It was a daily ritual for “Papa” to come home and tell all about work and the funny events of the day at the dinner table. He was a soft spoken mild mannered person, with sometimes a dry sense of humor. He was well loved by his family, friends, and co-workers, and could manage to get a laugh out of just about anyone with his comments, his smile, and his big blue eyes.
After the plant closed, he held a number of jobs, including as a security officer, and truck driver. J.A. is survived by one aunt, Maudie Westmooreland of Wichita Falls, Texas.
He enjoyed reading, spending time with his family and taking care of his grandkids and great-grandkids.
He had accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, and his favorite verse was always John 3:16. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Papa, you will be sorely missed, but we will be alright, and we know we will see you again in Heaven.
Papa, your name and legacy will live on for generations to come.
You were the best husband, father and grandfather that your wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren could have ever had. You will live on in our hearts forever. We will never forget the memories we shared and the lessons you taught us. Until we meet again, we love you.
