Roy C. Wright
COOPER - Roy C. Wright, 91, a retired rancher, died Friday, May 1, 1998, at Birchwood Manor in Cooper.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 3, in Delta Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Lyn Holly officiating. Burial will be in the Oaklawn cemetery in Cooper.
Survivors include his wife, Harriet L. Wright of Cooper; a son, James N. Wright of Arlington; a brother, Pete Lloyd Wright of Bonham, a sister, Truman Fetheroff of Lodi, Ohio; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was born Nov. 13, 1906, in Delta County, a son of Bunyan and Eva (McDonald) Wright. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cooper and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Oak Cliff. He had been involved in ranching and construction since 1963.
Evelyn R. Ables
Evelyn R. Ables, 83, of Paris died at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, in Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Fortenberry and Dr. Tim Parker officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 3, 1917, in the Howland community to T.V. and Myrtle May McFadden Roberts. She was a graduate of Howland schools and a lifetime member of Howland Baptist Church. A former employee of McCuistion Regional Medical Center, she was a longtime member of the McCuistion Auxiliary and Order of the Eastern Star.
She married
Aaron Arvil Ables Feb. 8, 1941, in Oklahoma. He died Oct. 22, 1968.
Surviving are two sons. Thomas A. Ables and wife Regina, Dr. Bob D.Ables and wife Sandra, all of Paris, a daughter, Joan Ables Hickman and husband Donald of Salisbury, Mo.; six grandchildren, Maryann Hickman Rustemeyer and husband Mike, Brenda Hickman Nicolay and husband Mike of Salisbury, Mo., Bret Aaron Ables of Paris, Millicent Elaine Ables of Kansas City. Kan., Morgan Ables and Alexandria Ables, both of Paris; five great -grandchildren, Jordan Ruste-meyer, McKay Rustemeyer, Cassandra Nicolay, Hannah Nicolay, and Zachary Aaron Ables; a brother, T.V. Roberts and wife Bobbye of Paris, and nephews Thomas Perry and wife Annie of Sulphur Springs; David Roberts and wife Janet of Sugarland, Doug Roberts and wife Cindy of Dallas; a sister-in-law, Sally Roberts and her daughters Susan and Sarah; a special granddaughter-in-law, Trava Ables of Paris; and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Roberts, in 1988, and a sister, Annys Perry, in 1994.
Joe Travis Hudson Sr.
MADISONVILLE -Joe Travis Hudson Sr., 81, of Madisonville died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, in a Shreveport, La., hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dick White and the Rev. Leroy Stanton officiating. Burial will be in Madisonville City cemetery.
Visitation hours will be from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Tuesday with the family present from 6-8 p.m., and from 9 a.m. until noon Wednesday at Madisonville Funeral Home, 1511 E. Main.
He was born Feb. 7, 1919, in Paris to Joe Calvin and Flora Roberts Hudson. He graduated from Paris High School in 1936 and lived here until 1950 when he moved to Madisonville. He and his wife, Marjorie, owned and operated Ormand's Dry Goods in Madisonville until 1980. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.
His wife of 60 years, Marjorie Ormand Hudson, died Jan. 13, 2000.
Surviving are a son, Joe T. Hudson Jr. and wife Jan of Shreveport, La.; three grandsons, Jon Travis Hudson of Fort Collins, Colo., Jay Patrick Hudson of San Marcos, and Jordan Patrick Hudson of Shreveport, La.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Jack Bankhead, James McIver, Don Lasiter, Merle Wilburn, Frank Knight, and Dr. J.E., Reed Jr. Honorary bearers will be G.C. Schaffer, John Dean Carter, Al Bender and Sonny Knight.

Aleene N. Chappell, 86, of Ennis died Monday, Feb. 28, 2000, in Dallas.

She was born Feb. 20, 1914, in Sumner to Pleasant Luke and Bessie Laws Chappell. She was a retired waitress.
Surviving are a brother, Hollis Chappell of Mesquite; a sister, Naomi Foreman of Alvis, Okla., and several nieces and nephews.

She was born March 29, 1920, to George and Mary Nichols Householder. She married
William A. "Bill" Sneed who preceded her in death Nov. 2, 1994. She was a member of Blossom Church of Christ and was a certified pastry cook.

Sneed and wife Donna of Paris, Raymond Sneed and wife Fredia of The Colony, and Jerry Sneed and wife Elizabeth of Paris; one daughter, Mary Alice Knight and husband Ray of Gatesville; two brothers, Clifford Householder of Maud, Okla., and Erwin Householder of Sulphur, Okla.; a sister, Ethel Young of Paris; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

CLARKSVILLE - Florence H. Rattan, 90, of Clarksville, died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000, at Clarksville Nursing Center.
She was a retired bookkeeper.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, in Lindeman Chapel, with the Rev. Boyd Sawyer officiating. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery.

She was born March 23, 1909, in Arkansas, a daughter of F. A. and Oma Tomlinson Hooks. She was a member of McKenzie Memorial United Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrell James Rattan in 1958, and four sisters and a brother.

Maryhelen Wright Billingsley Ingram, 66, of Paris died Friday, Feb. 25, 2000, at McCuistion Regional Medical Center.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 29, at Holy Cross Episcopal Church with Dr. Raymond Armstrong, Dr. Charles McMillan, and Dennis Lee officiating. Fry and Gibbs Funeral Home will make burial in Evergreen cemetery. Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
She was born in Paris Feb. 18, 1934, to Clarence Payne and Lillian Gross Wright. She married
John T. Ingram June 18, 1999, in Cour d' Alene, Idaho. She was a realtor for Texas Realty and a member of Holy Cross Episcopal Church.
She began her real estate career in late 1978 with Red Carpet in North Dallas. Four years later she joined Merrill Lynch in Lake Highlands and became a three million dollar producer. She moved back to Paris in 1987 and joined Texas Realty. Maryhelen continued to be a million dollar producer in the first six months and continued to make and exceed all the goals she and Texas Realty set for her.
She loved to play golf and was a member of the Ladies Golf Association at Paris Golf and Country Club. She had served as president of the association.
Survivors are her husband, John, a daughter, Karen West of Garland; and three grandchildren, Amber, Adam and Amanda West, all of Garland. She was preceded in death by a son, Geron Billingsley.
Pallbearers will be Bill Nash, James Anderson, Wayne Player, Fred Eatherly, Marvin Dunn Jr., Kermit Keeley, Richard Margraves, and A.W. Shelton.
