Mrs. Myrtle Mae Keys
Port Arthur - Mrs. Myrtle Mae Keys of Port Arthur died Friday at Park Place Hospital. A native of Opelousas, Louisiana. She was a resident of Port Arthur for about 50 years. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Funeral services are scheduled at St. Mary's Catholic Church Friday, December 5, 2003 at 11:00 am with visitation from 9:00 until 11:00 with burial to follow at Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
Survivors include her children; Henry Joseph Keys, Roland Anthony Keys (Rosalie), Phillip George Keys, Mary Margaret Keys Harris (Elton) and John Albert Keys, all of Port Arthur, one brother, John Paillet of Long Beach, California, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.
Loretta Carmon Young
Port Arthur - Mrs. Loretta Carmon Young passed away on Nov. 28, 2003 a native of Opelousas, Louisiana, and she had been a resident of Port Arthur, Texas for 60 years.
She completed Nurse's Aide training at Lamar University. Mrs. Young was an employee of the United Board of Mission and the Port Arthur News. She was a long-time member of the First Sixth Street Baptist Church and was the Adoptee of the Susie Joiner Circle.
Mrs. Loretta Carmon Young was preceded in death by her parents, Cerand Carmon and Artillia Lafleur Carmon; her husband, Ambres Young and grandson, Otis Andre' Sowell.
She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters: Lou A. Allen (Walter), Ella M. Jones (Harold), Joan Sowell and Goldia M. Cockrell (Willie) all of Port Arthur, Texas; one son, Lerand Young; one brother, Hurburt Carmon of Houston, Texas ; two sisters: Lu Edna Carmon of Beaumont, Texas and Alice Hill of Houston, Texas; seven (7) grandchildren: Angela Jackson, Walter Allen, Jr., Willie Cockrell, Jr., Anthony Cockrell Sr., Lyle H. Allen, Edward Cockrell Sr., and Norman G. Cockrell; seventeen (17) great grandchildren.: Venus Flanagan, Angel Allen, Darrell Jackson, Jr.; Otis Jr., Xavier, Quentin, Deiondre, and Javoni Sowell; Constance, Jasmine, Anthony, Edward, Tiara, Isaiah, Si'Maya, Brittanie, and Willie III Cockrell; three (3) sisters-in-law: Lena Harris (Amos) of Port Arthur, Texas, Ella Thibodeaux of Crosby, Texas and Mable Marbley of Houston, Texas and a host of other relatives and friends.
Viewing will be from 12:00 to 2:00P.M. Services following at 2:00P.M. at First Sixth Street Baptist Church on Saturday, December 6, 2003, under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home, with Rev. Wayne Morris officiating. Interment will be at Live Oak Cemetery.
Reverend Clyde M. Self
Bridge City - Reverend Clyde M. Self, 80, of Bridge City went home to be with the Lord on December 2, 2003 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church in Bridge City. Reverend Parks Walker, a family friend and retired minister will officiate. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the Southeast Texas Veterans Service Group.
A native of Palestine, Texas, Reverend Self resided in the Orange and Bridge City area since 1958. He was a retired minister having served as pastor of Winfree Baptist Church for 30 years. He was currently a member of the First Baptist Church in Bridge City.
Reverend Self is survived by his wife, Nell Self; daughter, Jeannie Juneau; daughter and son- in- law, Debbie and Steve Kosh all of Bridge City; and five grandchildren, Paris Stetkiw, Camille Juneau, Lisa McGee, Stephen Kosh Jr. and Michael Kosh.
Vivian Sue Horton Watts
Beaumont - Vivian Sue Horton Watts, 71, of Beaumont died December 1, 2003 at Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont. A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Beaumont resident since 1954, Mrs. Watts retired as a bookkeeper for Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 5, 2003 at Broussard's, 1605 N. Major Drive, Beaumont followed by burial in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm Wednesday, December 3, 2003 and Thursday, December 4, 2003 at the mortuary.
Survivors include her husband, George A. Watts of Beaumont; son, George A. Watts, Jr. and his wife Tonja of Lumberton; daughter, Leslie Faye Watts Cash of Beaumont; grandchildren, Mackenzie Watts and Kolson Watts; and sisters, Noreen Freeman and husband B.F., Jr. of Crystal Beach and Margie Tierney of Lumberton.

Doris Clarice Ivers
Doris Clarice Ivers, 81, died of natural causes on September 24, 2003 at her longtime home in the Washington, DC suburb of Annandale, Virginia.
Graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont on Saturday, October 4th at 1:30 p.m.
A 1940 graduate of Port Arthur's Thomas Jefferson High School, she attended Lamar College and wed the late John Ivers of Beaumont in 1945.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Clarice Ivers of Annandale and son John Michael Ivers of Clearwater, Florida.

Edgar H. "Ed" Burns, Sr.
West Orange - Edgar H. "Ed" Burns, Sr., 81, of West Orange, Tx died Thursday, August 14, 2003 at his home.
His funeral will be Sunday, August 17, 2003 at 2 pm at Dorman Funeral home. The Rev. Lindsey Smith, pastor of St. John United Methodist
Church in West Orange, will officiate.
Burial will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Saturday from 5-7 pm.
A native of Simpson, Louisiana, Mr. Burns was born on January 31, 1922 to William & Virginia Burns. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. In 1948 he marriage the former Eunice Champagne and moved to West Orange. He was a retired process operator for DuPont Sabine River Works with 33 years service. He joined St. John United Methodist Church in 1959, and was active in the United Methodist Men.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years Eunice Burns of West Orange; son & daughter-in-law Edgar H. "Eddie" & Tonya Burns, Jr. of Orange, Tx., daughter & son-in-law Karen & Dudley Kraus of Bridge City, Tx., sisters, Freida Gordy of Concord, Georgia and Judith Simpson of Harrison, Arkansas; grandchildren, Amy Leleux, Kerry Griggs, Shannon Burns, Misty Henry, Rachel Kraus, and Michael Kraus; and great-grandchildren, Cheri Leleux, Josh Leleux, Hannah Leleux, Sage Griggs and Skylar Griggs.
He is preceded in death by his brother Laverne Burns.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dudley Kraus, Michael Kraus, Mike Leleux, Josh Leleux, Shannon Burns, and Matt Doiron.

Mr. Richard S. Clements
Houston - Mr. Richard S. Clements, 54, of Houston passed away Thursday, August 14, 2003 at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center.
Memorial services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 16, 2003 at Chapelwood Methodist Church in Houston.
Mr. Clements is survived by his wife; Sabrina Dalby Clements of Houston, daughter; Storey Dalby Clements of Houston, brother; Jimmy Clements of Oklahoma, sister; Betty Strickland of Alabama, mother-in-law and father-in-law; Kathleen and Johnny Dalby of Port Neches, and sister-in-law; Melana Dalby of Houston.
