Myrtle Lee Sterling
PORT NECHES - Myrtle Lee Sterling, 79, of Port Neches died Friday Nov. 12, 1999 at Mid-Jefferson Hospital in Nederland.
A native of Burke, he was a resident of Port Neches for 55 years. He was a retired cafeteria supervisor and Lamar University with 15 years of service.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pat Riley Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Pat Riley Funeral Home.
Survivors include one daughter, Edith Atkinson of Batchelor, La.; one sister, Estelle Price of Moscow; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Willie Titus
Willie Titus, 76, of Port Arthur, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999 at Park Place Medical Center.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Gabriel Funeral Home.
Irving 'HoBo' Tyler Sr.
Services for Irving "HoBo" Tyler Sr., 58, of Port Arthur will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gabriel Funeral Home with the Rev. Nelson Kennerson officiating. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Sheree Allen
Sheree Allen, 44, of Port Arthur died Sunday, Nov. 7, 1999 at Christus St. Mary Hospital.
Arrangements are pending at Hannah Funeral Home.
Mac Henry Cornell
Services for Mac Henry Cornell Sr., 71, of Port Arthur will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Paradise Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Samuel Joseph officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
James C. Greenwald
James C. Greenwald, 60, of Port Arthur died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999 at Park Place Medical Center.
A native of Grafton, W. Va., he was a resident of Port Arthur and Orange for 30 years. He was retired from the shipping industry and was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Port Arthur.
No service is planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Clayton Thompson Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, June; two daughters, Cathy Baxter of Anchorage, Ala., and Cindy Lewis of Pinetop, Ariz.; one sister, Anita Hussey of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and one grandson.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
Don Kelley
ORANGE - Don Kelley, 72, of Orange died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Christus St. Mary Hospital.
A native of Miami, Fla., he was a resident of Orange and Bridge City for 50 years. He was a retired ADN Foreman from Dupont's Sabine River Works in Orange. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 2775 in Orange.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Claybar Funeral Home in Bridge City with the Rev. Randy Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Bridge City. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife Pat; one son, Donald B. Kelley of Orange; two stepsons, Clint Hathaway of Bridge City and Clay Hathaway of Fredericksburg, Va.; two step-daughters, Cris Anderson of Bridge City and Cindy Hathaway of Vidor; two brothers, Gerald Kelley of Bridge City and Edward Kelley of Plant City, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Dr. Emery R. Owens
PRAIRIE VIEW - Dr. Emery R. Owens of Prairie View died recently.
A native of Smithville, he was a medical doctor and was retired from Prairie View A&M University where he received many honors and accolades. The Owens-Franklin Health Center was named for him in 1978. In 1996 Prairie View A&M established the Emery R. Owens Endowment. He was a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, the AME Church, and NuBoulé Fraternity. Because of his long tenure as team physician, he was inducted into the Prairie View Athletic Hall of Fame.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the William J. "Billy" Nicks building, Prairie View A&M University in Prairie View. Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m., and a wake service will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Johnson-Phillip All Faiths Chapel at the university. Arrangements are under the direction of Singleton and Sons Funeral Home in Hempstead.
Survivors include his wife Julia; two daughters, Carolyn Westbrook of Tyler and Rosalyn Mason of Los Angeles; two sisters, Charles Etta McPeters of Lawton, Okla., and Jennie Lacey of Washington, D.C.; three grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Clettie Auguston, 79, of Port Arthur died Tuesday at Park Place Medical Center.
A native of Kinder, La., she was a resident of Port Arthur for nine years and a former resident of Beaumont. She retired from Baptist Hospital in Beaumont with 31 years of service.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the church with the Rev. K.E. Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Botley Cemetery in Kinder, La. under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Baptist Church in Kinder, La.
Survivors include; two sisters, Gladys Morrow of Port Arthur and Rella Cole of Kinder, La.; two brothers, Dempsey Morrow of Port Arthur and Charles Jones of Lake Charles, La.
