Bro. Earl Bray, Sr.
PORT ARTHUR - Bro. Earl Bray, Sr., 78 of Port Arthur, died on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at his residence. He was a native of Patterson, Louisiana and a resident of Port Arthur for 50 years. He was a member of East Mt. Olive Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Male Chorus, former member of The Community Gospel Singers, Silver Wings Singers, and The Christian Spiritual Singers. He was also a member of The Golden Triangle Voices of Brotherhood and he retired from the City of Port Arthur.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Earl and Elizabeth Bray; wife, Sallie Bray; two sisters, Fannie Thomas and Earnestine Bell.
He leaves to cherish his memories: one sister, Caldonia Alfred of Port Arthur; two sons, Harvey Hodges of Port Arthur, Earl Bray Jr. of Beaumont; two grandsons, Kyndal and Earl Bray III of Beaumont and a great host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Viewing is scheduled for Thursday March 1, 2007 at 9am at East Mount Olive Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow at 11am.
Mary Lenora Wilson
Mary Lenora Wilson, 88 years of age, was born in Patoa Oklahoma July 3, 1919, and died on March 21, 2008 at Christus St. Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur. Lenora and her late husband Raymond P. Wilson were residents of Port Arthur for over 70 years. Lenora operated and owned Wilson's Beauty Shop for 58 years. Lenora was actively involved in the First Baptist Church of Port Arthur. Lenora was a beautiful, energetic, kind and compassionate woman who put others before herself. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with Rev. Don Falke officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2008, at the funeral home.
Her children are the late Jacqueline Hughes-Russell of Port Arthur; her children surviving her are Robert R. Wilson and wife Stevie of Bridge City, and Denise Sperry and husband Mark of Miami, Florida. Her grandchildren are Dr. Jason Wilson, Charles Burch, Jeremy Wilson, Jennifer Wilson, Christopher Sperry and Joshua Sperry. Lenora also she has six great-grand children. Lenora was also survived by her brother, Cleo Taylor, Jr. and sister, Barbara Taylor both of Oregon. Ruby Higginbotham
PORT ARTHUR - Ruby Higginbotham, 81 of Port Arthur, died Friday, March 21, 2008 at Renaissance Hospital in Groves. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 at St. Therese, the Little Flower of Jesus Catholic Church under the direction of Broussard's in Nederland. Entombment will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Serenity Mausoleum in Port Neches. A gathering of the family and friends will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday at the mortuary with a Christian Vigil recited at 6:00 pm. Ruby was a native of Church Point, Louisiana, and has lived in Port Arthur the past 63 years. She was a long time member of the St. Paul Alter Society and full time homemaker and mom.
Mrs. Higginbotham was preceded in death by her husband; Alphonse Higginbotham, 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Survivors include daughters, Dolores A. Johnson and husband James E. of Fannett, Texas, Christine Jones and husband Wayne C. Sr. of Port Arthur, Texas, and Ramona Higginbotham of Port Arthur, Texas; sons, Carroll Wayne Higginbotham and wife Cathy of Elko, Nevada, Timothy Higginbotham of Vidor, Texas, Todd Anthony Higginbotham and wife Alicia of Dallas, Texas; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Leander Touchet and wife Lelia of Nederland; sisters-in-law, Lilly Touchet of Port Arthur and Nita Touchet of Sulphur, Louisiana.
Aurora R. Davalos
April 14, 1913 - March 20, 2008
Aurora R. Davalos, age 94, entered into rest March 20, 2008 in Port Arthur, Texas. She was born on April 14, 1913 in Brackettville, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband Jesus Davalos Sr, parents Gregorio Rodriguez and wife Ninfa. Brothers Rodolfo Rodriguez and Federico Rodriguez. Sisters Maria Sandoval, Hortencia Castro, Guadalupe Uresti and Maggie San Miguel.
Left to cherish her memory is her son Jesus Davalos Jr. and wife Linda of Port Neches, Texas, daughters Emma Esqueda of Port Arthur, Texas, Berta Sandoval and husband Joe of Brackettville, Texas, Oralia Cortez and husband Adolfo, Teresa Frerich and husband Freddy. Sister Nancy Rodriguez. Seventeen grandchildren and numerous other relatives.
Gentlemen left with the honor of Pallbearers: Charles Davalos, Jesus Davalos IV, Stewart Davalos, Antonio Esqueda, Gustavo Sandoval, Ruben Terrazas Jr., Faustino and Julio Sandoval.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 25, 2008, from 3:00PM to 9:00PM, Brackettville Sunset Chapel, 302 E. Spring, Brackettville, Texas. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at St Mary Magdalene Catholic Church at 10:00AM.

Chad Mitchell Thompson
Chad Mitchell Thompson was born on July 11, 1970 to Mark and Claudia Thompson. He left us on March 21, 2008 doing what everyone knew him for, helping someone else in need. Chad lived his life in the Mid-County area all but 7 years that were spent traveling for his job. He marriage Dawn Michelle Lindsey on May 7, 1993. Three beautiful loving children followed shortly after. Chad was involved in little league football coaching as soon as Taylor could play at the age of 5 yrs old, with the Slidell Cowboys (his favorite team), then over to the Denham Spring Patriots, then finally finished up with the first Port Neches League with Tanner finishing up. This became a love of the family, and a family sport. Chad and Michelle coached, the boys played and Hannah Cheered. He was and still is an outstanding Father, always involved in the boys playing football never missing a game, and Hannah cheerleading never missed a competition, the loudest one at all events. A loyal friend to all that knew him to the end, call and he would be there no matter what. Chad earned his Eagle Scout thru the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, an honor not many fulfilled, and something he was very proud of. A loving, Caring, and devoted husband to Michelle for 15 awesome years, a devoted daddy, son, brother, uncle and friend.
A visitation will be held from 9 A.M. to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday March 26, 2008 at Clayton Thompson with burial following at Greenlawn Cemetery. Chad was proceeded in death by his mother, Claudia Dawn (Davis) Thompson, his grandmothers, Minnie Thompson, Maxine Davis, his Papaw, Harvey Mitchell Thompson, grandfather, Ray E. Davis and nephew, John Roger Lindsey. Chad is survived by his wife of 15 years, Dawn Michelle (Lindsey) Thompson, sons, Taylor Mitchell Thompson, Tanner Michael Thompson, daughter, Hannah Dawn Thompson, father, Mark Mitchell Thompson, sister, Shelley (Thompson) Hayes and husband Peter, brother-in-law, John Lindsey, sister-in-laws, Amber Webb and husband Joe, Shauna Lindsey, as well as step brother-in-laws and sister-in-law, nephews, Robert Levi Hayes, Ryan Mark Hayes, Kristopher Webb, Joshua Webb, Nicholas Webb, nieces, Bryanna Madeline Hayes, Bethany Webb and Elizabeth Lindsey, special aunts, Mary Jo Jurisich, Pat Turville, as well as numerous cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. Serving as pallbearers are Darrin Davis, Aaron Davis, Kevin Davis, Brett Reeves, Mark Ellison and Jim Cummings. Honorary pallbearers will be his sons, Taylor Mitchell Thompson and Tanner Michael Thompson. George Austin Dyson
PORT NECHES - George Austin Dyson, 91, of Port Neches, Texas, passed away on Easter Sunday, March 23, 2008 at Gulf Health Care Center, Port Arthur, Texas after a brief illness. He was born in Lake Arthur, Louisiana, on October 30, 1916 to parents, Louis Adolph Dyson and Edia Marie Michon Dyson. He had lived in the Golden Triangle area when he marriage Avien Marie Touchet Dyson. They were marriage 63 years before her death.
George worked a combined 37 years at J&L; Barrel Plant and Cortland Container Corporation as a relief machine operator. He was a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and a friend to many and will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He most enjoyed taking care of his family and spending time with and helping his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. George enjoyed playing solitaire and watching the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Astros on television and the Golf Channel. He also enjoyed doing odd jobs and painting houses. He enjoyed sharing his stories with others. George never met a stranger. He was a member of Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches.
A visitation will be on Wednesday evening March 26, 2008 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur. A Christian Mass will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches with the Reverend Bennie Patillo officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 63 years, Avien Marie Touchet Dyson, two sons, Terry Paul Baudoin, Sr. and George Michael Dyson, sisters, Frances Adaway, Ruby Fontenot, Effie Poydence and Lottie Pope, and brothers, Carl Dyson and Sam Dyson. He is survived by a daughter-in-law Nancy Baudoin of Austin, a son Ray Dyson and wife Laura of Houston, two daughters Brenda Harrington and husband Marcus of Port Neches, and Charlotte Vannett and husband Rick of Nederland. He is survived by five grandchildren, Terry Baudoin, Jr. and wife Cindy of Austin, Vivian Schultz Dewey and husband Pete of Houston, Jeff Vannett and wife Kristi of Kingwood, Jennifer Haveman and husband Robbie of Plano, and Jason Harrington and wife Annie of Beaumont along with three great- grandchildren, Dustin Schultz of Houston, Taylor Vannett of Kingwood, and Hayden Haveman of Plano. He is also survived by a sister, Addie Mar Buxton of Silsbee, as well as a host of nieces and nephews and many other family and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeff Vannett, Jason Harrington, Jerry Bellot, Blaine Judice, Jessie Myers and Josh Myers. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Baudoin, Jr., Dustin Schultz and Robbie Haveman. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the staff of Hospice of Texas and Gulf Health Care Center, for the loving care, support and understanding they gave to our father and our family during the latter part of his life.

Crystina Leigh Segeada
Crystina Leigh Segeada, 15, formerly of the Mid-County area passed away March 19, 2008. She was born April 12, 1992 in Port Arthur, Texas to Martin Wayne Segeada and Crystal Ramirez.
She is survived by her father, David Ramirez; grandmother, Judy Monic; 2 grandfathers, Johnny Sidle and Joe Parfait; brother, Christian Ramirez; 2 sisters, Kimberlee and Ashlee Segeada; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Crystal Ramirez.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 26th from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Nederland. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 27th at Heritage Funeral Home in Nederland, Rev. Randy Hammer officiating.
