Anders Martin Jensen (A.M.)
Anders Martin (A.M.) Jensen, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Friday, February 1, 2008 at home after a long illness. Mr. Jensen was born on June 3, 1932 to Anders and Grace Jensen. For forty years, Mr. Jensen operated his own business, Jensen's Auto Salvage and Towing in Port Arthur, Texas. He was a respected resident of Port Neches, Texas for forty-four years, relocating to Nederland, Texas only in the last two years of his illness. He loved his family, camping, traveling to the Rocky Mountains, and deer hunting. He will always be remembered for his wonderful, boisterous laugh.
Mr. Jensen is survived by his loving wife, Hazel Judice Jensen of Nederland, Texas; his mother, Grace Jensen of Groves, Texas; three sons, Randy Jensen of Arlington, Texas; Waysie Jensen of Nederland, Texas; Dennis Jensen of San Antonio, Texas; and one daughter, Sandy Stutes of Port Arthur, Texas. Mr. Jensen's passing is also mourned by two daughters-in-law, Wavelyn Jensen of Arlington, Texas; and Sandy Jensen of San Antonio, Texas; one son-in-law, Rodney Stutes of Port Arthur, Texas; as well as nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Jensen was preceded in death by his father, Anders and brother, Donald Lee Jensen.
A memorial service will held at 2:00 p.m. on February 3, 2008 at Clayton- Thompson Funeral Home in Groves, Texas. All family and friends are invited to attend the services and to gather afterwards at 3411 Avenue E, Nederland, Texas.
Antoine Pellerin "Tony"
Antoine "Tony" Pellerin, 88, of Port Neches passed away on Friday, February 1, 2008, at his residence in Port Neches.
Services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches with Rev. Bennie Patillo as the Celebrant. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of friends and family will take place from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 4, 2008, at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with a Christian Vigil Service to be recited at 5:00 p.m. Monday and a Rosary to follow at 6:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Antoine was born on October 4, 1919, in Port Arthur, Texas to Agnes and Antoine Pellerin. He was a World War II Army Veteran in the 36th Division with the 142nd Regiment. Antoine was a retired lab technician with B.F. Goodrich in Port Neches and was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Port Neches and former member of St. Catherine Catholic Church in Port Arthur. Antoine loved his family and grandchildren and will be missed dearly by all who loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Rita Pellerin of Port Neches; sons, John Pellerin and wife Charlotte of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Robert Pellerin and wife Theresa of Richmond; daughters, Renee Ancelet and husband Donnie of Port Neches, Theresa Hebert and husband Wade of Groves, Cathy Pellerin of Sugarland and Judy Ancelet and husband Si of Port Neches; brothers, Charles Pellerin and James Pellerin and wife Etta all of Port Neches; sister, Vera Mullen of Glendora, California; fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Antoine was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Helen Callanan. The family would like to extend thanks to Dr. Kahtan Kaissi for all he did for our father and Chris McCollum with "Better Living" Medical and Odyssey Hospice for all they did for our family and dad.
Concepcion M. Ortiz
Concepcion M. Ortiz of Seguin, Texas passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Care Inn of Seguin in Seguin, Texas at the age of 89. She was born in Tuxpan, Jalisco, Mexico on April 2, 1918 to Maria Jesus Zendejas and Gregorio Martinez. She has been a resident of the area for most of her life, before moving to Seguin two years ago. Connie was the owner and operator of Connie's Beauty Shop in Port Arthur for over 10 years. She was an active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, a member of the Damas de Guadalupanas, active member in Senior Citizens Center and served as a Volunteer for St. Mary Hospital Auxiliary (Pink Ladies) for several years.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 4, 2008 from 5 P.M. to 8 P.M. with a rosary to be recited at 7 P.M. at Clayton Thompson. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Rev. T. R. Blanco serving as celebrant.
Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park under the direction of Clayton Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maria de Jesus Zendejas and Gregorio Martinez, her husband, Juan C. Ortiz, her sisters, Braudelia Martinez and Ana Maria Molina, her brother, Jose Martinez.
She is survived by her brother-in-law, Jose Molina Sr. of Port Arthur, Texas, her nieces and nephews, Martha Weber, Linda Molina, Nora Henson, Jose Molina, Jr., and Doris Ellsworth along with other nieces and nephews in Mexico.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Antonio Flores and the entire Staff of the Care Inn of Seguin for their special care and attention given over the last years.
Bennie Nola Hilgemeier
PORT NECHES - Bennie Nola Hilgemeier, 95 of Port Neches, Texas passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Cypress Glen East in Port Arthur. Mrs. Hilgemeier was born July 25, 1912 to Clarence and Rosa Barrow in Anahuac, Texas. She has lived in Port Neches since 1999 and was a former resident of Beaumont for 57 years. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Beaumont.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry K. Hilgemeier, son, Henry C. Hilgemeier; six sisters and four brothers.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosie Einkauf and husband Kenneth of Port Neches, brother, G.G. "Duck" Hilgemeier and wife Scarlet of Fannett; daughter-in-law, Jane Hilgemeier of Beaumont; niece, Hannelore Wieting-Zymolka of Ganderkessee, Germany; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and a host of other numerous
nieces, nephews and friends.
A gathering of family and friends was held on Friday, February 1, 2008 from 4 p.m., until 8 p.m., at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 10 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church located at 2955 S. Major Dr., Beaumont, TX 77707.

Ralph L. Lewis, Jr.
Ralph L. Lewis, Jr., 82, passed away January 30, 2008 in The Woodlands, TX. He was born April 17, 1925 in Port Arthur, TX, but raised in Pittsburgh, PA.
At only 17, Ralph proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII as a Bombardier 2nd Lieutenant. Known to his men as "Double L, " his medals include: 4 Battle Stars, 2 Oak Leaf Clusters and The Distinguished Flying Cross. Following the war he earned his bachelors degree in engineering from Penn State. He worked for Gulf Oil for 35 years, ending his career as Vice President of Public Affairs. He spoke nationally and internationally on global strategies for the energy crisis. During retirement he enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader.Ralph was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Robbie Buckner Lewis. He is survived by his daughter, Leeann; sons, Todd and wife Donna, and Scott and wife MaryAnne; three grandchildren, Ryan, Amanda and Courtney; and great-granddaughter, Lydian. He will be greatly missed by all, but especially by his dog Lili.
Funeral services will be held 10 A.M. Monday, February 4th at Forest Park The Woodlands Funeral Home. A private burial for family with military honors will follow at Houston National Cemetery.
Trisha Michelle Walton Phelps
GROVES - Trisha Michelle Walton Phelps, 27, of Groves, Texas passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2008 in Beaumont, Texas. She was born in Beaumont, Texas on February 22, 1980 to Kathryn Davidson Walton and Ernest Walton. She has been a resident of the area since 1990. Trisha graduated from Port Neches Groves High School in 1998 and earned her Degree in Surgical Technology from Lamar State College in Port Arthur. She was employed at Beaumont Bone and Joint Clinic as a Surgical tech for the last fourteen months.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 2, 2008 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. with a rosary to be recited at 5 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 3, 2008 in the Thompson Memorial Chapel at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Trouille, Lucas Robicheaux, Kyle Sweat, Gerry Walton, Michael Burns, Michael Beenen, Nathan Ferrell and Rudy Minton. She is survived by her daughters, Cortlyn Beenen of Groves, Texas, Ava Phelps of Groves, Texas, her mother, Kathryn and husband Andy Robicheaux of Groves, Texas, her father, Ernest and wife Joyce Walton of Lumberton, Texas. She is also survived by her fiancee', Greg McGowne and his son Logan of Beaumont, Texas along with her sister, Sheri Chesser of Evadale, Texas, brothers, Mark Trouille of Vidor, Texas and Gerry Walton of Fred, Texas. She is also survived by her step-sisters, Julie Copeland of Lumberton, Texas and Rebecca Richardson of Beaumont, Texas, her step brothers, Daniel Moreau of Hawkins, Texas, John Richardson of Plano, Texas and David Richardson of Dallas, Texas along with numerous nieces and nephews as well as several aunts and uncles.
Tommy Joseph Lefort (Tom)
Tommy Joseph (Tom) Lefort, age 56 of Thibodeaux, LA native of Cut Off, LA died January 31, 2008 at 4:25 a.m. A private service will be held by family and friends.
Tommy is survived by his parents Sampson A. Lefort Jr. and Hazel Danos Fisher; one sister Mary (Phillip) Plaisance; nieces Jodi Lefort and Claire Plaisance; nephews Charlie and Jake Lefort, Colin and Cain Plaisance.
Tommy is preceded in death by his step father Richard Fisher Jr.; Brother Ricky Antoine Lefort.
Tommy was a artist who taught at Sola and a avid photographer. He was a recent graduate of Nicholls State University with a Bachelors degree.
