholas and Ryan Krontz, and Wesley and Tyler Ferris.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Loyd Harvill; and one sister, Ruth LaVerne Smith.
Phil Anthony Boney
Funeral services for Phil Anthony Boney, 52, of Emory, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tim Potts officiating.
Burial will follow in Greenview Cemetery with Michael Gowin and Deon McGowan serving as pallbearers.
Military honors will be conducted by Hopkins County Military Coalition.
Visitation will be from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Boney died at 4:46 p.m. Friday, June 23, 2006 in Lubbock.
He was born in Sulphur Springs, on Feb. 3, 1954, the son of Arvel and Emmie Joy Potts Boney.
Mr. Boney was a construction worker.
He was a member of the Baptist faith.
He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam.
Survivors include his parents, Arvel and Emmie Boney of Emory; one brother, Timothy L. Boney of McKinney; and one sister, Angela M. Gowin of Emory.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Veronica Webster, and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
Clifford Taylor
Memorial services for Clifford Taylor, 57, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Reuben Trussell officiating.
Mr. Taylor died at 5:25 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at his residence.
He was born in Cooper on June 16, 1949, the son of Arvie Chester and Faye Taylor.
Mr. Taylor was disabled. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include six sisters, Carolyn Nix, Cathey Taylor, Martha Taylor, Anna Maye Taylor and Mary Lou Stubblefield, all of Sulphur Springs, and Ella Faye Taylor of Broken Bow, Okla.; and two brothers, Michael Taylor and George Taylor, both of Sulphur Springs.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Vickie Taylor.
Martin Harrington
Funeral services for Martin Harrington, 56, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tommy Hall officiating.
Burial at will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Bairdstown.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at the funeral home.
He died Sunday, June 25, 2006 at Methodist Hospital in Dallas.
Amy Michelle James
Funeral services for Amy Michelle James, 32, of Charleston, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2006, at Delta Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Regan officiating.
Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, June 26, at the funeral home.
Mrs. James died Friday, June 23, 2006, at her home.
She was born Feb. 28, 1974, in Waynesville, Mo., to John and Kathy Woods.
She married Ken James on June 12, 1999. He survives.
Mrs. James was a health care provider.
Other survivors include her father and stepmother, John and Kathie Woods of Grand Prairie, and Kathy and Larry Pressley of Weatherford; grandmother, Helen Anderson of Charleston; one son, T.J. Love of Brownwood; one brother, Jonathan Woods; one sister, Julie Woods; and two stepsisters, Kelly Tippitt and Kristy Harlan.
Beulah Mae Gafford
Funeral services for Beulah Mae Gafford (Mrs. N.B. Gafford), age 94, of Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Sulphur Springs, were held Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at West Oaks Funeral Home.
Mrs. Gafford died June 15, 2006 at Freedom Point Nursing Home and Rehab in Overland Park, Kansas.
Beulah was the third of five children born to Clara and William Henry Armstrong.
She was born near Miller Grove, on April 29, 1912.
She was a resident of Hopkins County, most of her life.
Beulah was married to Nathaniel Byrd Gafford on May 26, 1934 at the First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs.
Dr. Gafford practiced medicine in Sulphur Springs, from 1946 till 1989; he preceded her in death on August 28, 1998.
Beulah was also preceded in death by 3 siblings, Thelma Bell, Bertha Rowe, and Marvin Armstrong.
Beulah Gafford was for many years a faithful member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Sulphur Springs.
She was active in her Circle and a leader of her Sunday School Class there.
At the time of her death, she belonged to Rolling Hills Presbyterian Church, Overland Park, Kansas.
She is survived by her daughter, Vineta Gafford McCall (Mrs. George A.) of Overland Park, Kansas; two grandsons, Donovan G. McCall of Wichita, Kansas and Mark A. McCall (Mariana Kulak) of Fairfield, Connecticut; and great-grandchildren Jayden McCall of Wichita, Alexander William, and Caroline McCall of Fairfield.
She is also survived by a brother, Wade Henry Armstrong and wife Lee, of Atlanta, Georgia, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Bernard Lee Glasco, Sr.
Funeral services for Bernard Lee Glasco, Sr., 68, formerly of Hopkins County, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006 at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home in Grand Prairie with the Rev. Sam Calk officiating.
Burial will follow at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, in Harmony Cemetery in Winnsboro, with Bobby West, Jack West, Jerry Young, Ron Young, Bobby Presley, James McPherson, Chad Rawson and Bryan Mathes serving as pallbearers.
Lawton Williams, Larry Peacock, Jim Gore, Eugene Miller, Jerry Marsailes, Loren Johnson, Steve West and Wayne Maynard will be honorary pallbearers.
Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, at the Grand Prairie funeral home.
Mr. Glasco died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2006 in Irving, after a 7-year battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease.
He was born on Dec. 12, 1937, in Texarkana, the son of the late Rev. Noble Glasco, a Methodist minister, and his wife, Willidean Johnson Glasco.
Mr. Glasco moved to Dallas in 1954, where he studied and worked as a hydraulic technician until his retirement in 1999.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Nancy Wisenbaker Glasco of Grand Prairie, and one sister, Mary Glasco Mason of Garland.
Richard Wayne Garrard
Richard Wayne Garrard, age 45, died Sunday, August 20, 2006, doing what he loved: riding his Harley.
He resided at Lake Lavon, and was formerly of Sulphur Springs.
He worked for Central Freight as a truck driver for the past 15 years.
Richard is survived by his grandmother, Ruby Graham of Lake Lake Lavon; his parents, Kenneth and Myrna; brothers James and Stephen; and sister Reesea. He has five nieces, Jennifer Nicole, Sheryl, Whitney, Allison and Kimberly; one nephew, Lane; and a geat-niece, Aliyah.
An informal memorial will be held at the family home, located at 413 Jefferson St. in Sulphur Springs, on Thursday, August 24, from 6-8 p.m.
