Maude Goss
ADAMS, Okla - Services for Maude Goss, 95, of Perryton, formerly of Ralls, were held Monday at Adams Baptist Church with her son, the Rev. John N. Goss Jr., officiating.
Burial was in Union Center cemetery, near Adams, under the direction of Roberts Brothers Funeral Home in Hooker, Okla.
She died Saturday, Sept. 23, 2000, in Perryton.
She was born in Lake City, Iowa. She married
the Rev. John N. Goss Sr. in 1928 at Edmund, Okla. They lived in Asher, Baldo, and Texoma, Okla., and in Liberal, Kan., before moving to Ralls, where they served for 28 years in area churches.
She was a Sunday school teacher and a GA leader for many years. They moved to Adams in 1998 and then moved to Senior Village in Perryton.
Her husband died in 1999. A daughter, Ethel Marie Beckham, also preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son, the Rev. John N. Goss Jr. of Adams; a half-brother, George McCaulley of Florida; a half-sister, Bernice; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Gideons International.
Albert Reagan
LOVINGTON, N.M. - Graveside services for Albert M. Reagan, 71, of Malakoff will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Lovington cemetery with Lovington Masonic Lodge No. 46 officiating.
Burial is under the direction of Bethany Funeral Home of Lovington.
He died on Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, in the Veterans Hospital in Temple.
He was born on Oct. 7, 1928, in Tell. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II on the USS Fall River, and served during the Korean Conflict.
He married
Mildred Pauline Moore in 1949 in Province, R.I. They moved to Lovington in 1952. They retired and moved to Malakoff in 1979. She died in 1982. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Anna.
He donated his time to the Malakoff Masonic Lodge No. 759, where he served as worshipful master of that lodge from 1997 until 1998.
Survivors include five children, John A. of Azel, P.R. of Springtown, Robert H. of Malakoff, Gary Dale of Louisville, Ark., and Mary Ellen Conn of Enmauclaw, Wash.; and a brother, Darrell of Lovington.
Roy S. Burgess
SNYDER - Graveside services for Roy S. Burgess, 88, of Leander, formerly of Snyder, will be at 4 p.m. today at Hillside Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Miller Robinson officiating.
Burial will be under direction of Bell-Cypert-Seale Funeral Home.
He died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at Park Place Care Center in Georgetown.
He was born May 27, 1912, in Eufaula, Okla. He married
Janella Hollis on Nov. 17, 1934 in Quitaque.
The family moved to Snyder in 1956 and along with his brother, Rayburn, established the Burgess Professional Pharmacy. He continued as a licensed pharmacist until his retirement in the 1980s.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sue Ann Floyd of Purcell, Okla., and Lou Nell Smith of Leander; a brother, Rayburn of Odessa; and five grandchildren.
Dorothy Ward
BROWNFIELD - Funeral services for Dorothy Mae Ward, 87, of Brownfield will be at 2 p.m. today at Greater New Home Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Reed officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Zion cemetery under the direction of Brock's South Plains Funeral Directors.
She died Monday, Sept. 25, 2000, in Lubbock.
She was born Dec. 25, 1912, in Fantress, Texas. She attended Star Town School in Luling, Texas. She moved to Brownfield in 1961 from Amarillo.
Survivors include two sons, Leroy Jr. and Howard, both of Lubbock; one sister, Lela Williams of Luling; 11 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
Daniel Price
ROSWELL, N.M. - Daniel "D.C." Carol Price, 72, of Roswell died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, N.M.
Graveside services were Thursday at South Park cemetery in Roswell with Steve Smotheron of Church on the Move officiating.
Services were under the direction of Ballard Funeral Home.
He was born on Dec. 3, 1927, in Lubbock.
He married
Sylvia Bogart on June 18, 1948, in Lubbock.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was retired from the Southern Pacific Railroad, where he had worked for 23 years. He also farmed, bought and remodeled homes, and at the time of his death, he owned Shadow Ridge RV Park in Ruidoso, N.M. He was a past member of East Grand Plains Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, David of Dexter, N.M., and Dan of Roswell; and six grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to Waymaker Ranch, in care of the Waymaker Church, 202 S. Sunset, Roswell, N.M.
Curtis Smith
Services for Curtis Smith, 94, of Levelland are pending with Geo. C. Price Funeral Home.
He died Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, in Covenant Hospital in Levelland.
He was born Feb. 15, 1906, in Chitister, Ark., and moved to Levelland in 1928. He married
Shirley Cook on Aug. 1, 1928, in Levelland. She preceded him in death on June 25, 1999. He was also preceded in death by a son, Fred Smith, on March 13, 1983. He was a retired pumper for Amoco Oil.
Survivors include three daughters, Rae Chastain of Casa Grande, Ariz., June Hamilton of Levelland, and Shirley Richardson of Longview; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Preston Baker
SEMINOLE - Services for Preston Harold Baker, 57, of Seminole will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Community Chapel with James T. Smith of the Agape Church of Christ officiating. The Rev. Dan Dale of South Seminole Baptist Church and the Rev. Bobby Bates of First United Pentecostal will assist.
Burial will be in Gaines County cemetery South under the direction of Boyer Funeral Home.
He died Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2000, at Lake Norman Regional Hospital in Mooresville, N.C.
He was born on May 18, 1943, in Hollings, Okla. He married
Vickie Lee Love on March 28, 1994, in Seminole. He was a truck driver for Prime Trucking Co. He moved to Seminole in 1989 from Denver City. He was in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dusty and Joseph, both of Tennessee; five daughters, Coleena of Tennessee, Sonja Childress of Lubbock, Pamela McKee of Seminole, Barara of Denver City and Eydie Harrell of Carlsbad, N.M.; two stepsons, Clifford and David, both of Arkansas; a stepdaughter, Laura Lea Boxley of South Carolina; four brothers, Bill of Arizona, Sam and Paul of Denver City and Carl Hill of South Carolina; one sister, Jo Ann Hill of Texarkana; and seven grandchildren.
