Rhoda Griffin Borsch, 97, of Deport passed away Monday, Oct. 17, 2005, at which time Bright-Holland Funeral Home received her into its care.
Private funeral services will be held at a later date by the family.
She is survived by two daughters, Christine Prejean of West Hollywood, Calif., and Jennifer Norris and husband, Ken, of Arthur City.

Wanda K. McCann, 61, of the Woodland community passed away Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, at her residence.

She was born Nov. 17, 1944, in Holly, Colo., a daughter of Lewis Gilbert and Opal Pearl Speer Cathcart. She was a sales associate for Wal-Mart.

Karen Boss, 49, of Arthur City passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at her home.
Graveside services were set for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Forest Chapel cemetery under the direction of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Pierce and Wanda Wharton Pierce.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Boss; daughters, Stormy Boss and April Boss; brother, Daryl Pierce; sisters, Ranonda Pass and Rebecca Dawn Crawford.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Slagle, Terry Slagle, Reggie Horton, Richard Drake, Larry Grayson and Mickey Kelly.
Elbert Eugene ‘Gene’ Lewis
DEKALB — Elbert Eugene “Gene” Lewis, 46, of DeKalb died Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, in Texarkana Hospital.
Funeral services are set for 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home with Robby Bates officiating. Interment follows in Woodmen cemetery.
He was born May 28, 1959, in Mount Pleasant. He was a master sergeant, retired from the U.S. Army and National Guard. He was employed with Eubanks Auto Electric Inc.
He is survived by his wife, Neala Ann Eubanks Lewis of DeKalb; two daughters, Jessica Lewis of Blossom and Brianna Mitchell of DeKalb; four sons and one daughter-in-law, Josh and Darylin Lewis of Oklahoma City, Okla., Riley Lewis and Colton Lewis, both of Blossom, and Christian Mitchell of DeKalb; mother and step-father, Maxine and James Hopper of DeKalb; father, Elbert “Hat” Lewis of DeKalb; one brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Debra Lewis of Foreman, Ark.; one step-brother, and sister-in-law, Eric and Carla Hopper of Pittsburg; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cindy and Darrell McGregor of DeKalb and Kim and Michael Downs of Avery; and a number of other relatives and friends.
Vernie H. Hinson
Vernie H. Hinson, 97, of Roxton passed away Monday, Jan. 31, 2006, in Honey Grove Nursing Center.
Burial will be in the Englewood cemetery in Slaton.
Friends may call at Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home Thursday until 6 p.m.
She was born in Lone Wolfe, Okla., a daughter of Lewis Ansel Napoleon and Virginia Toller Hudgins. She was a member of Cottonwood Church of God and was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Percy Hinson, whom she married
on Jan. 14, 1940, in New Mexico; parents; and brothers and sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Zahn and husband, Melvin, of Roxton; granddaughter, Angel Edwards and husband, Robert; a great-grandchild, Trinitidee Edwards; and several nieces and nephews.
Wanda Lee McElroy
Wanda Lee McElroy, 70, of Paris passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006, at her home.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home has scheduled graveside services for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, at Evergreen cemetery with the Rev. Mark Gray officiating.
The family receives friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 28, 1936, in Howland, the daughter of William Ardell and Mable Chance Gray. She married
Tommy McElroy on Dec. 26, 1953. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2004. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and retired from Campbell Soup Company in 1994, following 25 years service to the company.
Survivors include three sons, Danny McElroy and wife, Doris, of Paris, Rodger McElroy of Hawaii and Michael McElroy of Lewisville; one daughter, Linda Easton and husband, Chris, of West Point, MS; seven grandchildren, Chadley Easton, Jeffrey Easton, Kyle Easton, Logan McElroy, Tory Branum, Caitlin McElroy and Jennye Woodard; three great-grandchildren, Bailea Branum, Cameron Branum and Caden Easton; two brothers, John H. Gray of Paris and Gene Gray of Lufkin, along with one sister, Louise Cope of Howland.
Casket bearers will be Michael McElroy, Danny McElroy, Chadley Easton, Jeffrey Easton, Kyle Easton and Logan McElroy.

COOPER — Horace Ambert Byrd, 72, of Enloe died Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, in Paris.
Funeral services are scheduled at 2 .m. Monday, Oct. 15 in the Delta Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronald Buddy Barnett officiating. Burial follows in the Hickory Grove cemetery west of Roxton.

He was born in Ardmore, Okla. Feb. 27, 1935, the son of Horace Byrd Sr. and Helen Meeley Byrd. He married
Patsy Ruth Hargove on Aug. 17, 1958, and she preceeded him in death on Aug. 21, 2000. He married
Deyanira Delgado in April 2003.
Helen Noble
SULPHUR SPRINGS — Helen Noble, 89, of Sulphur Springs died Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at Legends Healthcare Center in Paris.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 15, at Brashear cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
Visitation was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 27, 1923, in Como, the daughter of Jim and Jesse Knight Smith. She married
James Noble in Hopkins County on July 27, 1940. He preceded her in death in 1998. She was a retired bookkeeper for Welch Gas.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, J.B. Smith and John Smith and one sister, Myrl Allen.
Survivors include her sons, Jimmy Noble of Paris and Danny Noble of Daingerfield; daughter, Gina Grant, of Flowermound; sister, Jimmie Nell Hartley of Argyle; grandchildren, Jeff Noble, Stephanie Kovatch, Kelli Collard, and Shelli Barron and nine great-grandchildren.

CLARKSVILLE — Elbert Coleman, 94, of Clarksville died Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007.
