Doris Loraine Galyon
Doris Loraine Galyon, 83, of Roxton, died Friday at St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center.
Memorial graveside services at Restland cemetery, Roxton, are pending with Bright-Holland Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Galyon was born Nov. 21, 1913, in Roxton, a daughter of Jim T. and Zincy Bowen Penn. She married
the Rev. James E. Galyon July 4, 1941, in Dallas. He preceded her death July 26, 1988.
She was a beautician for many years and was a member of the Central Christian Church in Dallas.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Patricia Ann Galyon of Roxton; three grandchildren, David Larry Galyon Jr. and wife Charla of Roxton, Donald Brette Galyon of Fort Worth and Douglas Scott Galyon and wife Jamie of Pottsboro; seven great-grandchildren, Megan, Cody and Joshua Galyon, all of Hugo, Okla., Brette and Shelby Galyon, both of Pottsboro and Jessie Bryant and Miranda Sessums, both of Roxton; a niece, Janet McAdams of Austin; a nephew, Paul Penn of Lubbock; two foster children, Sonny and Bonnie Romero of Mesquite; six foster grandchildren, Lisa, Mary Jane, Tiffany, Heather, Sonny Jr. and Bennett; two foster great-grandchildren, Matthew and Rebecca.
She was preceded in death by her son, David Larry Galyon on Dec. 5, 1988, a granddaughter, Iva Loraine Galyon in 1958 and by two brothers, Donald and Roscoe Penn.
Memorials may be made to the Ella McFadden Hospice in care of St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center, 820 Clarksville St., Paris, TX 75460.
Delbert L. Bryant
BOGATA - Delbert L. Bryant, 91, of Bogata, died Thursday, July 3, 1997, in Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Medical Center in Bonham.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Wood Funeral Home Chapel in Deport with Chaplain W.C. Beasley officiating. Burial in Detroit cemetery was under the direction of Wood Funeral Home.
Mr. Bryant was born Sept. 29, 1905, in Detroit, a son of Wallace and Airry Hurt Bryant. He was a retired farmer and a World War II veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Clyde Mann of Austin; a grandson, Kim Mann of Austin; a granddaughter, Pam Killingsworth of Austin; a great-grandson, a sister, Shirley Wright of Terrell and a brother, Gus "Bunk" Bryant of Fulbright.
Kenneth Pratt
MOUNT VERNON - Kenneth Pratt, 59, of Mount Vernon died Friday, July 4, 1997, in St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Harvey Funeral Home, Mount Vernon, with Jim Crittenden officiating. Burial will be in Rockhill cemetery.
Mr. Pratt was born Dec. 11, 1937, in Paris, a son of Robert and Nora Eubanks Pratt.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Pratt of Pine Valley; a daughter, Cindy Denise Rush of Richmond; a son, Robert W. Pratt of Aubry; a brother, Bobby Gene Pratt of Paris; a sister, Betty Tom Ford of Fort Worth and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Louis Pratt.
Grace Everett Jones
CLARKSVILLE - Grace Everett Jones, 91, of Clarksville, died Friday, July 4, 1997, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Longview, under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home. Burial will take place in White cemetery, Longview.
Ms. Jones was born Jan. 20, 1906, in Gregg County, a daughter of David Henry and Susan Virginia Everett. She was a housewife and member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Brannon Jones of Bellaire and Everett Jones of Lewisville; four daughters, Mary Louise Gavaras of Miami, Fla., Sarah Fleming of Bogata, Virginia Sue Garner of Arlington and Elizabeth Bryan of Clarksville; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Margaret Furlow Montgomery
Margaret Furlow Mont-gomery, 79, of Paris, died Thursday, July 3, 1997, in St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Roden Chapel of Gene Roden's Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Ray Starnes officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery.
The body will lie in state from 2-6 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Ms. Montgomery was born Aug. 5, 1917, in Paris, a daughter of Thomas Wade Madding and Hattie Lou Williams.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Bobby (Cherry) Rhoades of Paris and Linda Maddox of Dallas; a sister, Lora White of Paris; six grandchildren, Jennifer McGahee and her husband, Marc, Kimberly Maddox, Jessica McNally, Lacey McNally, Mandy Barnett and her husband, Keith, and Melissa Rhoades and four great grandchildren.
Mrs. Barney (Earline Short) Wilson
Mrs. Barney (Earline Short) Wilson, 85, of Pattonville died Thursday, July 3, 1997, at her home.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Dr. L.C. Stout and the Rev. Jerry Moore officiating. Burial was in Shady Grove cemetery.
She was born April 5, 1912, in Shady Grove to Samuel Crockett and Jessie Lucinda Hodges Short. She attended Clardy schools and married
Barney Willis Wilson Dec. 8, 1933, at Pattonville. He died Sept. 28, 1996. They owned and operated Wilson's Grocery and Gas Station and were cattle ranchers for many years. She was a member of Pattonville United Methodist Church and later Shady Grove United Methodist Church. She and her husband founded the perpetual care fund for the Shady Grove cemetery.
Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Martha Porterfield and Betty and Jimmy Slayden, all of Paris; six grandchildren, Phillip Porterfield and wife Rita of North Richland Hills, Jayson Porterfield and wife Lesley of Carrollton, Tamara Porterfield Williams and husband James of Atlanta, Ga., Betty Jo Taylor of Pattonville, Dustin Blount and wife Jennifer of Paris and Summer Slayden of Paris; six great-grandchildren, one brother, S.C. Short; two sisters, Henrietta Watts and Dorothy Cunningham; two brothers-in-law, James Cunningham and J.D. Allen, all of Paris; a sister-in-law, Allene Short of Tyler. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Virginia, a sister, Johnnie Allen, and one brother, Jack Short.
Pallbearers were Donald Bob Merritt, Sammy Short, Rufus Merritt, Curt Woodall, Joe Burress and Gary Floyd. Honorary bearers will be Jesse Anderson, James Day, Billy Blevins and Sonny Slayden.

Lolas Odell "L.O." Wheat
COOPER - Lolas Odell "L.O." Wheat, 79, of Grand Prairie, died Friday, July 4, 1997, in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Dallas.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Oaklawn cemetery. The Rev. Terry Bryan will officiate with interment under the direction of Delta Funeral Home.
Mr. Wheat was born Sept. 4, 1917, in Bowie County, a son of John Bevil and Emma Kirby Wheat.
Survivors include three sons, L.O. Wheat Jr. of Wichita Falls, Benny Wheat of Mesquite and Dennis Wheat of Cooper; a daughter, Susan Turner of Streetman; two brothers, Sammie Wheat of Cooper and Carl Wheat of Payson, Utah; three sisters, Irene Fuentes of Cooper, Julene Cathey of Moab, Utah, and LaVern Lytle of Cooper, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews and a special niece, Twonette Hill, of Klondike.
Elmer L. Holmes
COOPER - Elmer L. Holmes, 81, of Cooper, died Saturday, July 5, 1997, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Cooper. The Rev. Lynn Holly will officiate with interment following in Oaklawn cemetery under the direction of Delta Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Holmes was born Sept. 7, 1915, in Lamar County, a son of John Moses and Willie Westbrook Holmes. He married
Claudia Killebrew June 27, 1934. She preceded him in death Dec. 22, 1996.
Survivors include a son, Elmer Joe Holmes of Paris; six daughters, Betty Brewer of Highlands, Dorothy Pennix of Cypress, Nada Crouch and Judy Petty, both of Sulphur Springs, Marie Lowery of Salem, Ind., and Margaret Eudy of Cooper; a sister, Jenny Watkins of Cooper, 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
