HUGO - Iva Joe Davis, 72, of Hugo died Tuesday, July 8, 1997, at Presbyterian Hospital, dallas.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, July 11, at Miller and Miller Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Stanley Pope officiating. Burial will be in Whitefield cemetery.
Surviving are two sons, Norman Davis Jr. of Whitewright, Texas and Leonard Davis of Bonham, Texas; three daughters, Hazel Davis of Hugo, Marlyn Lavergne of Bonham and Jennie Campbell of Tulsa; two sisters, Opal Patterson of Manitou Beach, Mich. and Flora Mae Burns of Cement; 31 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Norman J. Davis Sr. and Troy A. Skrimager and two sons, Bobby Earl Davis and Flyd Lee Skrimager.
Ruby Lee Wages
CLARKSVILLE - Ruby Lee Wages, 73, of Avery died Tuesday, July 8, 1997, in Paris.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 10, in Lindeman Chapel of Clarksville Funeral Home with the Rev. Rickey Hunt officiating. Burial will be in Laurel land cemetery in Dallas. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born Nov. 1, 1923 in Maypearl to Bobby and Effie Spiegel Bell. She was a member of Lighthouse Full Gospel Church.
Surviving are a son, Bobby Wages of Avery; a sister, Bobbie Abel of Dallas; a brother, Wernon Bell of Dallas; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wages, and a daughter.
Norene Rogers
Norene Rogers, 88, a former resident of Windom and Paris, died Wednesday, July 2, 1997, at Long Island, N.Y.
Services will be conducted by Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta at 10:30 a.m. Friday, July11, at First Baptist Church in Henrietta.
Mrs. Rogers waas formerly employed by First National Bank and Texas Power & Light Co. in Paris. She had lived in New York with her daughter, Sara Helen Walter and her family.
Surviving are her daughter, two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Jennie W. Brooks
Jennie W. Brooks, 81, 121-3rd NW, died Friday, July 4, 1997, at St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Maxey Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Rondie Williams officiating. Burial will be in Fairland-Littlejohn cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Surviving are a stepson, James Garvin of Paris; daughters, Lula M. Brooks and Cleta Brooks Booker of Paris, Ruby Newsome and Annie Reeves of Denver, Colo., and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John Rollerson and her husband, Wade Brooks.
Pallbearers will be Walter Williams, Curtis Booker, James Garvin and Ray Brooks.
David M. Knowles
BOGATA - David M. Knowles, 79, of Bogata died Sunday, July 6, 1997, in East Texas Medical Center, Clarksville.
Services were at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, in Cuthand Methodist Church. Wood Funeral Home made burial in Cuthand cemetery.
He was born Aug. 1, 1917, in Cuthand to Jess M. and Priscilla Cook Knowles. He married
Lucille Preston Oct. 14, 1940, in Cuthand. He was a retired farmer and rancher.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, Billy Don Knowles of Grand Prairie and Gerald Knowles of Bogata; two daughters, Patsy Dusenbury of Irving and Penny Sanders of Arp; a brother, Steve Knowles of Bogata; two sisters, Bernice Loftin of Irving and Cora Tidwell of Bogata; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Knowles, Oct. 6, 1973.

BOGATA - Ina Williams, 90, of Fulbright died Friday, July 4, 1997.
Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 6, at Freedom Tabernacle Church of Christ in Paris with Elder Bruce Rollerson officiating. Brownrigg Funeral Home of Clarksville made burial in Turner cemetery.
She was born Aril 25, 1907, in Roxton to Will and Parilee Allen. She was a member of Williams Church of God In Christ. She married
Sam Williams Dec 2, 1922.
Surviving are her husband, Supt. S.W. Williams of Fulbright; six daughters, Luella Barber, Flora Broadnox and Hazel Freeman of Dallas; Everlean Finley of Texarkana, Clara Dickerson of Clarksville and Donna Norman of Mount Pleasant; three sons, Samuel Wayne Williams of Dallas, Roy Lee Williams of Clarksville and Eddie Williams of Mount Pleasant; 34 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Avis Nelson of Fulbright and Ivera Byrd of Santa Anna. She was preceded in death by three daughters, one son and a brother.
Billy Joe Cathey
COOPER - Billy Joe Cathey, 67, of Alvardo died Sunday, July 6, 1997, in Burleson.
Delta Funeral Home will conduct graveside serices at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, at Oaklawn cemetery.
He was born in Carthage Nov. 1, 1929 to Hyson and Bessie Cathey. He was a construction superintendent for U.S. Steel.
Surviving are his wife, Lois Mary Coyle Cathey; a son, Thomas Cathey of Burleson; a daughter, Karen Cathey of Washington, D.C., and a sister, Barbara Jean Bellscamper of Dallas.
Charles Edwin Loftin
Charles Edwin Loftin, 73, of Paris, died Sunday, July 6, 1997, at St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, at Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Randall Scott officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
He was born April 12, 1924, in Paris to J.E. and Georgia Mann Perkins Loftin. He served in the Air Force during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Sally Morgan Easely Loftin; a daughter, Shirley Loftin of Paris; sons, Larry and Tommy Loftin, both of Paris and Roger Loftin of Greenville; brothers, Robert Lee and Jerry Eugene Loftin of Alvardo; and sisters, Helen Marie Wagner of Dallas and Dorothy Tegue of Hugo.

Freddie Joyce Moore
Freddie Joyce Moore, 62, of Paris, died Friday, July 4, 1997, in Paris.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Northwest Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Moore officiating. Assisting the Rev. Moore will be the Revs. Royce Dickey and Billy Dickey. Burial will be in Hopewell cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. today at Rodens Chapel of Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home.
The body will lie in state from 2-6 p.m. today and 9 a.m.-noon Monday.
Mrs. Moore was born Feb. 13, 1935, in Fredrick, Okla., a daughter of Henry Franklin and Virgie Fisher Hicks. She married
Archie Wayne Moore Dec. 25, 1953. She worked for Marriott at Campbell Soup Co. and was a member of Northwest Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, five sons, Gary Wayne Moore and his wife, Anna Kay, of Cuthand, Archie Lynn Moore and his wife, Cathy, of Paris, Rickey Moore and his wife, Jan, of Hot Springs, Ark., Steve Moore of Paris and the Rev. Terry Moore and his wife, Pam, of Wichita Falls; a daughter, Kellie Black and her husband, Steve, of Paris; three sisters, Marie Dickey of Paris, Pauline Stout of Greenville and Norma Jenkins of California and three brothers, Carl Hicks of Dallas, Herman Hicks of California and Henry Hicks of Paris.
