William McKinley 'Bill' Strother
ORANGE - Services for William McKinley "Bill" Strother, 92, of Orange will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with the Rev. Lynn Ashcroft officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
Doris G. Hollier Placette
PORT NECHES - Doris G. Hollier Placette, 78, of Port Neches died Wednesday at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
A native of Perry, La., she was a Port Neches resident for 53 years. She was an L.V.N. and worked for St. Mary Hospital and Dr. Donald Hilton. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches and a member of the St. Elizabeth Alter Society and the Bells and Beaux's Line Dancing Club. She was a volunteer for Catholic Charities and a member of the Port Neches Chapter Family and Community Association.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with the Rev. Bennie Patillo officiating under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park. A vigil service will be 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her three step-daughters; Adonia Placette and Jacque Chapman both of Beaumont and Anita Reeves of Baton Rouge, La.; two step-sons, Alfred J. Placette of Sugarland and Dennis N. Placette of Houston; a sister, Pearl Parsons of Denver; two brothers, Joseph Guidry of Groves and James Guidry of Abbeville, La.; and eight grandchildren.
Rena Sylvester
Rena Sylvester, 84, of Port died Tuesday at Beaumont Medical and Surgical Hospital.
Arrangements are pending with Gabriel Funeral Home.

Louis Anniboli Sr., 81, died Saturday, July 13, 2002, at his home.

ORANGE -- Services for Evelyn Combs, 85, of Orange will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange with the Rev. Troy Richardson officiating. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange.
She died Thursday, July 11, 2002, at her home.

BEAUMONT -- Virginia M. Dryden, 81, of Beaumont, formerly of Groves, died Saturday, July 13, 2002, at her home.

GROVES -- Millie Girouard, 77, of Groves died Friday July 12, 2002, at St. Lukes Hospital in Houston.
A native of Port Arthur she was a lifelong resident of the Groves and Port Arthur area. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Peters the Apostle Catholic Church in Groves.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peters the Apostle Catholic Church with the Rev. Kenneth R. Greg officiating under the direction of Broussard's Mortuary in Nederland. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial park in Groves. A Rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
Survivors include her husband Raleigh Girouard; five daughters, Shelia Boyd of Port Neches, Karen Melancon, Mollie Latiolais and Terry Reese all of Groves and Bonnie Borel of Nederland; one son, Ronnie Girouard of Winnie; one daughter-in-law, Sissy Girouard of Clear Lake; 22 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren
Kathryn Holland King
GROVES -- Services for Kathryn Holland King, 67, of Groves died Thursday, July 11, 2002.
A native of Jonesville, La. she was longtime resident of the Port Arthur-Groves area. She was also a homemaker and member of the Baptist Faith.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with Chaplain Karen Bowers officiating, Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her daughter Kathy Wales of Groves; one son, Ronald Scott King of Groves; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
