Roosevelt "Rudy" Elder, 79, 121-3rd NW, died Thursday, Dec. 3, 1998, at St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Tudor Street Church of Christ with R.L. Clark Sr. officiating. Maxey Funeral Home will make burial in Reed's Prairie cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Friday at 658-3rd NW.
Surviving are his wife, Thetis L. Elder; sons, Jefferson Elder of New Orleans, La., Dr. William Glaze Sr. of Carrollton and Roderick Gulley Sr. of Oklahoma City; daughters, Cassandra Elder of Paris, Marilyn Tarver and Tracey Gulley of Dallas and Sonnetta Barrow of New Orleans; a brother, Lee Oscar Elder of Dallas; a sister, Pauline Elder of Gladewater; and 12 grandchildren.
Willie Lee Mitchell
Willie Lee Mitchell, 48, 2235 Bonham St., died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Maxey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. D.R. Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Restlawn Garden cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Walters Mitchell; his mother, Arze Beard Mitchell; sons, Tarsay K. Walters Mitchell and Carlos Dewayne Walters, both of Paris; daughters, Shanna T. Mitchell and Wanda B. Johnson Mitchell, both of Paris; brothers, Cleo Mitchell Jr., Willie James Mitchell and Billy Wayne Mitchell, all of Paris; seven sisters, Paula Wallace, Mittie Jean Walters, Ollie Mae Hill, Patricia Ann Mitchell, Vicki Mathis Mitchell, all of Paris, Carol Rutledge of Oklahoma City and Ann Meeds of Phoenix, Ariz.; and eight grandchildren.

Eugene Harkins
Eugene Harkins, 87, Rt. 1, Arthur City, died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home. Burial will be at 1 p.m. at Odd Fellows cemetery in Farmersville. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The Rev. Dale Tarp will officiate.
He was born April 18, 1911, in Swink, Okla., to Silas and Janie A. Adkison Harkins. He married
Leotie Stewart May 19, 1975, in Rockwall. He was self-employed as a service station operator and was a member of Shoals Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Leotie; four daughter, Mary McElvany and husband Leon of Dallas, Bobbie Worrell and husband Gene of Dallas, Reda Cavender and husband Doyle of Garland, Vickey Atteberry and husband Charles of Blue Ridge; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Ursury and husband Woodrow of Winnsboro; and a brother, Jim Harkins and wife Becky of Altus, Okla.
Pallbearers will be Allen Atteberry, Jeff Cavender, Bryan McElvany, Gary Ward, and Greg Johnson.
Myrtie Fults
Myrtie Fults, 64, of Chicota died Tuesday, Dec. 1, 1998, at St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Dr. Wilbur Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Tigertown cemetery.
Mrs. Fults was born Dec. 5, 1933, in Wade, Okla. to Earl and Johnnie Hicks Edwards. She married
J.D. Fults Aug. 30, 1948, in Paris.
Surviving are her husband; two daughters, Linda Williams of California and Pamela Phelps of Houston; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Lee Smithie and Patty Bennett; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, and two sisters.
Mrs. K.B. Drake
Mrs. K.B. (Bertha Walker) Drake, 88, formerly of the Forest Chapel community, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, in Paris Nursing Home.
Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct services at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, in Forest Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Burial will be in Forest Chapel cemetery. The body will lie at the church for an hour prior to service time. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the Richard Drake residence in Powderly.
Mrs. Drake was born Dec. 21, 1909, in Valliant, Okla., to Johnny and Alberta Taylor Walker. She married
Kim Buck Drake Nov. 2, 1924, in Bokchito, Okla. They had been married
nearly 61 years when he died Jan. 26, 1985.
She was a member of Garretts Bluff Baptist Church where she had taught Sunday school for many years.
Surviving are six children: Richard Drake and wife Patty of Powderly, Hazel Briley and husband Douglas of Paris, Melba Parrish of Forney, Ann Gooch of Sumner, Helen McDaniel and husband LaRoyce of Sulphur Springs, and Becky Pridemore and husband Jon of Sumner; a daughter-in-law, Dean Drake of Mesquite; 19 grandchildren, Frank Gimbel, Suzanne Walls, Marita Schmidt, Cindy Drake, Kyle Drake, Joni Parrish, Kelli Wilson, Sara Parrish, Sandra Powell, Debbie Fugate, Janet Eaton, Rory McDaniel, Wade McDaniel, Shannon Brock, Bo Pridemore, Deanna Pridemore, Paul Drake, Brad Drake, and LeAnn Sartor; 30 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, J.C. Walker of Paris.
She was preceded in death by a son, Hubert Drake in 1995; a daughter, Mary Berry in 1978; and a grandson, Kim Parrish in 1972.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Frank Gimbel, Kyle Drake, Rory McDaniel, Wade McDaniel, Bo Pridemore, Paul Drake, and Brad Drake.

Willard Osmen Bonner, 88, of Blossom died at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 1998, at Cherry Street Manor.

Mr. Bonner was born Dec. 4, 1909, in Omen, Texas, to Joe Osmen and Nellie Blythe Alexander Bonner. He was a graduate of Arp schools and a member of the United Methodist Church. He was a retired builder and grocer. He married
Kitty Orene Thompson Feb. 27, 1929.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Rita Miears of Bedford; two sons, Larry O. Bonner of Sylvan and M. H. Bonner of Bedford, seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Lee Smith, 82, of Annona died Monday, Nov. 30, 1998, in St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center.
Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, at Georgia cemetery with the Rev. Tim Young officiating. The body will lie at the funeral home from 8-9:30 a.m. Thursday. The family will be at the Fred Smith home on High 19/24 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Surviving are five sons, Charles, Fred and Ernest Smith, all of Paris, Robert Smith of Springfield, Mo. and William Smith of Clarksville; six daughters, Joy Shaver of Forney, Betty Ford of Paris, Mary and Doris Ann Smith of Paris, Pauline Knoble of Muskogee, Okla., and Bobbie Aubrey of Annona and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His wife, the former Ola Mae Spencer, died June 11, 1991. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Edna May Smith and two sons, Derral Wayne and John Harvey Smith.

Mrs. McLaughlin was born March 11, 1913, in Hagansport to W.B. and Sapronia Haley Roach. She married
Elmer Elie McLaughlin April 4, 1926, in Hopkins County.
Surviving are her husband; four children, Johnny McLaughlin of Paris, Lenore Richey of Sulphur Springs, Sherry Doyal of Fort Towson, Okla., and David L. McLaughlin of Paris; a daughters-in-law, Mrs. Bobby (Linda) McLaughlin of Blossom; two sisters, Ethel Wood of Sulphur Springs and Lunell Graham of Paris; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren;and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Edwin and Bobby McLaughlin, and by a grandson, Rob Richey.
