Marsha Kay Black Carr
NEDERLAND - Marsha Kay Black Carr, 54, of Nederland passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Broussard's in Nederland at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 8, 2007 with Dr. Jim Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of the family and friends will be from 5 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary.
Marsha was born in San Antonio. She lived in Nederland for the past twenty five years. Marsha was a loving, caring, mother, daughter, sister and friend who put others first always. She loved the beach, and the elderly. Marsha always kept her head up no matter what she faced. She was in the process of preparing to work with abused and neglected children. She was preceded in death by her father, Joe Black, and grandparents, Marion and Clarice Black.
Marsha is survived by her daughter, Amanda Carr Jacobson and Josh Jacobson of Nederland; son, Richard Neilson of Port Neches; granddaughter, Kinsley and one on the way; mother, Emily Woodell Robertson of AK; sisters, Diane Black-Freedman of Silsbee, Janet Williams and husband Dennis of Port Neches, Tera Gandy of NC., Vicci Fuller and husband Ronny of Hemphill, Larissa Black of CT, Karen Black of VA; brothers, Mark Gandy of Hemphill, Scott Gandy of OK, Michael Black and wife Stacy of CT, Joseph Black of CT, Karl Black of VA, ; nieces, Amber, Casey, Jade, Scarlet; nephews, Dustin, Gabriel, Nicolas, and Rafael; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Rodney Joseph Clayton
FORT WORTH - Services for Rodney Joseph Clayton, 37, of Fort Worth were held Tuesday June 13 at St. Peters Church in Fort Worth.
He was a native of San Francisco, Calif. and a resident of Fort Worth since 1979.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Clayton of Fort Worth; a son, Montrel Clayton of Fort Worth; two grandmothers, Isabell Clayton of Port Arthur and Yvette Marsh of San Francisco, Calif.
Alvis Cryer
GROVES - Alvis Cryer, 83, of Groves died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at Park Place Medical Center in Port Arthur.
A native of Leesville, La., she lived in Groves for 63 years. She was also a member of Groves United Pentecostal Church and a homemaker.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with the Rev. David N. Meyer officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Orange. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Andrew J. Cryer of Groves; two daughters, Margie Campbell of Mauriceville and Norma Brannan of Nederland; two brothers, Nelon Calhoun and Daniel Calhoun of Rosepine, La.; 10 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Winnie Rachal LaBorde
Services for Winnie Rachal LaBorde, 98, of Port Acres will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at St. Alphonse Catholic Church in Hessmer, La. Burial will follow in St. Alphonse Church Cemetery in Hessmer under the direction of Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home.

BRIDGE CITY - Patricia Montgomery Seale died Wednesday, June 14, 2000, at her home.
A native of Port Arthur, she lived in Bridge City since 1985. She was a pipefitter for Local 195.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.
Survivors include her mother, Viola Montgomery of Bridge City; one son, Donald Lee Griffin of Nederland; one daughter, Tammy Lee Welch of Bridge City; one brother, Grover Mann Jr. of Rockport; two sisters, Rebecca Montgomery of Bridge City and Pamela Flowers of Vidor; and three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Hartford 'Pete' Lee Bass Jr.
SPRING - Hartford "Pete" Lee Bass Jr., 54, of Spring died Sunday, June 11, 2000, at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.
A native of Leesville, La., he was a longtime resident of Port Arthur and a self-employed brick mason. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Oakridge Baptist Church in Spring. Cremation services will follow in Houston. Arrangements are under the direction of Broussard's Mortuary in Nederland.
Survivors include his wife Star; a son, Eric Lee Bass of Houston; a daughter, Michelle "Misty" Bass of Houston; his mother, Lorraine Bass of Nederland; two brothers, Michael Bass of Beaumont and Ronald Bass of Helena Ala.; and three sisters, Patricia Ellender of Westlake, La., Nan Gregg of Port Neches and Ann Butaud of Nederland/Fannett.

Services for Deborah "Debbie" F. Bent, 43, of Port Arthur will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Church on the Rock in Nederland with the Rev. Ron Hammonds officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Broussard's Mortuary in Nederland.
