Henry Bowie, Jr.
Henry Bowie, Jr., 46 years old, was born June 10, 1962 to the union of Henry Bowie, Sr. and Evelyne Vital in Ft. Sill, Oklahoma.
He was a 1980 graduate of Ouachita Parish High School, Monroe, LA. He retired as a truck driver with Dart. He served in the United States Army for over 5 years.
He departed this life on Monday, December 17, 2007 at his home at approximately 6am.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Carrie J. Bowie; mother, Evelyne Vital; father, Henry Bowie, Sr.; sons, Henry Bowie, Louis Johnson, James Johnson, and Jessie Johnson; one daughter, Keisha Price Bush (Jonathan); five grandchildren; two sisters, Sabrina Carter (Herman), Roselyne Bowie; a host of nieces and nephews and one great-niece; and special cousin, Timothy Benton and friend, Terrance Iles.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 22, 2007 from 12 noon to 2pm. Funeral Services will be from 2pm- 3pm at the Central Church of the Nazarene, 3737 8th Street, Port Arthur, TX.
Regina Lee Hebert Austin
NEDERLAND - Regina Lee Hebert Austin, 82 of Nederland passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2007 at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital in Houston.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Broussard's in Nederland at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 22, 2007. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens in Nederland. A gathering of the family and friends will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 on Friday at the mortuary.
Mrs. Austin was preceded in death by her husbands, Tanner Hebert and Grover Austin. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Nederland.
Regina is survived by her daughters, Yvonne Bourgeois, Suzann Turner, and Elizabeth Gilbert; son, Clifton Hebert; stepdaughter, Linda Cole; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Enos Louviere (The Crackling Man)
Port Arthur - Enos Louviere, 82, died Sunday, December 16, 2007 at South East Texas Medical Center after a long illness.
A native of St. Martinville, Louisiana he grew up in St. Martinville and after a tour in the US Army, he moved to Port Arthur, Texas in 1946 where he was a resident for 61 years. He retired from Jefferson Chemical in 1989. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for over 50 years.
Enos was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Ceanna Louviere and two brothers Hilary and Albert Louviere.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years Alma; one son George Morris (Kimberly) of Port Arthur, Tx.; three brothers, Norris Louviere (Thomasine) of Port Arthur, Tx., Daniel Louviere of St. Martinsville, La. and Felton Louviere of San Antonio, Tx.; six sisters, Edna Simon, Lorena Ledet, Anita Matthews and Alberta Malveaux (Calvin) all of St. Martinsville, La., Florence Johnson of Port Arthur, Tx. and Lera Mae Alexander of Memphis, Tenn.; two sister-in-laws Millie Milton (Dave) of Port Arthur, Tx. and Rose Cole of Beaumont, Tx.; one grandson Darius Brocks Morris of Port Arthur, Tx. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the Sacred Heart-St. Mary's Catholic Church from 8:00 to 10:00 A.M. Funeral service will follow at 10:00 A.M. with Father Charles Atuah MSP officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Margie Nell Brown Campbell
Port Arthur - Margie Nell "Bay-Bay" Brown Campbell was born September 24, 1945 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Brown in Port Arthur, Tx. She attended public schools in Port Arthur and shortly afterwards attended Job Corps where she received her LVN. She was employed by Park Place Hospital for many years until her health failed.
She was preceded in death by her mother Thelma Copeland Brown, father Arthur Brown, two brothers Louis Brown and Clarence Brown and nephew Clarence Bryant Brown.
Her memories are left to be cherished by three sons, Lawrence "Boo Boo" Wallace of Port Arthur, Tx., Joseph "Tiny" (Talia) Wesley of Marino Valley, Ca., and Ronald "Pooh" (Janice) Campbell of Beaumont, Tx.; one daughter Tarshula "Tarsh" Campbell- Williams (Gary Jr) of Dallas, Tx.; two sisters Thellie "Baby Jean" (Willie) Rose and Carolyn "Sue" (Joseph) Sylvester all of Port Arthur, Tx.; one brother Arthur "Bubbie" (Mary) Brown of Port Arthur, Tx.; 21 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; 3 loving and devoted nieces Anita "Tookie" Ivy of Dallas, Tx., Joanna "Jody" Sylvester of Houston, Tx., and Quintella "Quin" Broussard of Port Arthur, Tx.; one loving and devoted friend of many, many years Theresa "Ann" Brown of Port Arthur, Tx. and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday December 21, 2007 6:00 to 9:00 at Hannah Funeral Home in Port Arthur. Funeral service will be held at Christian Faith Baptist Church 11:00 AM Saturday December 22, 2007. Burial following at Johnson Memorial Park in Port Arthur.
Reverend Archie L. McFarland
Funeral services for Reverend Archie L. McFarland, 74, of Hemphill will be 2:00 P. M. Friday, December 21, 2007 at Trinity Baptist Church in Jasper with burial to follow at North Baptist Cemetery. Rev. McFarland died Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at his residence on Lake Toledo Bend. A native of Port Arthur, and longtime Southeast Texas resident, he had lived in Lake Toledo Bend since 2000. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Pt. Acres in 1952. A long time Carpenter, he retired from the Carpenter's Local #610 in Pt. Arthur. A Baptist minister he ministered throughout Southeast Texas. He enjoyed fishing and woodworking. In addition to his Lord and Savior, he loved his family.
Survivors include his wife of over 53 years Dorothy McFarland of Hemphill, TX, son, Lee McFarland of Jacksonville Beach, FL, daughter Glenda Green of Beaumont, TX, brother Perryman McFarland of Pt Acres, TX, sister, Daisy Rushing of Burkeville, TX, four grandchildren, Shelly LeBlanc, Kris McFarland, Candice McFarland and Christy Green Howard, five great-grandchildren, Sadie, James, Darian, Carly, & Maya.

Charles Frank Milich, USN CPO Ret.
Charles passed away at home with his family at his side on December 18, 2007 after a brief battle with lung cancer.
He was born on September 6, 1944 to Frank and Josephine Milich at St. Mary's Hospital in Port Arthur. He attended Bishop Byrne and Thomas Jefferson High Schools before joining the United States Navy on May 28, 1963. Charles eventually retired from the Navy as a Chief Petty Officer with twenty years of service. Early in his career he received an appointment a nomination to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, but he turned this appointment down to marry his beloved wife, Lynette Kaye Rhynard, of Riverside, California on August 14, 1965.
During his military service his duty stations included San Diego, California (Coronado Naval Air Station); Honolulu, Hawaii (Pearl Harbor); Bremerhaven, Germany; on the USS Ticonderoga; USS Ranger and finally the USS Point Loma based out of San Diego, California.
Charles' is survived by his wife Lynette, and his mother Josie, his three adult children, (JC) Johnny Charles Milich of San Diego, CA, Michael Wayne Milich and wife, Keri of Katy, TX., and Victoria Josephine and husband Matthew Elliott of Port Neches, TX. Four wonderful grandchildren also survive him: Carl Frank Simon, Charles Joseph Simon, Alexandra Marylyn Crawford, Sophie Hlavinka Milich. His brother, Emil and wife, Barbara are both from Port Arthur and have five children.
Charles greatest passion in life was always fishing. In his retirement years, he often loaded his gear into his white truck and headed for the banks of Sabine Lake or the Sabine ship channel to cast his lines and wait for that big red fish or speck to bite.
While he spent much of his Navy career at sea, Charles was a loving and devoted spouse and father. He spent endless hours imparting his wisdom and passion to his children. He was loved in life and will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, Texas with Reverend Stephen McCrate officiating.
Following the service, friends and family are invited to join the family at their home for a celebration of Charles' life.
Jean Ann Parker
PORT ARTHUR - Jean Ann Parker of Port Arthur passed away on December 21, 2007 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on March 18, 1944 to O. B. Parker and Eula Mae Parker.
She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and spent most of her adult life in Houston. She retired from Shell Oil Corp. in 2005 and moved to Port Arthur.
She was preceded in death by her father O. B. Parker.
She is survived by her mother Eula Mae Parker, brother James K. Parker of Thorton Co. along with his two children Lindsey Parker, Leah Thompson and Grandson Daniel Goans, brother Ruelle Parker of Groves his wife Lana, children Tamara Greer of Austin, Charisse Short of Nederland and her children Phoebe and Trey.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 23, 2007 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home in Groves. Funeral service will be on Monday, December 24, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Entombment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
