Mrs. Edna Frank Guillory
PORT ARTHUR - Mrs. Edna Frank Guillory was born on October 20, 1918 in Duralde, LA. She was the third of fourteen children born to the union of Joseph Frank Jr. and Laura Victorian. Mrs. Guillory departed this life at 5:40 p.m. December 11, 2007 at Promise Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Guillory was a resident of Port Arthur, Texas for over 55 years. She was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a good and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where she served as a member of the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary. Her dedication to her family and community was unfaltering.
Preceded in death by both parents; husband, Jimmy Guillory; one son, Edmond Guillory; step-son, Herman Guillory; sisters, Gladys Ardoin and Girlie Frank; brothers, Aldes, Hampton, and Carlton Frank.
She leaves to cherish her memories, daughters, Shirley Guillory Burlew of Houston, and Laura (Ian) Guillory Martin of Atlanta, GA; daughter-in-law, Marie Guillory of Lafayette, LA; sons, Jimmy Guillory of Beaumont and Frank Guillory of Port Arthur. Also left to mourn are thirteen grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Agnes (John) Ceasar of Vinton, LA, Beatrice (Allen) DeVille of Jennings, LA, Everta Benoit of Orange, TX, Hazel (Leo) Thomas of Elton, LA and Lovenia Fontenot of Basile, LA; brothers, Paul and Raoul Frank of Soileau, LA and Nalis Frank of Cheeks, TX; one sister-in- law, Elsie Frank of Mamou, LA; and a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Sacred Heart - St. Mary's Catholic Church followed by Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
Marshall Jean Nicholson
Port Arthur - Marshall Jean was born on November 20, 1944, to the late Richard and Juanita Nicholson in Port Arthur, Tx. Her early childhood education included the Osborne Day Nursery. She attended Lamar Elementary School and Abraham Lincoln School, where she graduated in the class of 1963. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Prairie View A & M University in 1968 and her Master's degree in 1973. After teaching elementary education for 35 years at Benjamin Franklin Elementary School, she retired from the Port Arthur Independent School District.
Marshall was a lifetime member of Epsilon Delta Chapter of Zeta Phi Sorority, Top Ladies of Distinction, W. M. DeWalt Business and Professional Women of Port Arthur, and TSTA/NEA. She was a lifetime member of Mt. Sinai Baptist Church.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday December 16, 2007 at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. Funeral service to begin at 7 p.m. Reverend Randy G. Vaughn officiating. Burial will be Monday at 10 a.m. in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
Virginia Ruth Heslop
NEDERLAND - Virginia Ruth Heslop, 72, of Nederland, Texas passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007 surrounded by her loving family. She was born October 14, 1935 in Wilson, Texas to the late Lewis F., Sr. and Idela M. Jones Crews. She was a homemaker, and member of Fellowship Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, John E. Heslop, Sr. of Nederland; 3 sons, Danny Allen Heslop of Seabrook, Texas, Roger L. Heslop, and John E. Heslop, Jr. of Marquette, MI; daughter, Ann L. Seth and husband, Greg of Arlington, Washington; 17 grandchildren; 12 great- grandchildren; and close friends, "Bud" John and Ruby Casto of Nederland and Paul and Kathy Goodwin of Nederland.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Lewis Crews, Jr.; and sister, Ada Lavanda Barsch.
Visitation will be Friday, December 14th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Nederland.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 15th at 10:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home with an Eastern Star service conducted by Nederland Chapter 1079. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
SSgt. Clifford Stewart
SSgt. Clifford Michael Stewart stationed at Lackland Air Force Base in the 37th Security Forces Wing, passed away December 10, 2007 of natural causes. Clifford was deployed to Curacao, Netherlands Antilles. Previously he served and completed tours of duty in Iraq and Kuwait. Clifford was a graduate of Ballinger High School in Ballinger, Texas and attended Angelo State University. He is most remembered for his kindness, compassion, and sense of humor. He was a gentle man whose love of family and country was his greatest priority and joy. Clifford followed the footsteps of his late father Maj. Michael Clay Stewart, and his grandfather, the late Lt. Col Luie Dale Stewart, who retired as a career serviceman. A memorial service was held in Curacao and at Lackland Air Force Base.
A gathering of friends and family will be Sunday, December 16, 2007 from 5-8 PM at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2 PM Monday, December 17, 2007 at Clayton Thompson Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
He is also preceded in death by his grandfather, William "Red" Welty of Port Arthur and two sisters, April and Wendy Stewart. Clifford is survived by his wife, Erin Stewart; daughter, Bethany; and two stepchildren, Dakota Wooten and Kallie McNabb of Castroville, Texas; his mother, Deborah Welty Stewart and fiancé', Randy Rodgers and his daughter, Mandy of Port Neches; brother, Karl Stewart and wife, Sarah of Wichita Falls, Texas; two grandmothers, Zelma Welty of Port Arthur, and Charlie Stewart of Denver, Colorado; parent-in-laws, Edwin and Valerie Rusgrove of Hondo, Texas, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and one nephew.

Cal C. Stone
Cal C. Stone, 92, of Jensen Beach, Florida died Sunday, December 9, 2007.
Cal was born March l, l9l5 in Blevins, Texas, to Abner Stone and Dony Taylor Stone. He was a longtime area resident and retired from Texaco Research lab in l977 to life on Toledo Bend lake where he enjoyed fishing and working in his yard. He maintained an active church life with his church family in Jasper, Texas. Family, home and church were the focus of his life. In 2003, he and his wife moved to Jensen Beach, Florida, to be close to their daughter. He lived there until 5 months prior to his death.
Survivors include his wife, Flavia Stone; daughter, Darlene Carver of Indiantown, Florida; sons, Larry W. Stone of Silsbee, Texas and Jeffery D. Stone of Sarasota, Florida; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday evening December l7, 2007 from 6:00p.m - 8:00p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas. Funeral services will be at ll:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December l8, 2007 at Levingston Funeral Home. Reverend Robert Turnage of the Victory Temple will officiate, assisted by Reverend B. H. Clendennen of the Victory Temple and Reverend Richard Bishop of Jasper Church on the Rock. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Larry W. Stone, Jr., Adam Stone, Daniel Lynd, Cordell Breaux, Gary Turnage, and Scott Briggs.
Henry Louis III (Big Lou)
PORT ARTHUR - Henry (Big Lou) Louis III, of Port Arthur, died Tuesday at his home. He was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and was employed at Texaco / Chevron where he retired after 33 years of service. He also was Owner of Louis Welding and Fabrication and Markeith's Barber and Beauty for 23 years.
A visitation is scheduled Monday from 9 AM to 11 AM with funeral services immediately following at Saint James Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
Survivors include four sons, Henry Louis IV, Tremayne D. Louis (both of Austin, TX), Tronell D. Louis of Hutto, TX and Markeith A. Louis of Port Arthur; one sister, Roberta L. O'Brian of Port Arthur; two brothers, Timothy J. Louis of Port Arthur and Christopher J. Louis of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren; devoted companion, Carolyn Brady; mother of his sons, Beverly A. Louis; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Henry was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Helen E. Louis; father, Henry Louis Jr.; and brother, Isaac J. Louis.
Mr. Richard Edward Hebert Sr.
NEDERLAND - Mr. Richard Edward Hebert, Sr., 71, of Nederland, died Saturday, December 15, 2007 at Christus St. Mary Hospital in Port Arthur.
A native of Groves, Texas he has lived in Nederland since 1965. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves, a US Air Force veteran and retired from Texas US Chemical as a operator with 37 years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Hebert of Nederland; daughter, Rene' Hebert of Port Arthur; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Jr. and Sherri Hebert of Nederland and Roger and Joy Hebert of Magnolia, Texas; Brother, Forrest P. Hebert, Jr. and his wife, Sandy of Denver, Co. three grandchildren, Elizabeth and Eleanor Hebert of Magnolia and Russell Hebert of Nederland.
Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches with Reverend Jim McClintock officiating. A visitation was held on Monday from 6:00 - 8:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
