Jima Lou Benton
ORANGE - Jima Lou Benton, 73, of Orange died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at her home.
A native of Covington, Okla., she lived in Orange since 1968. She was a homemaker. In her earlier years she was active in Women's Golf Association, and played in the Tennis League. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Orange with the Rev. Kevin Badeaux and Msgr. Francis Burlton officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Orange. Visitation will be from 5 to 10 p.m. Tuesday at Claybar Funeral Home and from 8 a.m. until time of service Wednesday. A rosary will be read at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Jill Guidry of Orange, is the only survivor.
Myrtle A. Butler
HENDERSON - Services for Myrtle A. Butler, 82, will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Caledonia Methodist Church in Rusk County with the Rev. Clay Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Caledonia Cemetery under the direction of Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Visitation from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the church.
She died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at College Street Nursing Home in Beaumont.
Roy Franklin Clough
NEDERLAND - Roy Franklin Clough, 89, of Nederland died Sunday, April, 8, 2001, at Golden Triangle Convalescent Center.
A native of Blooming Grove, he was a resident of Nederland since 1947. He was a retired maintenance supervisor with Texaco with 42 years of service.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Pat Riley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memorial Park in Port Neches. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include one daughter, Pamela Hickman of Nederland; three sisters, Catherine Sims and Minnie Tart, both of Katy and Mamilou Loper of Groves; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Jeff Daniels
GROVES - Jeff Daniels, 46, of Groves died Friday, April 6, 2001, at Hermann Hospital in Houston.
A native of Port Arthur, he was a lifelong area resident. He was a homebuilder and a member of the Carpenter's Local.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home with the Rev. Walter Montondon officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. A rosary will be read at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife Laurie; two daughters, Stephanie Daniels and Marcie Daniels, both of Groves; her father, W. L. "Jack" Daniels of Groves; two brothers, Billy Daniels of Port Arthur and Chad Daniels of Groves; and two sisters, Sherry Whitfield of Houston and Lori Dattalo of LaPorte.
John Melvin Foy
John Melvin Foy III, 54, of Port Neches died Sunday, April 8, 2001, at his home.
A native of Soso, Miss., he was a resident of Port Neches for most of his life. He was a retired salesman for many companies in our area. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Port Neches.
Memorial services will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Central Baptist Church in Port Neches with the Rev. Dale Vance officiating, under the direction of Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the church.
Survivors include one daughter, Laurie Martin of Port Neches; one son, Taft Foy of Nederland; and two grandchildren.
Lee Green
Services for Lee Green, 25, of Port Arthur will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Jimmy Hunter officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery under the direction of Hannah Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
He died Thursday, April 5, 2001, at August Health Care Center in Lubbock.
Arthur W. Hargis
GROVES - Services for Arthur W. Hargis, 76, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves with the Rev. Mike Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Bridge City.
He died Saturday, April 7, 2001, at Golden Triangle Nursing Home.
