Laurence Decuir
THURSDAY - Laurence Decuir, 96, of Nederland died Thursday at Golden Triangle Convalescent Center in Nederland.
A native of Loreauville, La., he was a Beaumont resident for most of his life before to Nederland eight years ago. He was retired owner of Laurence Decuir's Garage and Radiator Service in South Park in Beaumont.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Broussard's Mortuary in Nederland with the Rev. Harold Joseph Decuir officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Beaumont. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the mortuary with a Christian vigil that will begin at 7 p.m.
Survivors include his daughter, Wynelle Guidry of Nederland; his sister, Martha Donovan of New Iberia, La.; and two granddaughters.
Mary Elizabeth Gant
GROVES - Mary Elizabeth Gant, 82, of Groves died Thursday at her home.
She was a native of Bellview and a resident of Groves for 11 years. She was a homemaker.
Burial will be at UTMB at Galveston under the direction of Clayton Thompson Funeral Home.
Survivors include her two nieces, Beverly Mehl of Groves and Jo Nell Potts.
Curtis Hendley
WEST ORANGE - Curtis Hendley, 85, of West Orange died Wednesday at his home.
A native of Lake Creek, he was a resident of Orange since 1942. He was a member of McDonald Memorial Baptist Church and was a retired operator at DuPont with 30 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II during the German Occupation.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange. Visitation will be at 4 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife Elba; one daughter, Pam Wood of Angleton; one grandchild; three brothers, Charles Hendley of Edmond, Okla., Ray Hendley of Scroggins and Harold Hendley of Winnsboro; and four sisters, Alma Craig of Owasso, Okla., Emaline Hallman of Winnsboro, Oleta Glenpool of Okla. and Faye Nix of Ponca City, Okla.
Doris Marie Hughes
Doris Marie Hughes, 83, of Port Arthur died Thursday at Doctor's Hospital in Groves.
A native of Cedar Grove, La., she was a resident of Port Arthur for 60 years.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Bill Walker officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park .
Survivors include her husband William; two daughters, Barbara Coburn of Port Arces and Peggy Romero of Vidor; one son, Kenneth Hughes of Orangefield; two sisters, Annie Hughes and Vivian Shaffer, both of Center; one brother, Thomas Hale of Milam; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

GROVES - Leatrice "Peachey" McElroy, 70, of Groves died Wednesday at Christus St. Mary Hospital
A native of Port Arthur, she was a life long resident of Groves. She was a homemaker and member of St. Peter's Catholic Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Stephen McCrate officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. A rosary will be read at 5:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include four sons, Curtis McElroy, Gerald McElroy, Keith McElroy and Ricky McElroy, all of Groves; one daughter, Cheryl Sheppard of Groves; 13 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
