Willie Gray Sapp, 23, of Paris died Sunday May 17, 2009. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 12:30 pm Thursday May 21, 2009 at Little Vine cemetery with Rev. Gary Reed officiating. The family will receive friends at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home 11:00 a.m. until 12 noon Thursday

He was born January 2, 1986 in Danbury, N.C. a son of Danny Sapp and Suzi Broadus Sapp. He was a brick layer and a member of the Emberson Baptist Church.

Survivors include his father, Danny Sapp; mother, Suzi Broadus; a brother, Jason Sapp all of Paris; grandmother, Earlene Sapp of High Point, N.C.; god parents, Gary and Carol McHone of Pilot Mountain, N.C.; aunts, Iris Gantt, Jackie Davis; uncles Billy Gray Sapp, Tony Sapp, Richard Broadus, Ray Broadus, Bryant Broadus; great aunt Edna Booth and numerous cousins and other Uncles.

Pallbearers will be Richard Sikes, Howard Sikes, Jr., Jim Bo Thompson, Jason Sapp, Silas Hornback and Ryan Matthews.

Theresa Strausbaugh

Theresa Strausbaugh, 46 of Paris, passed away Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Paris Regional Medical Center.

A memorial service has been set for Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 3:00 P.M. at Paris Church of God with Rev. Doug Holt officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.

She is survived be her children, Amanda Walker, Steven Russell and wife Angela, Christopher Russell; grandchildren, Joslyn Kate Russell, Leah Marie Walker, Phyllis Arline Walker, Stephanie Christine Bratcher, Melissa Nicole Preston; brothers, Kenneth Strausbaugh II, Kenneth Strausbaugh III; sisters, Elaine Grumbling, Patsy Strausbaugh.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Phyllis Strausbaugh.

Hairl Jones, 77, of Paris was welcomed with open arms at the gates of Heaven Wednesday, May 13, 2009. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 16, 2009 at Lakeway Baptist Church with Rev. Al Clark and Rev. Johnny Rickman officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove cemetery. The family will receive friends at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home Friday 7-8 PM.

He was born in the Highland community June 12, 1931 a son of Leon and Mary Bell Jones. He married Margaret Ann Mitchell March 14, 1970 in Paris. He was a farmer/rancher in Lamar County.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; a brother Travis Jones and son-in-law Jacky McCann.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Bridgers and husband, Terry and Debbie McCann; grandchildren Justin Bridgers, April Bridgers, James Bridgers and wife LaTessa, Brad Bridgers and wife Heather, Brian McCann, Jacky McCann, Jr. and wife Mandy, Marcus McCann and wife Kathleen; great grandchildren, Katelynn and Aidan Bridgers, McKala and Harley McCann, Michael McCann, Tyler McCann and Briana McCann; daughter-in-law, Krystal Watkins.

Pallbearers will be Justin Bridgers, James Bridgers, Brad Bridgers, Brian McCann, Marcus McCann, J.R. McCann and Joby Turk.

If desired, memorials may be made to the Lakeway Baptist Church youth department.

Gilbert Lewis Austin

Gilbert Lewis Austin, 75, of Paris passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Paris Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday May 14, 2009 at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Fortenberry and Rev. Jerry Smith officiating. Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. Friday in the Dallas-Ft. Worth National cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday 6 – 8 p.m.

He was born March 11, 1934 in Quanah, Texas a son of Jessie Addison and Mary Winston Patterson Austin. He was employed by Babcock & Wilcox Corporation as a machinist. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of East Paris Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa June Austin; and sisters, Joyce Austin and Ruth Snell.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Wanda Louise Austin whom he married June 2, 1951 in Mineral Wells; children Regina Diane Austin Easlon and Mark Allen Austin; grandchildren, Joshua Paul Easlon, Tasia Diane Easlon, Dakota Joe Austin; brother, Gene Austin; sisters Augusta Lee Austin, Patsy Frazier, Earlene Ruland, and Dell Clayton.

Pallbearers will be Milford Townsdin, C. A. Earle, Stewart Dodson, Neal Belt, Marshall Threadgill, Ed Ward, and Joe Slate.

Margaret Foster Osborn

Mrs. Margaret Foster Osborn, 103, of Paris passed away February 15, 2010 in Paris Nursing Home.

She was born on July 14, 1906 in Ireland a daughter of Patrick and Nancy Curley Guidera. She worked for many years as a salesperson for Foley's Department Store and was a member of Our Lady of Victory.

She was preceded in death by husbands Archie M. Foster and Jesse Osborn; a grandchild; parents, and 9 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her children Bill Foster of Farfield and Nancy Foster of Bagwell; 3 grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday in our Lady of Victory Catholic Church with Ft. Seamus Rowland as celebrant. Interment will follow in Evergreen cemetery. Vigil will be at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday followed by visitation at the Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.

Vela Mildred Crider

Mildred Crider, 93 of Paris, formerly of Denton, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Paris Nursing Center.

Funeral services have been set for 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at First Baptist Church in Ponder, Texas. Interment will follow at Eakin cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Monday evening at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation at Ponder Baptist Church on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M.

She was born on March 30, 1916 in Ponder, Denton County, to Lyman and Linnie Thomason. She married Floyd Crider in 1932 in Henrietta, Oklahoma. She moved to Paris in 2003 to reside with her family.

She is survived by a son, Lonnie Crider and daughter-in-law, Betty Crider of Denton; daughter, Jo Ann Boots and husband Dick of Paris; grandchildren, Jarrel Crider and wife Brenda of Fremont, CA, Sandra Engelland and husband Shawn of Keller, Mark Boots and wife Dianne of Paris, Andy Boots and wife Michelle of Jonesboro, AR; great-grandchildren, Rachel, Rebekah and Anna Engelland and Andrew Boots of Jonesboro.

She was preceded in death by her husband; a brother, Douglas Thomason; sister, Elaine Crider.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Mark Boots, Andy Boots, Jarrel Crider, Gene Vaughan, Carl Crider and Fred Crider.

If desired memorials may be made to Care Team First United Methodist Church 322 Lamar Avenue Paris, Texas 75460.

The family wants to thank the staff at Pine Tree Ranch, Springlake Assisted Living Center, Paris Nursing Home and Legacy Hospice for the care and love that they gave Mildred the past three and a half years.

She will be remembered most for her sweet smile.

Louise Barnes Addison
February 13, 2010
Louise Barnes Addison, 90, of Paris, passed away Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Paris Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at First United Methodist Church in Paris. Interment will follow at 3:30 P.M. at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. on Monday evening at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.

She was born on November 29, 1919 in San Antonio, Texas to Henry Bennett Barnes and Mina Louise Voss Barnes. She grew up attending Laurel Heights United Methodist Church in San Antonio and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. She then moved to Dallas to attend Southern Methodist University, where she was a member of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She graduated in May 1942.

Louise and her family moved from Dallas to Highland Village in 1966 where they resided until 2002 when she and her husband moved to Paris. While in Dallas she was a member of the Dallas Woman’s Club, Dallas Dental Auxiliary, and volunteered at the Louise and James Addison Children’s Oral Health Clinic. She was an active member of Highland Park United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years.

During their retirement years, Louise and her husband traveled extensively throughout the world with Rotary International and enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their condominium on South Padre Island, Texas.

In Paris, Louise was a member of The Newcomer’s Club, Mary Emma Bible Study, Moderne Music Club, The Couples Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and C’est La Vie Luncheon Club.

She is survived by her children, Dr. James H. Addison and wife Diann, Louise Addison Taylor and Paul B. Addison and wife Sylvia. She was the beloved grandmother to granddaughters, Elizabeth Louise Taylor and Lindsay Anne Taylor Munoz and husband Jean-Philippe. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Frances Hicks Addison and numerous nieces and nephews including, Kathie Gibbs and husband Dr. Kelsey Gibbs, Lee Dewbre and husband Gary W. Dewbre, Steve and Marilyn Addison, Suzanne Addison, Marlin and Jenny Addison, Marshall and Carol Addison, and numerous great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Dr. James Perry Addison; her brother, Henry Bennett Barnes, Jr. and wife Margaret; brother-in-law, Dr. Jack Jenkins Addison and her parents.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Grant Dewbre, James Banse, David Gibbs, Mark Gibbs, Don McCaskill, John Lyles and Don Townes.
