Naosho Regina Walker
Naosho Regina Walker, 86, of Sumner died Monday, March 29, 2004 at Paris Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 1, at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Verdo Callender officiating. Funeral services are under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.
She was born July 23, 1917, in Huntington, W.Va., a daughter of Wade Hampton and Leola Jane Shanks Betts. She married
James Walker in Rosenburg in November of 1960. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one sister.
She is survived by her husband, James Walker of Sumner; three daughters, Bettie Sue Patterson of Tulsa, Okla., Peggy Ann Graham of Franklin, N.H. and Carrie Lynn Middleton of Miamisburg, Ohio; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Brad Madding
Brad Madding, 33, of Paris died Monday, March, 29, 2004, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 1, at East Paris Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Fortenberry and the Rev. Mike Atkins officiating. Interment followed in Evergreen cemetery under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.
He was born Oct. 6, 1970, in Fort Worth, a son of Bill and Linda Shipman Madding. He was a graduate of Paris High School, Paris Junior College and attended East Texas State University. He was a dedicated member of East Paris Baptist church and co-owner of Screen Graphics in Paris.
On April 22, 1995, he married
Terri Leigh Fitzgerald in Paris.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Madding, on Sept. 23, 2003; and by his grandparents, George and Helen Madding and Neal Shipman.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters, the joy of his life: Lauren, Laney and Landree; his father, Bill Madding of Paris; two brothers, Chad Madding and wife, Jennifer, of Dallas and Jody Madding and wife, Holley, of West Monroe, La.; a grandmother, Eva Lee Shipman of Paris; his father-in-law and mother in-in-law, Terry and Sandra Fitzgerald of Paris; brothers-in-law, Toby Fitzgerald and wife, Tracey, of Hurst and Tracy Fitzgerald of Carrollton; nephews, Drew and Tyler Madding of Dallas; a niece, Taylor Fitzgerald of Hurst; aunts and uncles, Lana Chandler and husband, Jerry, of Paris, Pete and Pat Madding of Atlanta, Ga., Jackie and Joyce Fitzgerald of Leesburg, Ga., Billy and Evelyn Fitzgerald of North Richland Hills, Stan and Dianne Haire of Colquitt, Ga., and Charlie and Joann Robinson of Auburndale, Fla; cousins, Jenny Jordan of Longview, Casey Jordan of Midland and Chris Madding of Atlanta, Ga.; his grandparents by marriage, Horace and Jean Haire of Leesburg, Ga., and Ann Means of Auburndale, Fla.; and dear friends, Brent and Suzy Beaird.
Named as pallbearers are Chad Madding, Jody Madding, Toby Fitzgerald, Tracy Fitzgerald, Brandon Carter, Brent Beaird, and Casey Jordan.
Honorary pallbearers are Jackie Fitzgerald, Billy Fitzgerald, Stan Haire, Pete Madding, Jerry Chandler, Ricky Jordan, Chris Madding, Jeff Shiver, Butch Moore and Jeff Fitzgerald.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of Brad’s many customers and business associates whom he considered special friends.
Richard Wayne Jones
COOPER — Richard Wayne Jones, 70, died Saturday, March 27, 2004.
A celebration of his life was scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, at Ladonia First Baptist Church.
He was born in Pecan Gap on July 14, 1933. His belief in building a better community kept him busy in organizations which benefited others. He was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church of Ladonia. He petitioned the Masonic Lodge on his 21st birthday and was previously Master of Bethel Lodge 134 in Ladonia. He was a member of the Ladonia volunteer fire department for over 30 years. He served on the Fannindel school board for 12 years, serving as president for two years. He served on the Ladonia City Council 10 years, six of these years he was mayor pro-tem. He was an officer in the Ladonia Saddle Club for 25 years and was a guiding force of the Ladonia Pioneer Days Celebration.
He spent two years in the United States Army. He went to Louisiana with the old A Company from Cooper. He spent 19 months in France with the 319th Station Medical Unit from 1955 to 1957. He was in the National Guard for 20 years. He worked as postmaster of the Klondike Post Office for over 20 years before retiring in 1999.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Laurence and Fay Jones; and one brother, Billy Jones.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Waneta Jones of Ladonia; two sons, Ricky Jones of Ladonia and John Jones and his wife, Karen, of Celeste; one daughter, Karen Pickard and her husband, Ed, of Pecan Gap; three granddaughters, Lyndsay Gable and her husband, Carey, of Belton, Katie Pickard of Dallas and Haylee Hemphill of Celeste; and three grandson, Chad and Jonathan Jones, both of Commerce, and Tripp Hemphill of Celeste.
If desired, the family requests memorials be given to the First Baptist Church of Ladonia.

Charlie White, 68, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Paris Healthcare Center.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Maxey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harvey Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in Reed’s Prairie cemetery under the direction of Maxey Funeral Home.
Vergie Wilkerson
CLARKSVILLE — Vergie Wilkerson, 83, of Clarksville passed away Monday, March 29, 2004, at Regency Nursing Center in Clarksville.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, at Biggs Chapel in Nathan, Ark., with the Rev. James Brown officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 30, 1921, in Murfeesboro, Ark., the daughter of Richard Bruce and Lillie Mae Cox Woodall. She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Dale Wilkerson; and a son, Richard Bruce Wilkerson.
She is survived by sons, David and Nancy Wilkerson of Annona, Robert “Butch” and Katie Wilkerson of Blossom, Gaylon Wilkerson of Hot Springs, Ark., and Paul and Karen Wilkerson of Paris; daughters, Lorene Linton of Clarksville, Shirley and Charles Ray of Blossom, Donna Wilkerson of Hemphill, Virginia and Lon Branum of Tyler and Debbie and Bill Blackman of Ga.; brother-in-law, L.Z. “Pete” Wilkerson of Reno; sister-in-law, Jean Tipton of Borger; 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

NAPA, Calif. — Mary Evelyn McHam, 97, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2004.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 10, at Mount Olivet cemetery, 2301 North Sylvania Ave., Fort Worth.
Visitation will be held between the hours of 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Olivet cemetery, Fort Worth.
The last nine months of life were spent with her son, Cleo A. Gentry, and his family in Napa, Calif. She was born in Westbrook and moved to Paris as a young girl, where she met her first husband, Charlie Dykes Gentry. After his death she married
Julius Edward McHam. She worked for Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Paris for many years before she retired. She was a life long member of the United Pentecostal Church. She is now residing in Heaven with those loved ones who had passed before her.
She was preceded in death by her three sisters, Minnie Worrell, Opal King and Maudie Culp; brother, Woodrow Wilson; two daughters, Valerie Williams and Donna Laird; sons-in-law, Lawrence Williams and Romanus Laird; granddaughters, Barbara Gentry and Sharley Sue Williams; and two husbands, Charlie Gentry and Edward McHam.
She is survived by her sister, Cecil Humphrey; brother, Lloyd Wilson; son and daughter-in-law, Cleo A. and Ellen Gentry; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
