Jack N. Morgan

PORT ARTHUR - Jack N. Morgan, 88, of Port Arthur, Texas died Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at his residence. Jack was born on January 31, 1919 in Boston Pool near Hominy, Oklahoma to Arnold A. Morgan and Emma Hust Morgan. He was a resident of Port Arthur for 61 years and retired from Texaco after 35 years of service as general foreman of maintenance. He was a longtime member of Aldersgate Trinity United Methodist Church. He served in the Army Air Corps with the 94th Fighter Squadron during World War II, and received twelve Battle Stars, three Presidential Citations and European Theater Ribbon. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Aldersgate Trinity United Methodist Church with Reverend Joy Richards officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Groves. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2007 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Melba L. Morgan, and grandson, Clint Wasser. Survivors include his daughters, Dana Wasser and husband, John, of Port Neches, Jacque McCall and husband, John of Port Neches; son, Marc Morgan and wife Karen of Groves; grandchildren, Emmy Schorzman and husband Bryan, Laura Powell and husband, Brandon, and Ross McCall; great-grandchildren, Luke Powell and Evan Schorzman. A special thanks to his caregiver, Sallie Brown. Friends wishing may send memorial contributions to: Methodist Children's Home or Aldersgate Trinity United Methodist Church Foundation.

Mildred Mary LeJunie

PORT ARTHUR - Mildred Mary LeJunie, 71, of Port Arthur, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur. Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Broussard's Mortuary Chapel in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends to be from 5 to 8:00 PM Friday evening February 2, 2007 at the mortuary. She was a native of Rayne, Louisiana and lived all of her life in Port Arthur. She was a custodian for the Nederland School District who loved her family and enjoyed cooking. Mildred is survived by her sons, Gordon LeJunie and wife, Gwen of LaBelle, Aubrey LeJunie and wife, Joann of Groves, John LeJunie of Baytown, Dave LeJunie III and wife, Becky of Nome, and Andrew LeJunie of Beaumont. She is also survived by her daughter, Katherine Dupre of Beaumont, Kathleen Romano and husband, Anthony of Nederland, Becky England and husband, Paul of Jasper, and Cindy Hollier of Dayton. Mildred is also survived by her sisters, Irene LaGrange of Maurice, LA and Hazel Harrington of Nederland. She has 22 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Services under the direction of Broussard's in Nederland.

Myrtle B. Thomas

PORT ARTHUR - Myrtle B. Thomas departed this life on January 29, 2007 after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's. Mrs. Thomas is a native of Port Arthur, Texas and leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Evelyn G. McCarter and one son, Lee A. Thomas and many loving family members and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church located at 548 East 15th Street @ Austin Avenue. Visitation is scheduled from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Eastern Star Missionary Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.

William Riley Clanan, Jr.
BUNA - William Riley Clanan, Jr., 79, of Buna, Texas died Wednesday, January 31, at St. Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 3, at E.E. Stringer Funeral Home in Buna. Burial with Military Honors with follow at Antioch Cemetery in Buna. A native of Port Arthur, he had lived in Buna since 1960 and was retired with the U.S. Air Force in 1989. He had 39 years service in the U.S. Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force. He was a veteran of World War II, Korea, and Vietnam wars. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Shawn Clanan; a brother, J.C. Clanan; and a sister, Minnie Jester. Survivors include his wife, Mary Clanan of Buna; a son, Gary Clanan of Woodville; daughters, Linda and Dan Bochsler of Palestine; Darla and Rene' Lopez of Buna, and Peggy and Bill Sumrall also of Buna; sisters, Mary Frances Hoffpauir of Lake Charles, Laura Burnham of Livingston, and Elizabeth Eaves of Agora Hills, CA; 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Sue C. Hernandez

NEDERLAND - Sue C. Hernandez, 89, of Nederland died peacefully on Wednesday, January 31, 2007. She was born in San Antonio on March 20, 1917 and was a lifelong resident of the Port Arthur and Nederland areas. She was a member of the Saint Charles Catholic Church in Nederland. Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Hernandez, Sr. and her grandson, Mark Hernandez. She is survived by her sons, Robert A. Hernandez and wife, Pat of Beaumont, and Richard E. Hernandez and wife, Angel of Nederland. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Susan Sauer and husband, Jim of Houston, Lisa Hernandez of Nederland, Lora Jackson and husband, Robert of Mauriceville, Julie Hernandez of Houston, Andrea Harrington and husband, Kris of Nederland, and Seth Walton of Beaumont; great-grandchildren, Ryan Melancon, Anthony Harrington, Connor Sauer, and Cameron Sauer; siblings, Oscar del Castillo, Richard del Castillo, Arthur del Castillo, Carmen Avila, and Helen Davila; and numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and a rosary will be held from 7:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2, 2007 at the Levingston Funeral Home, 5601 39th Street in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at Saint Charles Catholic Church, 130 Hardy Avenue in Nederland, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Saint Charles Catholic Church, Saint Charles General Fund, 130 Hardy Avenue, Nederland, Texas 77627.

Tiffany Rose (McGuire) Calamaco

Tiffany Rose Calamaco (22) died Tuesday, July 25, 2007 at Christus St. Mary in Port Arthur.
Born in Kansas City, MO she moved to Port Arthur in 1997. She is a graduate of Memorial High School.
She is survived by her husband, Manuel Calamaco and children, Jasmine (2), and Jessie (1) of Port Arthur. Her mother and stepfather, Renee and John Tuttle of Port Arthur; brothers, John and Anthony McGuire of Port Arthur; brother, Stephen McGuire; and sister, Anna McGuire of K.C. MO; grandmother, Elizabeth Caya of Duluth, MN.
She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph McGuire; grandparents, Martha and James McGuire of K.C., MO; grandfather, Dick Caya of California.
A memorial service will be at Bethel Temple Christian Church at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2007.

Van Buron "Buck" Moore

PORT NECHES - Van Buron "Buck" Moore, 76, of Port Neches, Texas died Thursday, July 26, 2007 at his residence.
Van was born May 4, 1931 in Elizabeth, Louisiana to Edward Daniel Moore and Vergie West Moore. He was a resident of Port Neches for 38 years and was a retired salesman. He was a US Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.
Funeral service will be held Sunday, July 29, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with Rev. Carl Durden officiating. Entombment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2007 at the funeral home.
He is survived by his daughters, Edith Moore and Emma Moore both of Port Neches, Texas; sons, Wayne Moore of Port Neches, Texas; and Archie Moore of Nederland, Texas; sisters, Dorothy Ernest of Covington, Louisiana and Burnett Mircale of Pitkin, Louisiana; brothers, Burl Moore of Carterville, Illinois, Barney Moore of Pitkin, Louisiana, Raymond Moore of Glenmora, Louisiana; grandchildren, Clint Moore, Travis Moore, Daphne Braquet, and Ashley Moore; great-grandchildren, Chase, Chandler, Bree, and Kera Braquet.
The family wishes to thank Harbor Hospice especially Fran and Cathy, Dr. Forsythe and staff and all the many friends and family for their support and prayers.

PFC Brandon Keith Bobb "Bubba"

PFC Brandon Keith Bobb was born on January 15, 1987 in Port Arthur, Texas. Brandon was a loving son, grandson, brother, nephew, and cousin. He was a respectable young man and looked up to by many. Brandon attended Memorial High School in Port Arthur before moving to Florida where he graduated from Riverview High School in 2005. After graduating, Brandon enrolled in culinary school in Orlando, Florida.
In July 2006, Brandon enlisted in the United States Army becoming PFC Bobb. He was proud to serve his country. On February 1, 2007, Brandon graduated as a military police officer with the 787th MPBn, 3rd Platoon Co. B in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. PFC Bobb was also a military police officer with the 401st Military Police Co., 92nd MPBn 89th Military Police, Fort Hood, Texas. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 28th, 2007 at 9:00 am until time of service. Services will be at 11 a.m. at Thomas Blvd. Church of Christ. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Cemetery.
Brandon is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Joseph Bobb, Sr. and Pauline George, Ignatius Broussard, Sr. and Selena Frelot, grandfather, Joseph Bobb, Jr.; uncle, Craig Bobb and cousin, Jose-ana Bobb.
Brandon leaves to cherish his loving memory: Parents, Johnny and Paula Bobb - Miles; brother, Johnny Jr.; sister, Racquel; half brothers and sisters, Lance, Logan, Aaron, Amber and Raquel; grandparents, Josephine Broussard- Bobb of Port Arthur, TX and Gabriel and Katrina Miles of Nicaragua; Uncles, James Bobb of San Jose, CA, Daryl Bobb (Mary) of Garland, TX, Joseph Bobb III, Michael Bobb Sr. (Connie), Terry Bobb (LeQuishcia), Kevin Miles and Josue Miles all of Port Arthur, TX, Gabriel Miles of Nicaragua, and Gregory Bobb (Rachael) of Beaumont, TX; aunts, Linda Bobb-Turner (Andy Jr.) of Irving, TX, Janice Bobb, Jeackelin Miller, Xiomara Miles all of Port Arthur, TX, Maria Axiliadora, Kathleen and Maurin of Nicaragua; cousins, Shavon, Craig, Christina, Courtney, Ashley, Michael Jr., Curtis, Joseph, Hannah, Andre', Andy III, Chacory, Justin, Keithen, Aubreanna, Amaya, Amrie, Ashlyn, Aivery, Ariel, Aaron, Jhalen, Alexis, Anthony, and Lindsey. Brandon leaves a host of great uncles, great aunts, additional cousins and friends to honor his bravery.
Brandon will be remembered as our hero and he will be greatly missed.

Irene Esther Rising

Irene Esther Rising died peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 24, 2007. She was born on December 23, 1917, to Martha and Ernest Wukasch and was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur. She was a wife and homemaker and was preceded in death by her beloved husband Calvin Rising, Sr., her only sister Toni Duhon, and brothers, Walter, Gus, Herbert, Edwin and Clifford Wukasch.
She was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she was active in the Ladies' Aid. She was a member of the Port Arthur Founders' Lioness Club and had served as secretary of that organization.
She is survived by her daughter Marlyn Jeanne Wagner and husband Donald of Fulsher, Texas, sons Calvin Andrew Rising, Jr., and wife Lou Ida, Stanley Wayne Rising and wife Susan and Dr. Alan Ray Rising, all of Port Arthur and her grandchildren, David Wagner, Jennifer McEvoy, Paul Wagner and wife Melissa, of Houston, Elaine Gilbert and husband Greg of Sugarland, Cheryl Morris and husband Kyle of Lufkin, Dr. Bodre Rising, Dr. Kelly Rising and wife Kala of Beaumont, Risa Coates and husband Rick of West Grove, Pennsylvania, LaRae Bost and husband Bryan of Groves, Robin Steele and husband Pete, Holly Rising, Lauren Rising, Alan Rising, Jr., Craig Rising, Calvin Rising III, all of Port Arthur and 19 great-grandchildren.
Irene was kind and generous and was happiest when she was unselfishly doing for others, especially the grandchildren. Fondest memories are of her wonderful family dinners where she delighted in preparing favorite dishes and getting everybody together. Left to mourn her are a host of friends and relatives, especially her dear sisters-in-law Marie Majors, Peggy Henderson and husband Tommy, Ruth Romero, Jean Wukasch and Gladys Wukasch.
A gathering of family and friends will be at Grammier - Oberle Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 25, 2007 from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00p.m. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 2:00 P.M., with Reverend Timothy Dinger of Trinity Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons David Wagner, Kelly Rising, Paul Wagner, Bodre Rising, Alan Rising, Jr., Craig Rising, Calvin Rising III, and special nephew Herb Wukasch.
Those wishing to make memorial contributions may do so to the Scholarship Fund at Trinity Lutheran Church, Port Arthur, Texas.
