Bettye Williamson

PORT NECHES - Bettye Williamson, 83 of Port Neches, died Tuesday, February 05, 2008 at Methodist Hospital in Houston.
Funeral service scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, February 8, 2008, at Broussard's in Nederland with the Reverend Bennie Patillo and Reverend Randy Carrion officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday evening from 5:00 - 8:00 pm at the mortuary.
Mrs. Williamson was a native of Nederland and life-long resident of Nederland and Port Neches. She taught for 36 years in PNG ISD and retired from Van Buren Elementary School in 1999. She was a member of the First Methodist Church in Port Neches. Most of all she was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Joe E. Williamson, Jr. She is survived by her son, Larry Williamson and his wife Diane of Katy TX; and her three daughters, Cathy Dunn and her husband R.J. of Alexandria, LA; Peggy Roberts and her husband Bubba of Nederland, TX; and Lindy Burnett and her husband Matt of Port Neches, TX; She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; Erin Krueger and her husband Jimmy, Chris Dunn and his wife Jennifer; Tracy Lyons and her husband Jimmy, and their son Cody; Eddie and his daughter, Reese, Kurt, Kyle, and Timmy Roberts; Cori Burnett Davis and her daughter, Madison; Clint Burnett and Cami Burnett; Her sister, Dorothy Foster, and brother, Leroy Farley and his wife, Mary also survive her.
She was loved by all who knew her and lived life to the fullest. She will be missed dearly. In lieu-of-flowers donations may be made to the American Heart Association or the Leukemia Society in Mrs. Williamson name.

Harris J. Broussard
Dec. 30, 1920 - Feb. 02, 2008

Kaplan - Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 05, 2008 at a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Church honoring the life of Harris J. Broussard, 87, who died February 02, 2008 at Southwest Medical Center.
He will be laid to rest in Pecan Island Community Cemetery, serving as Pallbearers will be, Kevin McCord, Britt Ousterhout, Neal Heath, Tyler Lege, Jim Gauteau, Mike Broussard and Johnny Broussard. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be, The Tropical Gardens Gun Club, The Rollover Gang, Jake Lege and Barry White. Reverend Randall Moreau will officiate at the services.
Harris J. Broussard of Pecan Island, Louisiana, formerly of Groves, Texas returned to Pecan Island in 1980 after his retirement from Texaco, Inc. Mr. Broussard was a veteran of World War II, as a member of the Swamp Angels in the United States Coast Guard. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. In Lieu of flowers, charitable contributions can be made to the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Foundation or the March of
Dimes.
He is survived by one son, Randy Broussard and his companion Linda Hulin of Pecan Island; three daughters, Myrna Heath of Groves, Texas; Cathy Frioux and her husband Ron of
Groves, Texas; Tracy Lege and her husband Blaine of Pecan Island; one sister, Florence Broussard of Pecan Island; twelve grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his wife Rita V. Broussard, his parents Sosthene Broussard and the former Melicia Miller and one grandson, Matthew Harris Broussard.
The family request that visiting hours be observed at Vincent Funeral Home, 300 Eleazer Avenue, Kaplan, Monday, February 04, from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., with a rosary being prayed at 7:30 p.m.; Visitation will continue Tuesday, February 05, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church hall in Pecan Island from 8:00 a.m. until services.
All funeral arrangements are being conducted by Vincent Funeral Home of Kaplan (337) 643-7276.

Antoine Pellerin "Tony"

Antoine "Tony" Pellerin, 88, of Port Neches passed away on Friday, February 1, 2008, at his residence in Port Neches.
Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches with Rev. Bennie Patillo as the Celebrant and Mr. Pellerin's granddaughters, Leah Harrington, Kayla Hebert and Rachael Pellerin will be placing the pall. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves with Mr. Pellerin's grandsons, Gary Mullen, Chris Pellerin, Ryan Ancelet, Matt Ancelet, Shawn Hebert, Shane Pellerin, Brendon Hollier, Jordan Ancelet, Cory Hollier, Jared Pellerin, Tyler Ancelet and Carl Pellerin will be serving as pallbearers. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2008, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with a Christian Vigil Service to be recited at 5:00 p.m. Monday and a Rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Antoine was born on October 4, 1919, in Port Arthur, Texas to Agnes and Antoine Pellerin. He was a World War II Army Veteran in the 36th Division with the 142nd Regiment. Antoine was a retired lab technician with B.F. Goodrich in Port Neches and was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches and former member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Antoine loved his family and grandchildren and will be missed dearly by all who loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Pellerin of Port Neches; sons, John Pellerin and wife Charlotte of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Robert Pellerin and wife Theresa of Richmond; daughters, Renee Ancelet and husband Donnie of Port Neches, Theresa Hebert and husband Wade of Groves, Cathy Pellerin of Sugarland and Judy Ancelet and husband Si of Port Neches; brothers, Charles Pellerin and James Pellerin and wife Etta all of Port Neches; sister, Vera Mullen of Glendora, California; fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Antoine was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Helen Callanan.
The family would like to extend thanks to Dr. Kahtan Kaissi for all he did for our father and Chris McCollum with "Better Living" Medical and Odyssey Hospice for all they did for our family and dad.

William Gerald Simpson

William Gerald Simpson, 89, of Vidor, Texas died Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Promise Specialty Hospital in Nederland, Texas.
William was born December 5, 1918 in Lamourie, Louisiana to William Guy Simpson and Rosetta Elizabeth Head Simpson. He was raised in the Port Neches area and had also lived in Abilene, Texas for 15 years before moving back to this area 2 years ago. He was the Postmaster for Port Arthur, Texas with 35 years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas and was a US Army WWII Veteran.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Port Neches. Burial with Military Rites to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon to service time on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Iris Vera Sherman Simpson and two brothers, Harold Simpson and Leon Simpson.
He is survived by his daughter, Wanda Sharon Dunigan and fiancé, Denver Freeman of Vidor, Texas; son, Gerald Keith Simpson of Willis, Texas; sister, Helen Die of Port Neches, Texas; Brother, Lester Wayne Simpson of Broadus, Texas; 4 grandchildren, Sherman White, Elizabeth Parsons, David LaBove, and Bonnie Rodriguez; 3 great-grandchildren, Austin Parsons, Aaron Parsons, and Tristan Rodriguez.

Robbye Ruth Holt Hohes

PLANO - Robbye Ruth Holt Hohes, of Plano, TX left this life for Heaven on February 1, 2008 to see her Saviour and to join her husband, Sylvester, her parents Corra and Amalie Purtell Holt, her siblings, Sue Hilliard, Victor and Herman Holt, and grandsons, Scott and Greg Randall. A native of Arkansas, Mrs. Hohes settled in Groves, TX after marrying Sylvester Hohes in 1933. A member of Groves First Baptist Church for 70 plus years, she constantly shared skills for teaching, singing, cooking, sewing, knitting, caring, and laughter with her family, friends, and church. She and her husband traveled extensively in the U.S. and Canada. In 2004 she moved to central Texas to be closer to her family.
Mrs. Hohes is cherished and missed by her children: Ron and Kay Hohes, Gail and C.S. Randall, and Sue and Darrell Commander; her grandchildren: Brad and Becky Randall, Laura and Kevin Carr, Deborah and Kelly Kettner, Ginger and Sean Mann, and Darrell Commander; Her great-grandchildren: Brandon and Benjamin Randall, Sarah and Rebekah Carr, Jacob, Riley, and Kyle Kettner, and Alex Mann; Her niece, Emily Harrison; and a host of family and of friends.
A Memorial Service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 4, 2008 at Memory Gardens in Nederland, TX. Burial will be at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2008.

Mrs. Laudie Chambers

GROVES - Mrs. Laudie Chambers, 99 of Groves, died Saturday, February 2, 2008 at her home. She was born on August 13, 1908 in Wanita, Texas to John W. Jones and Callie Hendrick Jones. Laudie worked in the Lyric Theater in Groves before she was produce manager at Speirs, Inc. for 20 years. She later worked at the Groves Senior Citizen Nutrition Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Groves, the Sonshine Choir, Rebecca Lodge of Port Arthur and the Pythian Sisters of Port Arthur. She also volunteered as a worker at the election polls.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at First Baptist Church in Groves with Reverend Charles Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday evening from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
Laudie was preceded in death by her husband; Oland Reginald Chambers; daughter, Patsie Sue Chambers; son, Don Chambers; and son-in-law, A.J. Funderburk. She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Funderburk of Groves, TX, Barbara Chambers Echart and husband, James of Hempstead, TX; two sons, Dale Chambers and wife, Evelyn of Trinity, TX, and Royce Chambers of Groves, TX; nine grandchildren, Debbie Chambers, Darla Funderburk Speicher and husband, Vernon, A.J. Funderburk, Jr. and wife, Linda, Richard Funderburk, Cathy Schion and husband, Danny, Linda LaSalle and husband, Darrell, Jimmie Lanine Canipe and husband, Richard, Reverend Gary Brinkley and wife, Brenda, and James Lofton, nineteen great-grandchildren and eighteen great-great-grandchildren.

Peter Morris Graffagnino

PORT ARTHUR - Peter Morris Graffagnino, 64, of Port Arthur, Texas passed on Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Gulf Health Care Center in Port Arthur, Texas. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas on April 9, 1943 to Josephine Todora Graffagnino and Anthony Graffagnino. Pete graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1964. He served in the U.S. Merchant Marine.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 6, 2008 from 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be on Thursday, February 7, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Josephine and Anthony, his sisters, Camilla Withers, Annie Belle Merrill, Frances Lampley and Mary Wells, his brothers, Steve Graffagnino, Tony Graffagnino, Joe Graffagnino and Frank Graffagnino.
He is survived by his sisters, Lily Depew of Port Arthur, Texas, Josie Dearing of Clear Lake, Texas and Rosie Lupo of Nederland as well as numerous nieces and nephews along with numerous great-nieces and nephews.
