Alfred Hugh "Bo" White
Alfred Hugh "Bo' White, 61, Rt. 2, Powderly, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 1998, at Baylor Medical Center, Garland.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home will conduct graveside services at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, at Knights of Honor cemetery in Blossom. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. White was born July 18, 1937, in Blossom to Homer H. and Mable Arnold White. He married
Peggy L. Turner McMellon Oct. 12, 1968, in Paris. He graduated from Blossom High School and worked for Babcock and Wilcox for 35 years and was presently employed by North Lamar ISD. He was a member of the National Guard. At his request upon his death organ donation was made.
Surviving are are wife; two sons, Chuck McMellon of Powderly and Mike McMellon of Arthur City; four grandchildren, Courtney, C.J., Michial and Jessica McMellon; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, James White of Blossom and Roy White and Troy White, both of Longview. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Gauntt.
Honorary pallbearers will be James White, Roy White, Troy White, Chuck McMellon, Mike McMellon, Ronnie Lester, Kinny McKinny, C.J. McMellon and Michial McMellon.

Travis Henry Hildreth
Travis Henry Hildreth, 76, of Paris, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998, at his home.
Bright-Holland Funeral Home will conduct services at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, at the Evangel Church of God, with the Rev. Lynn Hildreth and the Rev. Jonathan Back officiating. Burial will be in Providence cemetery.
Mr. Hildreth was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Chicota, a son of Henry and Mamie Annett Hildreth. He married
Oletha Morrison Sept. 25, 1939, in Hugo. He was a member of the Evangel Church of God and the DAV. He served in the Army in World War II.
Survivors include the wife; five children and their spouses, Sandra and Benny Sandlin of Kaufman, the Rev. Lynn and Betty Hildreth of Longview, Clint and Jeanie Hildreth of Paris, Joyce and the Rev. Jeff Fitzgerald of DeKalb and Darlene and Jerry McDowell of Paris; two sisters, Ruby Black of Denton and Lena Trulock of Pairs; seven grandchildren, Benny Ray, Cheri, Bret, Clint Jason, Chauncey, Dusty and Cody; and eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Benny Ray Sandlin, Bret Hildreth, Clint Jason Hildreth, Dusty Fitzgerald, Cody McDowell, Chris Caddenhead and Christopher Giordano.
Woodrow W. "Woody" Reeder
Woodrow W. "Woody" Reeder, 84, of Paris, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998, at St. Joesph's Hospital and Health Center.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, in the chapel of Fry-Gibbs Funeral Home, with the Rev. Rickey Hayes and the Rev. Steve Miller officiating. Burial will be in Restland Cemtery of Roxton.
The family will receive friends from 4-5 p.m. Sunday at the Funeral Home.
Mr. Reeder was born Jan. 14, 1914, in Lamar County. He was a son of William and Mary Martin Reeder. He attended public schools in Oklahoma and Roxton and was of the Methodist faith. He was retired from Santa Fe Railroad.
He married
Gladys Tissier Reeder in 1945, and she preceded him in death Dec. 3, 1984.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth Reeder and his wife Margaret of Brithright; a daughter, Debra Edelhauser and her husband Rodger of Paris; six grandchildren, Dalana Yackeschi of Paris, Willie Reeder of Bells, Jodi Edelhauser of Paris, Cody Edelhauser of Paris, Chad Bennett of Gilmer and Joe Paul Bennett of Birthright; four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, three brothers and a sister.
Pallbearers will be Charley Boren, D.H. Boren, Bobby Horton, Ray Scott Clark, Brian Bostick and Jack Bush.
Kenneth Ray Braddy
COOPER - Kenneth Ray Braddy, 60, died Saturday, Nov. 28, 1998, in St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center in Paris.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, with the Rev. Claude Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn cemetery in Cooper.
He was born Feb. 20, 1938, in Cooper, a son of Sam and Sallie (Shields) Braddy. He was a retiraed machinist.
Survivors include three sons, Darren Braddy of Chicago, Martin Braddy and Jason Braddy, both of Sulphur Springs; two sisters, Bertha Jones and Jewel Holdren, both of Cooper; and three grandchildren, Tarrah Braddy, Tessah Braddy and Tyler Braddy.
Delta Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Wylie France Jr.
COOPER - Wylie France Jr., 71, died Friday, Nov. 27, 19098, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center in Paris.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 29, in Oaklawn cemetery in Cooper, with the Rev. Lyn Holly officiating. Delta Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born Feb. 7, 1927, in Delta County, a son of Wylie and Grace (Hamilton) France. He was a lifelong resident of Delta County and was a retired rancher. He married
Betty Nelson Dec. 31, 1950.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Wylie France III of Tyler and Terry France of Cooper.
Mr. France was preceded in death by a daughter, Carole France.
Amelia Mary Walker
Amelia Mary Walker, 70, of Detroit, died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998, in Dallas.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, in Martin Memorial United Methodist Church in Detroit. The Rev. Mike Fortenberry, the Rev. Mike Ryherd and the Rev. Dale Hensarling will officiate. Burial will be in Detroit cemetery. Services are under direction of Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitation 4-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Martin was a retired teacher and member of the martin Memorial United Methodist Church.
She was born Nov. 5, 1928, to T.A. and Ethel Miller Marchbanks, and married
James Richard Walker Feb. 9, 1952.
Survivors include the husband; two sons, Rickey Walker of Detroit and Ronald Ivan Walker of Mexia; a daughter, Rendy Miller of Detroit; a sister, Jean Coston of Paris; four grandchildren, Chance Allen Walker, Heath Dollins, Chelsie Miller and Nicholas Miller and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Harry Scoggins, Bobby Jones, Sonny Lovington, Junior Phifer, Corky Whitley, Paul Coleman, Otis Phifer and James Boyd Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the Martin Memorial United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Chilton.
Mayola Strother Thompson
HONEY GROVE - Funeral services for Mayola Strother Thompson of Forest Hill community will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 30, 1998, at Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Chapel in Honey Grove. Burial will be in Forest Hill cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Thompson was born in Paris July 12, 1910. She was the daughter of John and Maggie Moore Strother.
The family moved to Cottonwood community, where she lived until her marriage to Scott Thompson Feb. 17, 1930. They then moved to Forest Hill community. She attended schools in Paris, Cottonwood and Maxey and was a graduate of Brookston High School and a member of the Forest Hill United Methodist Church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Jack King; a grandaughter, Emily Suzanne and her husband Jerry Clark of Paris; a sister and brother-in-law, Virginia and Cleo Reeves of Cottonwood; a niece and husband, Dolores and Jimmy Gullion; a great-niece and husband, Laurie and Bob Rast; a great-great-nephew, Carson Rast; a nephew and his wife, Bill and Nell Strother and several cousins.
She was a caring family member to her husband's family, Aunt Maje to Emma Adams family. She was Aunt Mayola to the families of Minnie Thompson Colley, Bud Thompson, Carrie Thompson Butler, Eva Thompson Gordon, Dewey Thompson and Katherine Thompson Dobbs. She was a beloved sister-in-law of Truman Thompson Furrh and her husband Leon who reside in Kalispell, Mont.
Mayola cared deeply for friends and family. Her greatest pleasure was helping, whether it was her family, neighbors, the community or her church, where she served as secretary many years. She also served as secretary of the Forest Hill cemetery Association.
She never held a 9-to-5 job, but she could be seen loading cows, running errands and providing support to her farmer-rancher husband.
Her greatest legacy to her family was her love of books and her sense of responsibility to others.
Memorials may be made to Forest Hill United Methodist Church, Forest Hill cemetery Association or the Forest Hill Community Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, her parents and two brothers, Bell Strother and F. B. Strother.
Helen Louise Mabry
Helen Louise Mabry died Friday, Nov. 27, 1998, in Baylor Hospital in Dallas. Services are pending with Maxey Funeral Home of Paris.
