Inez Vasquez Flores
Funeral services for Inez Flores, 75, of Idalou will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2007, at St. Phillip Benizi Church, with Msgr. Roland Buxkemper officiating. Family will receive friends from 10 to 9 p.m. today at the Church.
Rosary will be 7 p.m. Thursday, April 19, 2007, at St. Phillip Benizi Church. Burial will be at Idalou cemetery under the direction of Guajardo Funeral Chapels. She died on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at home. She was born April 29, 1931, in Creedmoor, to Ines and Maria Vasquez. She married
Luis Flores on May 1, 1948, in Creedmoor. They moved to Idalou in 1951.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ines and Maria Vasquez; a brother, Joe Vasquez; brother and sister-in-law, Lupe and Mary Agnes Vasquez; and a sister Liz Hernandez.
She retired from Covenant Medical Center after 27 years of service. She lived her Cursillo of Christianity in Tulia on 1962. She was an active Cursillista. She was also a member of The Guadalupanas and The Finance Committee for Idalou's St. Phillip Catholic Church.
Inez is survived by her husband, Luis Flores; three daughters, Rosie (Fred) Marmolejo, Mary Flores, and Carolyn (Manuel) Olivarez, all of Idalou; a son, Jesse (Sally) Flores of Midland; six grandsons; five granddaughters; twelve great-great grandchildren; stepmother, Celestina Garze of Austin; five sisters, Mary Salazar, Janie Oshiro, Lydia Gamez and Martha Rivera, all of Austin, and Toni Davila of Buda; and a brother, Richard Vasquez of Austin.
Pallbearers will be: Richard Vasquez, Freddie Marmolejo, Chris Marmolejo, Robert Olivarez, Ian Flores and Shane Flores.

Cheryl Damron
Cheryl was 59 years of age and was born on Feb. 16, 1948, in Temple. She was an outgoing student and cheerleader at Pecos High School, graduating in 1966, she later attended Texas Tech University. Cheryl married
Michael Don Damron, Sr. in June of 1967. Mike preceded her in death in 1992. Her father, James Harry Cowan, also preceded her in death in 1951.
Cheryl passed from this life April 17, 2007, in Kennett, Mo., after a brief battle with cancer as her daughter and doctor stood by her side for the last six weeks. The family praises Amy for the love and peace she gave her mother and family during this trying time.
Cheryl was a Baptist by faith. She loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was a homemaker and friend to her three children. She is survived by her sons, Michael Don Damron Jr. and wife Chana, Justin Granville Damron and wife Michelle, all of Lubbock; daughter, Dr. Amy Lockhert and husband Dr. Dale Lockhert of Kennett, Mo.; her twin sister, Elizabeth Priddy of Denver Colo.; sisters, Michelle Hoefs of Houston and Rachel Tarin of Pecos; parents, Beryl and Joseph Billeiter Jr. of Pecos; and eight grandchildren, Daniel, Jennifer, Jacqueline, Luke, and Zoey Lockhert, Savannah and Austin Damron and Alyssa Vitella.
Cremation and a memorial service were conducted on April 19, 2007, in Kennett, Mo.
Family and friends will join together for a memorial service in Englunds Chapel at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2007, in Slaton.
Perry Marion Killman
Perry Marion Killman, of Lubbock, passed away on Feb. 4, 2006 at the age of 87. He was born on Oct. 18, 1918 in Cavaness to the late Jesse James and Letitia Bounds Killman. Perry lived most of his young life in Paris. He joined the Navy at the beginning of WWII and served in the Navy aboard the Battleship North Carolina.
Perry stayed in California until 1952, then moved to Lubbock to do building construction work and became a member of the Southcrest Baptist Church. He married
Lena Williams on November 6, 1961 in Midland. He started up Perry Killman Sheetrock Company in 1961 when later evolved into Perry Killman Drywall & Acoustical, Inc. Perry retired at the age of 65 and sold his business and bought ranch land by White River Lake. He helped organize White River Chapel on the lake and enjoyed meeting and making friends. He and his wife, returned to Lubbock in the spring of 1996 and joined Southcrest Baptist Church for a second time. Perry and Lena enjoyed being involved with the Meals on Wheels twice a week for the past five years until his illness. His favorite part of Meals on Wheels was visiting the people. He also enjoyed feeding the ducks on Canyon Lake Drive.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife of 44 years, Lena Francis Killman; two sons, Patrick Joseph Killman of Houston and Michael James Killman of Odessa, three daughters, Paula Joyce Merrell of Odessa, Lendale Marrie Kill-man of Grapevine and Letitia Janet Killman of Lubbock; two step children, Franklin Carl Stuart of Dallas, and Susan Osborne of Plano; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.
The family will recieve friends on Monday at White Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will be held at Southcrest Baptist Church on Feb. 7, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. with Chaplain Bruce Cotton officiating. Interment will follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the personal care of White Funeral Home.
Ray Atwood
Memorial services for Ray Atwood, 72, of Lubbock will be at 7:30 p.m. today at St. Paul Historic Chapel with the Rev. Jim Atkins officiating.
Arrangements are under the direction of Chapel of Angels Funeral Home.
He died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001.
He was born Sept. 18, 1929, in Sacramento. He attended school in Oregon and California. He served with the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He was stationed in Hawaii and was a weapons instructor. He was a self-employed carpenter. He was a certified woodshop instructor for the California State Prison System and taught woodshop at San Quentin Prison.
He was a Boy Scout and a Cub Scout leader. He was a treasurer for YMCA in California. He married
Gloria Yarbrough on Nov. 1, 1965, in San Francisco. He moved to Lubbock in 1990.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Michele Freeman of Lubbock, Mary Hetrick of Vancouver, Wa., and Denise Williams of Kenner, La.; two sons, Gary of Oakland, Calif., and Ronald of Alameda, Calif.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Mary Rachel Quest
Mary Rachel Quest lived her short life to its fullest, making countless friends and excelling in every task she undertook. Her love of life and dedication to family, friends, and horses made her a joy to everyone around her.
Born May 25th, 1982, in Lubbock, Rachel was a 2000 honor graduate of Lubbock Cooper High School, where she excelled in her studies. She was a successful member of FFA, earning a multitude of awards with her junior market barrows and steers. Rachel acquired her Lone Star Farmers Degree while at Cooper and competed in various FFA programs.
Following high school, Rachel graduated from West Texas A&M; University in Canyon in 2004. She completed a double major in Marketing and Equine Management, and was a member of Alpha Beta, an elite scholastic fraternity. Rachel was nationally ranked while on the western team and individually ranked in English riding for the WTAMU Equestrian Team. She also won the national title for the NRHA Intercollegiate Reigning Horse Judging Contest at The World Quarter Horse Show.
She was an accomplished equestrian, winning countless awards as a junior rider and most recently as a professional trainer in the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF).
Rachel taught a number of students across the state, who admired her and will "ride on" with style because of her instruction. She brought out the very best in her students and their horses, no matter what level of competition. In addition to her training activities, Rachel was recently showing jumping horses across the country at the elite "Grand Prix" level.
Rachel is survived by her parents, Ronnie and Jaime Quest; her loving brother, Rafe Quest, and her grandfather Ralph "Sleepy" Quest, all of Lubbock. Aunts and uncles include E.J. and Sandi Holub of Midland, Kathy and Hap Hunnicutt of Houston, Ralph and Kathy Quest of Granbury, Rick Parmer of Abilene, and surrogate Uncle Shelley MacGeorge of Lubbock. Cousins Shannon Ireland, Jeff Ireland, Erin Parmer, Jessi Bailey, Justin Quest, Jennifer Kautsch, Fletcher Dunson and Cosmo, her beloved dog and ÏLittle BuddyÓ also survive her.
Visitation with the family will be Thursday, March 15th, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Rix Funeral Home, at 1901 Broadway, followed by services on Friday, March 16th, 1 p.m. at Lakeridge United Methodist Church, at 4801 82nd Street, both in Lubbock.
Friends are asked, in lieu of flowers, to send donations to the Rachel Quest Memorial Scholarship Fund, Attention: Shayna White; Plains Capital Bank, P.O. Box 271, Lubbock, Texas, 79408. The fund will benefit the Equestrian Program at West Texas A&M; University in Canyon, Texas.
Edgar E. McElroy
Edgar E. McElroy, Lt. Col., U.S.A.F.(Ret.) of Lubbock, passed away at his residence early in the morning of Friday, April 4, 2003.
Visitation: RIX Funeral Directors from 2 until 4 p.m. Sunday. Military services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, in DFW National cemetery. Mac was born in Ennis, Texas to Harry G. and Jennie S. McElroy March 24, 1912. His love of aviation caused him to enter the U.S. Army Air Corps and recieve pilot training prior to World War II. At the outbreak of the war, he volunteered with Lt. Col. Jimmy Doolittle to take part in the famous attack on the Japanese homeland from the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Hornet. He piloted aircraft Number 13 on that mission and spent most of World War II flying łthe hump˛. Following 22 years of distinguished service, he retired from the U.S. Air Force as a highly decorated Lt. Colonel, and a command pilot. He was inducted into the Texas Aviation Hall of Fame in 2001. Mac moved to Lubbock with his wife, Agnes, who taught at MacKenzie Junior High School, and he became employed by S &R; Auto Supply as a salesman. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, two sons; Ed Junior, and wife Sharon, of Plano, and Rick and wife Lynda, of Colleyville; three grandchildren, Donna Hatch, Ronald Mc Elroy and Jason Mc Elroy; and three greatgrandchildren, Savanah, Nicole and Kyle Hatch.
Dustin Campbell
FRIONA — Services for Dustin Lee Campbell, 18, of Friona will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Stovall and Wade Messer officiating.
Burial will be in Friona cemetery under the direction of Ellis-Blackwell Funeral Home of Friona.
He died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2001.
He was born Feb. 25, 1983, in Friona. He graduated from Friona High School in 2001. In high school, he was active in football, baseball, power lifting, the Science Club, the Industrial Arts Club, FFA and the Student Council. He was class treasurer his sophomore year and class president his junior year. He was selected all-district defensive tackle his senior year. He was a freshman at Texas Tech and a member of First Baptist Church in Friona.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Campbell, on June 14, 2000.
Survivors include his parents, Danny L. and Holly R. of Friona; a brother, Stephen of Friona; a grandmother, Vernell Campbell of Fritch; and grandparents, Dale and Laura Hart of Friona.
Glenda Wallace
ACKERLY - Services for Glenda Faye Wallace, 78, of Ackerly will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Ackerly First Baptist Church with the Rev. Clifton Igo officiating and the Rev. Derrick Looney assisting.
Burial will be in the Ackerly cemetery under the direction of Branon Funeral Home.
She died Friday, Sept. 29, 2000, at her home.
She was born on Dec. 18, 1921, in Danville, Ark. She married
Norman "Bill" Wallace on Nov. 23, 1938, in Lamesa.
She did volunteer work with the Big Spring State Hospital. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ackerly, where she taught Sunday school for many years.
She was president of the Parents Teachers Association for many years. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Phil of Seminole; two daughters, Brenda Davis and Mary Ann, both of Ackerly; four sisters, Lois Harred of Lebo, Kan., Gwen Sawyer of Lenora, Elva Page of Dallas, and Joann Dennis of DeSoto; a brother, Maurice Womack of Flippan, Ark.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
