COOOPER — Terry Mike Toon, 53, of Cooper died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at Veteran’s Hospital in Dallas.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, in First Methodist Church in Charleston with Noel Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in Charleston cemetery under the direction of Delta Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, at Delta Funeral Home.
He was born July 8, 1950, in Paris, the son of Clyde and Treva Nabors Toon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and worked in the air conditioning and electrical business.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde Toon.
Survivors include his mother, Treva Causey of Cooper; special friend, Sonya Wampler of Cooper; two sons, Michael Toon of Denton and Scott Toon of Missouri; one daughter, Terri Toon of Cooper; one brother, Tony Toon of Charleston; and three grandchildren, Skylair James, Taran Owens and Alec Owens.
Justo M. Jasso
BOGATA — Justo M. Jasso, 60, of Bogata died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, in an automobile accident near Pittsburg.
Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, under the Pavilion of Bogata cemetery. Wood Funeral Home in Bogata has charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at Wood Funeral Home in Bogata.
He was born July 19, 1943, in San Juan, Mexico, a son of Juan and Gavina Jasso. He married
the former Nicolasa Dominquez Jan. 18, 1962, in Ojinaga, Mexico. He was a construction worker for Hawk Installation Co. of Bogata and worked for Harrison-Walker Company of Paris for 12 years.
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Krystal Valenzuela, on April 15, 2003.
Survivors include his wife, Niki of Bogata; a son, Tony Jasso of Detroit; three daughters, Juana Valenzuela of Bogata, Rosie Torres and husband, Julio, of Frisco and Norma Jasso of Grapevine; grandson, Julian Torres of Plano; and three sisters, Dora Gonzales and Pilar Alvarez, both of Odessa and Alicia Silva of Phoenix, Ariz.
Charles Lester Melton
COOPER - Charles Lester Melton, 73, of Cooper died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at his home.
Funeral services are set for 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, in Delta Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be made in the Oaklawn cemetery in Cooper under the direction of Delta Funeral Home.

He was born Sept. 16, 1930, in Huntsville, Ala., the son of James and Lou Ada Haynes Melton. He married
Margie Talley on March 12, 1975. He was retired from Borden's Milk.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Peggy Squires.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Melton of Cooper; two sons, Bill Melton of Commerce and Jerry Melton of Roxton; one daughter, Jean Minshew of Sulphur Springs; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Delbert R. Bounds
Delbert R. Bounds, 73, of Paris, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, went to be with his Lord on Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at Christus St. Joseph’s Hospital South.
Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 28, in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Reger and the Rev. Jack Elliott officiating. Masonic graveside rites will follow in Evergreen cemetery.

He was born Nov. 21, 1930, in Broken Bow, Okla., a son of Henry Edgar and Mary Brewer Bounds. He was a graduate of Broken Bow schools and president of Blossom Machine & Manufacturing, Inc. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Blossom Masonic Lodge and was an avid outdoorsman.
He married
the former Mary Eatherly on Sept. 24, 1961, in Dallas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Lisa Meadors; two sisters, Marie Cox and Mary Lou Allen; and three brothers, Minor Bounds, Henry Bounds Jr. and Barker Bounds.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, John Bounds and wife, Trish, and Jason Bounds and wife, Sonya, all of Blossom; five daughters, Debbie Hooton and husband, Jack, of Seattle, Wash., Elizabeth Spratt and husband, Ronnie, of Irving, Ann Jones and husband, Mark, of Deport, Susan Campbell and husband, Jeff, of Paris and Caryl Morris of Longview; 14 grandchildren, Justin Bounds, Angie Bounds, Tabitha Brown, Derek Atnip, Blake Hooton, Kim Kamla, Lydia Booth, Leslie Lindsey, Mandy Spratt, Kathy Spratt, Eric Campbell, Michael Fulford, Misty Smith and Cory Wilburn; seven great-grandchildren, Jared Meadors, Hailey Shultz, Trace Smith, April Styles, Olivia Styles, Catetlyn Wilburn and Heather Wilburn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be sons John and Jason Bounds, Leon Anderson, Frank Peeples, Stephen Bush, Jody Perry and Chris Varga.
Edith Lavelle “Duga” Ragsdale Franklin
BOGATA — Edith Lavelle “Duga” Ragsdale Franklin, 84, formerly of Bogata, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, in Heritage Care Center in Paris.
Funeral services are set for 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 28, under the Pavilion of Bogata cemetery. Burial will be made in Bogata cemetery under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.

She was born May 3, 1919, in Alma, Ark., the daughter of Thomas and Ola Qualls Ragsdale. She married
Marvin Holmes “Jack” Franklin on Dec. 6, 1938, in Pattonville. He preceded her in death Nov. 19, 1992.
She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patsy Ward, Nov. 4, 2001; her parents; three brothers, Thomas, Henry and Joe Ragsdale; and a sister, Thelma Ragsdale Bryan.
Survivors include two sons, Rick L. Franklin and wife, Mary Ann, of Paris and Jack B. Franklin and wife, Nettie, of Garland; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ellen Ragsdale Large and Pauline Ragsdale Hargrove, both of Fresno, Calif., and Virginia Ragsdale Turner of Waco.
James Flowers
James Flowers, 61, of Paris passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2004, in Dubuis Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 2, in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Reger officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen cemetery under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.

He was born on March 18, 1943, in Clarksville, a son of Ray and Pauline Jackson Flowers. He retired from the Texas Department of Transportation in August 1998, after 37 1/2 years as maintenance supervisor for Lamar County. He and his son, Keith, were owners of Dollins Bail Bonds until his illness in November of last year when he retired. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. On Nov. 12, 1965, he married
Rebecca “Cookie” Dollins in Paris.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca “Cookie” Dollins; one son, Keith Flowers of Paris; his mother, Pauline Flowers of Paris; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Named as pallbearers are Keith Hughes, Rusty Holland, Alvis Bates, Marion Burrow, Glenn Williams and Jerry Pearce.
J.H. “Steve” Stevens
CLARKSVILLE — J.H. “Steve” Stevens, 85, of Detroit died Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at East Texas Medical Center in Clarksville.
Funeral services are set for 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 3, in Lindeman Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Permenter officiating. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in Sabine cemetery in Lindale, under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.

He was born March 8, 1919, in Maud, the son of Johnny and Lillie Mae Hammonds Stevens. He was a Methodist. He grew and sold many watermelons for many years in the Detroit area. He married
Peggy Beegle Stevens in 1963, in Honey Grove.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy Beegle Stevens; sons, Donald Stevens and wife, Dolly, of Midlothian and Jessie R. Stevens and wife, Ruby, of Lindale; one daughter, Dorothy Bryan and husband, John, of Liberty City; sister, Ethel J. Anthony of Paris; sister-in-law, Laura Stevens of Detroit; grandchildren, Carissa Purcell, Courtney and Jody Clemments, Jessie D. Stevens, Jennifer L. Stevens, John and Shannon Stevens and Joshua Lee Stevens; and great grandchildren, Addison Purcell, Anna H., Emmah and Chyanne Stevens.
Taylor Anson Waller
COOPER — Taylor Anson Waller, 63, of Cooper passed away Monday, March 29, 2004, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, April 1, at Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Gary Regan officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Grove cemetery under the direction of Delta Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
He was born May 21, 1940, in Cooper, the son of Anson Jones Waller and Mary Ruth Taylor Waller. He was an employee of Kimberly Clark in Paris. On June 10, 1960, he married
Linda Skinner.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Waller of Cooper; one son, Scotty Waller and wife, Lea, of Cooper, one daughter, Tammy Crutcher and husband, Billy, of Cooper; two brothers, Billy Waller and wife, Leigh, of Fredericksburg and Billy Garth Moon and wife, Minnie, of Wausau, Wis.; and three grandchildren, Tanner Bill Crutcher, Savana Raine Waller and Tate Anson Waller.
