Willie Mae Mayfield, 84, of Port Arthur died Thursday at her residence.
Funeral arrangements are pending at Gabriel Funeral Home.
Thomas 'Bubba' McDaniel
Thomas "Bubba" McDaniel, 61, of Port Arthur died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at his home.
A native and resident of Port Arthur, he was a graduate of Lincoln High School, class of 1955. He was a laborer for T. D. I. Halter Co. and was a veteran of the United States Navy.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Sixth Street Baptist Church with Rev. Ransom Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Johnson Cemetery under the direction of Hannah Funeral Home East. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of the service at the church Saturday.
Survivors include one daughter, Yessmon McDaniel Booth of Port Arthur; two brothers, Stewart McDaniel and George McDaniel, both of Beaumont; a sister, Jo Ann Baker of Port Arthur; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
O.Z. 'Sam' Scarborough
ORANGE - Services for O.Z. "Sam" Scarborough, 80, of Orange will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Second Baptist Church in Bridge City with the Rev. Sam Thomas and the Rev. Damon Bickham officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens near Bridge City.
He died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at the DuBuis Hospital in Port Arthur.
Emma Broussard Stein
Services for Emma Broussard Stein, 73, of Port Arthur will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Grammier Oberle Funeral Home in Port Arthur with the Rev. James Vanderholt officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
She died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at Park Place Medical Center.
Hazzie S. Veillon
LABELLE - Hazzie S. Veillon, 75, of LaBelle died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, at Gaspard Nursing Care Center.
A native of Mamou, La., she lived in LaBelle for 48 years. She was a homemaker and a member of Full Gospel Christian Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Dave Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Survivors include one son, Joe Veillon of Pineville, La.; three daughters, Geraldine Lewis of LaBelle, Jan Harper of Port Neches and Gail Fisher of Auburn, Ala.; two sisters, Vernice Manuel and Amy Pellican, both of Mamou, La.; one brother, Francis Soileau of Mamou, La.; 12 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

NEDERLAND - Emily H. Wills, 64, of Nederland, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2001, in Irving.
Services are pending at Levingston Funeral Home in Groves.
Kathleen Gilbert Bates
HOUSTON - Kathleen Gilbert Bates, 51, of Houston died Monday, December 11, 2000, at Ben Taub Hospital in Houston.
A native of New Castle, Pa., she was a resident of Houston for 13 years and a former resident of Nederland. She was a regional display manager with Western Auto.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pat A. Riley Funeral Home in Nederland. Burial will follow at Memory Garden Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her father, Raymond Cole Sr. of Port Acres; two sons, Johnny Gilbert Jr. of Groves and Chip Gilbert of Houston; one daughter, Wendy Gilbert of Houston; two brothers, Harry Wilson of New Castle, Pa. and Raymond Cole Sr. of Port Acres; one sister, Jeannie Hollenkamp of Louisville, Ky.; and two grandchildren.
