Judith Ann Slatter
Judith Ann Slatter, age 74, of Brashear, passed away Friday, April 17, 2020, at Senior Suites Care and Rehab in Emory.
Memorial will be held by family at a later date, when restrictions are lifted.
Judith Ann Slatter was born on October 12, 1945, in Sturgeon Bay, WI, to the parentage of Clayton and Juanita Mann Gustafson.
Judi married Larry Slatter on February 12, 1972 in Sault Ste Marie, MI.
She worked as the secretary for Lawrence Propane for 10+ years, while raising her family.
She was a Christian, and a long-time member of Miller Grove Baptist Church.
She was a fun and loving, wonderful grandmother who loved her family very much.
She will truly be missed.
Survivors include:
Husband: Larry Slatter of Emory.
Daughter: Shannon Millard, and husband, Bruce, of Sulphur Springs.
Grandchildren: Daylan Millard and Reid Burns.
Great-grandson: Jadx Cummings.
Sisters: Annett Inman of Michigan, and JoAnn Witter of Las Vegas.
Numerous other loving family and friends.
Preceded by: Parents.
Wilson-Orwosky Funeral Home of Emory, is in charge of the arrangements.

Garvis Randle “Randy” Anglin
Garvis Randle “Randy” Anglin passed away Sunday, April 19, 2020 in Tyler, Texas, following a brief illness.
Randy was born on February 26, 1951 in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Garvis and Joann Anglin.
After graduating from Como-Pickton High School, he joined the U.S Navy for two years during the Vietnam war.
He was a life-long resident of Hopkins County, and resided in the Pine Forest Community.
Randy was instrumental in the forming of the Pickton-Pine Forest Volunteer Fire Department and served as the first chief of the newly-formed department.
He worked for Specialty Foods in Sulphur Springs, and for Keller’s in Winnsboro.
He also had a radiator repair business.
Randy was a member of the Pine Forest Methodist Church.
Randy is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Greg and wife, Courtney Anglin; brother, Jace and wife, Roselyn Anglin, all of the Pine Forest Community.
He is also survived by a grandson, Caden Anglin; granddaughters, Taylor and husband, Shane Jones of Splendora, Texas; Savannah and husband, Keegan Morris of Sulphur Springs; niece, Daci and husband, Leslee Rawson of Sulphur Springs; nephews, Cody Anglin and Dakota Anglin; niece, Tiffany Anglin, all of the Pine Forest Community.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and a daughter, Laurie Swann Ritchie.
Graveside services will be held at a later date.

Chester Duane Darby
Chester Darby, of Southlake, TX, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019, at the age of 91.
A visitation will be held from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm, Saturday, May 25, 2019, at the First United Methodist Church in Winnsboro, TX, with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm.
Rev. Debbie Lyons officiating will be officiating.
Duane was born on April 11, 1928 to Chester and Bernice Darby in Winnsboro, TX.
He grew up on a farm in Coke, TX, and upon graduation, joined the U.S. Navy for 2 years.
He met Allie Lampi while in the Navy in Michigan, and they married in November, 1947.
Duane worked for Amerada Petroleum Corporation in Coke, TX, White Oak, TX, and Tioga, ND.
Duane joined Mobile Oil Corporation in 1968 and worked in Memphis, TN, and then, Atlanta, GA.
He retired after 25 years with Mobile.
Allie passed away in 1999, after 52 years of marriage.
Duane then moved back to Winnsboro, TX, where he attended the Winnsboro First United Methodist Church.
In 2012, Duane moved to Southlake, TX, to be close to family.
Duane was a 71-year member of the Flora Masonic Lodge in Quitman, TX, and also a member of the Gus Garrison Masonic Lodge in Winnsboro, TX.
Duane was preceded in death by his wife, Allie Darby, his brother, Bill Darby, and his sister, Mary Hunt.
Duane is survived by his two daughters, Karen Newkirk and Sherry Hanlon; brother, Harry Darby; sister-in-law, Laura Lampi of Michigan; four granddaughters and three great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you make memorial donations to the Winnsboro Masonic Lodge, P.O. Box 196, Winnsboro, Texas 75494 and the First United Methodist Church, 301 Church St., Winnsboro, Texas.

Phillip Lynn Cason
Phillip Lynn Cason, age 58, of Point, passed away in the late hours of Wednesday, May 22, 2019.
He was born in Dallas, on August 2, 1960, to the parentage of Paul Dean and Betty Katherine McLemore Cason.
Phillip graduated from Rains High School, then finished one year of college.
Phillip was employed for years with L-3. He worked as groundskeeper.
Phillip had grown closer to the Lord within the last many years…His life had changed to reflect it, too.
Even with this relentless “cancer” siege, his faith and trust in the Lord had sustained him…the greatest legacy Phillip could have ever left was his love for Jesus.
Those still left on this earth to cherish his memories include:
Daughters: Paula Cason (Eric Jeffery) of Point; and, Rebecca Cason of Emory;
Parents: Paul and Betty Cason of Point;
Brothers: Geary Cason & Dennis Cason, of Point; and Jimmy Day (Kim) of Floyd;
Grandchildren: Aiden, Jace, Addisyn, Jeslyn, Ashure, Chloe, and BrookLynn;
Girlfriend: Debbie Hooten.

DOVIE GAY HUNNICUTT LOYD
Visitation for Dovie Gay (Hunnicutt) Loyd will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 26, 2019 at West Oaks Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Gray Rock Cemetery.
She passed away on May 21, 2019 at Sunny Springs Health and Rehab.
Dovie was born on June 11, 1926, to Luther Dallas and Lula Maybell (Clark) Hunnicutt in Mt. Vernon, TX.
She grew up in Mt. Vernon and graduated from Mt. Vernon High School.
She married her high school sweetheart, Lollis “Buddy” James Loyd on September 2, 1945.
They lived in Dallas, TX, Kansas City, MO, and settled in Sulphur Springs in 1968.
They were blessed with 52 years of marriage.
Lollis passed away November 26, 1997.
Dovie was a homemaker for many years, but worked in later years for Commerce Federal Savings & Loan.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sulphur Springs, where she taught Sunday School for many years and played the piano.
She enjoyed time with others, including her 3 grandchildren and her sisters and nephews.
She never met a stranger and was loved by many.
Dovie is survived by her son, Jimmie F. Loyd and wife, Donna, Tyler, TX; her daughters, Dayna Ellington and husband Larry, Liberty, MO; and Jo Lynn Loyd; grandson, Todd Loyd and wife Joleen, and great-grandson, James Turner, Raritan, NJ; grandson, Jason Marshall Ellington, and granddaughter Lacey and husband, Nick Tallmon, Overland Park, KS; also survived by special niece and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Sunny Springs Health for their care, love and friendship, and Traditions Hospice.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Gray Rock Cemetery, P.O. Box 264, Winfield, TX 75493.
Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home.

Joanne Stinson
Funeral service for Joanne Stinson, age 78, of Sulphur Springs, will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bruce Stinson and Rev. Pepper Puryear officiating.
Interment will follow at Sulphur Springs City Cemetery with Wayne Galyean, Johnny Motes, Danny Christenberry, Price Orwosky, Rodney Harred, and Randy Garrett serving as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Hulen, Wayne Benson, and Wayman Keen.
Visitation will be held one hour before the service at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stinson passed away Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Carriage House Manor.
Joanne was born on July 15, 1940 in the Webb Hill Community of Hunt County, TX to Charlie Lowell Mayes and Beulah May (Morgan) Mayes.
She married David A. Stinson on October 15, 1965 in Quinlan, TX; he preceded her in death in 2012.
Joanne was retired from Galyean Insurance as a receptionist and was a member of First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs.
She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Stribling and husband, David, Jr., of Sulphur Springs, TX; son, Bruce Stinson and wife, Gina, of Winnie, TX; grandchildren, Savannah Stinson and Tucker Stinson; and sister, Mary Keen and husband, Wayman, of Saginaw, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Jerlene Wrenn; and brother, Lowell Nelson Mayes.

Billy Jean Sparkman
Mr. Billy Jean Sparkman, age 84, passed away on Monday, May 27th, 2019 at his home in Winnsboro.
He was born on January 3rd, 1935 in Winnsboro, to the late Ira Alton Sparkman and Nettie Lou Hamm Sparkman.
He was a retired cement contractor and member of Pineview Baptist Church.
A “Jack of All Trades”, he loved, riding motorcycles, camping, mowing, gardening, raising goats or spending time with his beloved dog, Buster.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, B.J. Sparkman, Jr.; brothers, Leon Sparkman and Burt Sparkman.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Winona “Noni” Sparkman; daughters, Carlotta and husband, Ken Browning, Brenda and husband, Andy Smith; brothers, Claude Sparkman and Derward Sparkman; sisters, Nita Neystel and Gaile Lanier; grandchildren, Ross Browning, Stephen Browning, Caleb Browning, Ryan Browning, Carson Smith and Jenna Smith; one great-grandson, Waylon Smith.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 31st, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Beaty Funeral Home-Winnsboro, 816 W. Broadway, Winnsboro, TX 75494.
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 am on Saturday, June 1st, 2019 at Beaty Funeral Home, with Rev. Ronny Spence conducting.
Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery in Winnsboro, with his grandchildren serving as pallbearers.

Melba Julian Blount
A memorial service for Melba Julian Blount, age 84, of Sulphur Springs will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2019 at West Oaks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Moore officiating.
There will be no formal visitation.
Melba passed away Friday, May 24, 2019.
She was born on August 2, 1934 in Sulphur Bluff, the daughter of John Willis and Myrtle (Chester) Julian.
She married Jerry K. Blount on April 21, 1953 in Sulphur Springs.
He preceded her in death in 2014.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Blount is survived by children, Danny Blount and wife, Cheryl of Sulphur Springs; Benny Blount of Vernon, TX; and grandchildren, Kaley Blount Lyday and Brittan Blount; great-grandson, Townes Lyday; brother, Hoyle Julian and wife, Ann, Gay Hopkins, and Nadine Drake, and numerous nephews and nieces.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Leroy, Ray, Dale, and Jay W. Julian, and sisters, Maxine Heimgartner, Anita Hamrick, and Gale Foster.
She loved and enjoyed her family more than anything.
She enjoyed reading, water aerobics and her daily walk, as well as her involvement with the Sulphur Springs Country Club LGA and various bridge clubs.
The family would like to express sincere thanks to Dr. Daren Arnecke, Legacy Hospice, and Carriage House Manor.

Patricia Sparkman Plunkett
A funeral service for Patricia Sparkman Plunkett, age 85, of Justin, Texas, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, October 7, 2022, at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Butler officiating.
Interment will follow at Black Oak Cemetery with Joe Butler, Anthony Butler, Nathan Robertson, Preston Robertson, Justin Baker, Ricky Plunkett, John Plunkett and Charlie Plunkett serving as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Plunkett passed away on October 3, 2022, at her residence.
Patricia was born on May 15, 1937, in Como, Texas, to J.B. and Verda Nell (Burns) Sparkman.
She married Rev. Charles Lee Plunkett on August 26, 1956, in Como, Texas.
Patricia was a retired tax preparer for H&R Block.
Patricia and her husband were also pastors for over 50 years.
She was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God of Tyler, Texas.
She is survived by her daughters, Debbie Butler and husband, Curtis, and Sharon Robertson and husband, Farrell; grandchildren, Anthony Butler, Joe Butler, Mariah Baker, Nathan Robertson and Preston Robertson; great-grandchildren, Stewart and Nick Butler, Jake Butler, Lucy Butler, Aspen Burns and Ava Baker; and sister, Patsy Norton.
Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; daughter, Lisa Passmore; and sister, Donna Reed.
Arrangements under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.

Margaret Chastain
Margaret Chastain passed away May 27, 2019.
She was 81.
Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on April 18, 1938.
Raised in New York City, she graduated High School and worked as a secretary for RCA Records and Pan American Airlines.
She married Bruce Chastain and moved to Hollywood, CA.
Margaret produced TV commercials for McDonald's and the Budweiser Company.
She appeared in several commercials during Super Bowl.
She did location shoots as a logistics crew-member and traveled Europe and South America.
She became a private pilot, loved photography, classical music, and oriental artifacts.
She worked at Forrest Lawn, cemetery to the stars, and as an administration assistant in the Los Angeles School System.
Retired, she moved to Texas, to be near her brother, Art Romanat, the only remaining, local member of her family who resides in Sulphur Springs, with his wife, Charlotte.
Margaret was a victim of Alzheimer’s.
She was a kind and very loving person and will be missed by all that knew her.
She is survived by her brother, Art and wife, Charlotte; two sisters, Sylvia Garcia and Carmen Himenez; 5 nephews and nieces; 12 great-grandnephews and nieces.
