Ethel Alexander, 88, of Paris passed away Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2005, at Paris Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 12, 1916, to the parentage of Monroe and Mahala Dangerfield Bailey.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, L.U. Lee; her husband, T.O. Alexander; and a brother, Melvin Bailey.
She leaves to mourn her passing a niece, Glenda Williams of Paris, Sue Easter of Paris, Nikki Easter of Houston and Henry Bailey of Paris.
William B. Williams
William B. Williams, better known as “Peiter”, 40, of Paris died peacefully Thursday, Jan. 27, 2005, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
A celebration service is set for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Olive Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. R.L. Gray officiating. Interment follows in Fairland-Littlejohn cemetery under the direction of Maxey Funeral Home.
He was born Nov. 1, 1964, the son of R.J. and Mary E. Williams. He was the nephew of Etta Mae Williams and John Brown of El Paso.
He is survived by his sisters and brothers along with numerous family members and friends.
Faye Merritt Stephenson
LUBBOCK — Faye Merritt Stephenson, 72, of Lubbock passed away Friday, Jan. 28, 2005, at her home.
Funeral services were set for 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 31, at Sanders Memorial Chapel with Alva Conklin officiating. Interment followed in City of Lubbock cemetery under the direction of Sanders Funeral Home.
She was born on April 27, 1932, in Lynn County, to D. F. and Onie Cooper. She was a bookkeeper for many years before retiring. She married
Haskell Merritt in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1963. She married
Finis Stephenson on Feb. 14, 1970. She attended Wolfforth Church of Christ.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Teresa Lott and husband, James, and Brenda Merritt Jarnagin and husband, David, all of Lubbock; two step-children, Gary Stephenson and wife, Liz, and Delores Self and husband, Jim, all of Lubbock; two sisters, Joyce Read and Dorthy Stephenson both of Lubbock; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

CLARKSVILLE — Frances Janett Holden Sloan, 90, of Texarkana died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005.

Hazel Marie McCreight
Hazel Marie McCreight, 91, of Paris died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005, in Paris Nursing Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2, in Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glen Vickers officiating. Interment follows in Evergreen cemetery under the direction of Gene Roden's Sons Funeral.
The family receives friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, at 2605 Ridgeview St. in Paris. They will also receive friends one hour prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born Hazel Marie Roddy on May 8, 1913, in Honey Grove, the daughter of J.B. and Boonie McKee Roddy. She married
F.L. McCreight on Aug. 29, 1931, in Hugo, Okla. He preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1970. She was a homemaker and a Methodist.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Fred McCreight, on Jan. 19, 1993.
Survivors include her son, David McCreight and wife, Sharon, of Dallas; sister, Louise McKee of Paris; grandsons, Derek McCreight and wife, April, of DeSoto, Dustin McCreight and wife, Paula, of Gunter and Kent McCreight of Houston and five great-grandchildren.
Alice Lozano Tijerina
Alice Lozano Tijerina, born Aug. 27, 1911, in Poteet, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, in Paris at the age of 96.
Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at, the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower located at 1715 N. Zarzamora. Committal service follows at Sunset Memorial Park. Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home in Paris is in charge of arrangements.
Pamela Jean Baugh
HONEY GROVE — Pamela Jean Baugh, 58, of Honey Grove passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, at Paris Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services are set for 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Oakwood cemetery with the Rev. Loren A. DuBois officiating.
She was born Oct. 23, 1946, in Honey Grove, the daughter of Jeffie Wyatt and Betty Gene Gilmer Bell. She married
Jimmie Don Baugh on Aug. 5, 1967, in Honey Grove. She graduated from Honey Grove High School in 1965, and also graduated from ETSU in 1978, with a bachelor’s degree in education. She taught school for 24 years, teaching at West Lamar and Chisum independent school districts. She was a member of McKenzie United Methodist Church in Honey Grove.
She is survived by her husband, Jimmie Don Baugh of the home; a daughter, Karla Renae Baugh of Honey Grove; a son, Jason Wyatt Baugh of Lamasco; mother, Betty Gilmer Bell of Honey Grove; and a sister, Anita Louise Bell Moore of Honey Grove.

IRVING — Hoyle Pomroy, 72, of Irving passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at his home.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Brown’s Memorial Chapel. Interment follows at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens cemetery.

He was born Dec. 22, 1932, in Deport, the son of Richard W. Pomroy and Quincy Pomroy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Redus D. Pomroy.
He is survived by his wife, Wanda Pomroy; sons, Paul Richard Pomroy and wife, Lisa, of Colleyville, and David Bryant Pomroy of Dallas; sister, Marie Blackman of Aurora, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Callie and Jacob.

Ophelia Lamb
LADONIA — Ophelia Lamb, 100, of Ladonia passed away Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, in McKinney.
Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, at Ladonia Church of Christ with Joe Wishard and Sammy Dobbs officiating. Interment follows in Ladonia cemetery under the direction of Delta Funeral Home.

She was born Aug. 1, 1904, in Commerce. She was the daughter of Stephen Whitley and Hattie Hanes Whitley and had lived in and around Ladonia all her life. She married
Frank Lamb on Nov. 8, 1922, and he preceded her in death on July 28, 1966. She had been a member of Church of Christ since 1917.
Survivors include nieces and nephews, Sammie Whitley of Euless, Jean Myrick, Rusty and Sue Cheekmore, Peggy Hanning and Margie Haney.
John Hamilton Jones
FORT WORTH — John Hamilton Jones, 68, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2005, in Fort Worth.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the sanctuary of Altamesa Church of Christ with Danny Simms officiating. An additional service was held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Calvary United Methodist Church, 3105 Lamar Ave., Paris. Burial followed in Evergreen cemetery.
The family received friends from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Friday in the Williamsburg Room of Thompson’s Harveson & Cole Funeral Home.
He was born in Sulphur Springs and raised in Paris. He began his successful business career as a stock boy in his uncle’s grocery store. He graduated with an associate’s degree in business from Paris Junior College and completed his MBA at SMU in 1963. After working briefly at Pharaoh Technologies and Texas Instruments in Dallas, he hired on with Western Co. of North America and moved his young family to Fort Worth in 1968. Hired as a general accountant, he was eventually promoted to vice president of finance before resigning in 1980.
After three years of independent consulting, he partnered with the Davenport brothers of Burly Fence & Hardware and Mueller Supply Inc. based in Ballinger. He retired after 18 years as CFO with Mueller, where he oversaw its expansion from one store in Texas to 23 stores in four states. In 2002, he returned to Fort Worth, where he reunited with old friends and launched travel adventures in his RV.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jayne Adele Jones; his father, John Herschel Jones; and his mother, Ruby Day Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Jones; their children, James Mabe Jr., Marie Adele Broyles, John Hamilton Jones II, Deborah Jayne Massey and Mark Clement Jones; brother, Joe Boyd Jones of Paris; sister, Linda Kay Kimery of Arlington; 10 grandchildren; and many close friends and other family throughout Texas and beyond.
Pallbearers were Bryan Davenport, David Davenport, Jeff Harp, Tyler Jones, Trey Mabe and James Matthews.
Honorary pallbearers were Ed Armstrong, Jerry Boone, Bill Bogle, Terry Dallas, John Fuston, Charles Harris, Frank Harris, Tommy Haynes, Bill Kirby, Bill McFadden, Bob Shields, Gene Smyers, George Solomon and Don Weeks.
